[justify][ alternate title: MY NAME IS ICARUS AND WELCOME TO JACKASS ]
Today the weather was rather pleasant. Or what his definition of pleasant was anyway. Powder blue skies, not a single grey cloud marking the sky, an occasional cool breeze ruffling his ecru pelt. And despite the slow change into autumn, it was warm outside. Icarus was sitting on the balcony, his favorite resting place. His eyelids began to drop, hiding his magenta orbs as he allowed himself to relax. These past few weeks sure have been exciting. He joined Windclan, made a few friends, got kidnapped, developed a friendship with his captor, and now he was back here.
Clan life sure was strange. Before, when it was just him and his parents, he lived a peaceful life. Training with his mother, playing and talking with his father. It was nice. He never would have guessed that there were groups where there were so many other creatures living together peacefully. And to think the only way he found out was because his father died. Though he didn't want to admit it, he had to. Denying his was would do him no good. But maybe, just maybe he would come back somehow.
Icarus opened his eyes once more. He missed his dad, but he didn't want to think about him too much. It would only make the pain of missing him worse. The boy sat up after making the decision to go downstairs and play a bit. He stretched after he stood up, a yawn escaping from his parted jaws. It was then that he started to feel different. It was a familiar feeling, one he had felt many times before. 'Wait, is...' His thoughts trailed off as he felt the balcony underneath him shift.
CRACK!
The part of the structure he was sitting on broke off from the rest of the building. His heart felt like it rose in his chest as he felt himself fall. His wings spread apart and his claws were no longer on the concrete as he began to descend slower. Soon he heard a loud crash as the rubble hit the ground. Just as he thought, he transformed into a dragon. Finally, after weeks of being unable to do so, he could finally shape shift into a dragon again. Icarus could feel his lips curve into a smile.
The once small cream ticked tabby was now a large and beautiful dragon. His once pink eyes were now like small pools of sky. Small yellow scales covered his body, with some chartreuse and aqua scales here and there. His light green wings looked almost like leaves, you might think they were actually made from foliage. And despite being massive in size he still had a lot of growing to do, seeing as he was just a kid.
Even if Icarus wanted to fly around, he lifted up the concrete mess that was once a balcony after some struggle, worrying that there might be somebody under it. Much to his relief, there was nobody under the rubble. 'Thank god.' Thought the large reptile as he drew the fresh air into his lungs. Now that he was sure everything was alright - aside from the balcony that is - Icarus eagerly awaited the reactions of his clanmates.
This was going to be good.
