It scared him even more than the burst of pain that suddenly exploded in his neck. He'd been distracted. He attempted to keep himself upright, attempted to remain in control of the situation. It was painfully obvious that he wasn't, though, and his legs crumpled underneath him, causing him to hit the ground. Rasps forced their way out of his mouth, along with a few coughs. Blood spilled out of it as he hacked, but nothing fixed it. He realized vaguely that he was facing toward Ryan, laying crumpled on the ground. For some reason, that provided a small amount of comfort. He swallowed as harshly as he could, trying to fight down all of the blood exiting his body. But he couldn't. He wasn't dead yet. Not quite. He pushed his paws to the ground, trying to get back to his feet once again, whole body shaking with the effort of it. He wouldn't even attempt to say anything, knowing all too well that it would be a waste of precious breath. Instead, he just glowered toward the Exilers, panting as blood fell from his mouth, from his side.

His paws pushed a bit at the other dragon's chest, trying to force him to release, although the action held no real strength. It wasn't long, though, before those pushes stilled, his world of pain growing a little more numb. As blood dripped from his body, Ray tried to fight the growing need for sleep striking him. No matter how much he fought it, though, he could do nothing to stop himself. His panting was quieted and he was suddenly eerily still, his neck hanging limply in the leader's jaws, eyes unseeing and glazed.[/fancypost]
