[fancypost bgcolor=#0f0f0f; borderwidth=0px; width: 490px; max-height:; text-align: justify][size=11pt] it was a normal day. nothing out of the ordinary for those who currently resided in the avian dynasty - or at least he would presume. for nikolai it was day to be remembered, new beginnings were always remembered as well as the end to his life at his birth colony. he had been a warrior there but life had some much potential and being isolated from the rest of the world did not sit well with the black griffin. so he ventured out, saw some of the world until the useless chatter of squirrels brought him his next venture.

clans.

something to fight for, somewhere to build a life, isolation no more and simply the possibilities were endless and he wanted to reap the rewards. the strapping male learned much about the clans and had focused in on one in particular, the avian dynasty, it seemed to fit his nature. after all that, now the male circled the blue skies before landing on the said clan's soil with a simple ruffle of his feathers. as his wings retracted the griffin and he gave a low caw.

this will surely be interesting.

"hello, my name is nikolai and I am looking for entry into the avian dynasty." his words were brief as his familiar yellow eyes watched the female closely for a tense moment and his form relaxed. it was obvious he was still wary about other animals, living solely with griffins his whole life had made him half believe the elders tall tales.

the wind briefly ruffled his feathers and dark fur, it brought the scent of many different animals, of different origins and species. his eyes close momentarily as he breathed in the strong scent, with a small huff his attention returned to meenah.

"hawkclan then", the male corrected himself as he eyed the newly introduced she-wolf. chief? his first meeting with someone of a leadership position, this chieftain seemed to be overall very pleasant.

"pleasure to meet you, meenah and thank you," the dark hued male cawed as his eyes flicked past the wolf to catch a peek at his new home. he felt a warm buzz along his spine as he felt the grass crunch under his paws.

"nice to meet you too, stranger," the male said as he settled onto his hindquarters, gently persuading her to reveal her name. then his eyes once more slid to meenah, her advice was sound and quickly decided to take it- getting familiar with the territory was an important. "ah, yes - I will definitely do that. then probably find somewhere to sleep for the night, meenah." the griffin felt a nice warm sensation at being in a clan thus far.

nikolai watched meenah, the thought of sleeping in a treehouse did not seem to fit him as his wings liked to 'see' the sky in a way. but, he did one just to have and keep his things in and simply relax when he wasn't doing anything important. "treehouses? I've never seen one before but heard plenty. it will be nice to have my own." he just wanted to find his place in hawkclan. flicking his tail, the griffin found his eyes straying to the sky, his kind wasn't out of the sky long.

a tiny voice interrupted his dazed train of thought, it a tiny little scrap, and he watched as she darted from under the chief's legs. the small ruffle of feathers signaled his brief surprise, he hadn't seen the small body heading this way. immediately the ebony male observations concluded she was a cheerful child. Lacey, it was a good name. glancing over at the bobbed tail of lacey, his lips curled for a second, "hello lacey. the insane asylum, huh? you guys look a bit too sane to be here," nikolai joked as his eyes slid over the new faces.

lacey had the body of a child so it surprised his when she said that her age had exceeded the body's age she currently occupied.

"then are you an elder?" he mused softly.

[fancypost bgcolor=#0f0f0f; borderwidth=0px; width: 490px; max-height:; text-align: justify][size=11pt] the black griffin hadn't been in the clan long from the time he had joined, he had been advised to find a treehouse. despite the fact that he loved for his wings to constantly taste the wind, shelter would be nice to have. that is just in case he needed to stow something away, nap, or wait out a storm which would surely come. it did not take long for nikolai to find an empty treehouse with only very old scents of scavengers coming by. he had found a nice sized treehouse, where entering and exiting it would be a piece of cake.

nikolai trotted up the steps of his new abode and it was obvious that no one had maintained it for awhile as it was quite filthy. there were sticks, dirt and broken pots all of the place as if someone had left in such a hurry and someone else had taken what was left. leaving only the aftermath of the aftermath.

so what did he need to do?

I am guessing you are old," he cawed with a humored look - referring to the length of time the snowshoe has been living in hawkclan.

"my name is nikolai, a pleasure." he said with a bob of his head.

he was just on the verge of saying, 'if I fit' but it turned out the unnamed male had just been jesting with the ebony griffin. " ah, too bad. I wanted to finally become medium rare." his eyes danced as he stretched his wings.

"what happened to your leg?" it was an honest question and being so blunt, it was bound to come out anyways.

hopefully the rain would let up.

the obsidian griffin sauntered over to the small group, rain drops slid off of his feathers, "it seems the odd ones are wandering in the rain," he said more to himself with a humored look.

he had finished his air patrol and to be honest the hot weather was getting to him, he wished to be near a lake.. or a pool, anything. despite drinking earlier it seemed to have no effect to keep his hydrated, nikolai stood up slowly and mindlessly began walking. walking to an open field, near the garden, the male began flapping his wings in preparation to take off. but, he stopped. wings stood still in the air as a random egg rolled towards him.

before he could get a good look at the egg, he heard the snowshoe arrive before he spoke and his head turned toward his clanmate.your mama. he did want to badly say a 'yo mama' joke but he restrained his tongue and focused in on the tiny egg which had suddenly appeared. nik shook his head slowly as his head lowered to focus in on the foreign object. "i have no idea, but it appears to be someone's egg." he cawed in wonder, he hadn't seen an egg since his other siblings had been born.

it seemed so long ago now.

besides, this egg was much much smaller than a griffins. the male could smell meenah before he had actually seen her. a subtle smile curled onto his beak. "i don't believe I could but I wasn't expecting this either. I have no idea what the creature inside even is." nikolai ryker scented the egg and hesitantly poked it.

maybe it was fate that the egg and I had contact now, perhaps it was destined, he was tempted to raise the egg himself.

this male was with the exiles, the scent of his confirmed that much, he trusted his clanmates to make the right decision. they did not want an unnecessary battle, but if they believed that it was worth the fight then he'd wholeheartedly agree with the fight. no one deserved to be enslaved, he decided to watch and wait. sitting besides temari he watched the slaves with curiosity.
