Cocoa nodded. She quietly followed the scent, which eventually led two a clearing with two rabbits in it. She decided to go for the smaller, closer one. Moving alongside the edge of the clearing until it was in range, she crouched and prepared to pounce.
-
Cocoa looked backward at Glaurung. She readied her haunches, then pounced. Unfortunately, she missed a bit and didn't land on the rabbit. It quickly hopped away, too fast for Cocoa to catch. As the other rabbit attempted to hop away, she noticed it was much slower than the other and chased it toward Glaurung.
-
Lila tried to jump up onto the windowsill, but couldn't pull herself up. She tried again, but still couldn't. She hissed quietly. Then she stopped and twitched her ears. "I hear barking," she trembled.
-
"Yes, please!" Bramblekit meowed. "Thank you!"
(Ooc: So sorry, I totally forgot about this!) -
"Thanks!" Cocoa mewed. "You were really good!" She looked at the rabbit. Its eyes were blank and unseeing. She felt a little bad for it. Then she looked up at Glaurung. "You can have it, I'm not hungry."
-
Bramblekit thought for a second, then said, "I think I'd like to go now, if that's okay with you." She smiled, excited.
-
Lila swiveled her ears. She located the sound as coming from up the street. "Farther up the street," she whispered. "But they're getting closer." She peeked out onto the street, and sure enough, she saw the blurry shape of two dogs.
-
"Sure," Lila nodded. She darted over to a tree near the side of the house, grabbed it with her claws, and started to climb. She wasn't very good at it though, and had only made it a tail-length up when the dogs caught the cats' scent and burst into a frenzy of howling.
-
Bramblekit scrambled after Wingspan, grateful that the older molly walked slowly. "Where are we going first?" she asked cheerfully.
-
Cocoa thought for a second. "I don't know," she said. "We could go hunting again, or we could go exploring, or we could do something else." She paused a moment, then said, "I think I'd like to just explore."
-
Bramblekit turned around in a circle, then said, "I'd like to into the city and see some of the buildings."
-
Bramblekit nodded excitedly. "Can I choose which building I stay in?" she asked.
-
Cocoa nodded, then scampered into the forest. "Come on! Where should we go?"
-
Spottedheart wandered into the Scared Forge. "Hello?" she called. "Could I have a quest?"
-
Lila nodded gratefully at Sparrow, then hissed at the dogs. "Go away, flea-brains!"
-
One of the dogs snarled and snapped at Lila's tail. Startled, she jumped into a higher branch, almost falling out of the tree.
-
Lila looked nervously down at the dogs, then back at Sparrow. "Hopefully the dogs go away soon," she said, not sure what else to say.
-
"Yeah, I guess I'll have to find out!" the small kit said. She took a few steps forward and looked back at Wingspan, as if to say, Let's go!
-
Almost all of the dogs had grown bored of them and moved on to find easier prey. There was only one ugly-looking terrier still watching them. Lila jumped down to the lowest branch, and when the dog jumped to bite her, she scratched it across the muzzle. Yipping, it ran away. Lila looked happily at Sparrow.
