Polaroid wasn't much for deep thinking. Her life consisted mainly of her just going with the flow of things, rolling with the punches. She never really did become all that troubled by things. She took whatever happened as a lesson and learned to accept changes fairly easily. She barely remembered times where she'd been upset, though she knew that they'd happened when she was a child.
When her pet owl, Daisy, had been killed, she remembered crying over her. It had taught her the concept of death, though, and also made her aware of the fact that she'd very likely outlive all of those she loved. She was a dinosaur with a long lifespan ahead of her, while the creatures around her had much shorter ones. It was then that she learned she needed to treat her friends with all of the love she could while they were alive, show them all the appreciation she could possibly muster. She needed them to be happy while they lived.
She also remembered crying when she got the scars on her shoulder, though those were faded now, almost nonexistent, as they had been mostly covered by a new patch of scales. It was a badger that gave them to her, one that she didn't realize she couldn't face off against in her young and naive age. It as her first lesson in the fact that she wasn't invincible. The pain of the wounds had shown her just how bad of a mistake it was to be overconfident in her abilities. She needed to be smart about what she did if she wanted to survive in the world.
Now, she was happy that she had those lessons taught to her at a young age. It was for the best that she learned them early on, or life would have been much harder for her now.
Lost in musings of a time long gone, she didn't really notice when Kidd approached. Her feet were carrying her along the shore, though it was mostly idle movement. Her head tilted at the sound of an overly familiar voice, though, and she turned just in time to see him bow.
Immediately, she let out a loud huff. "Don't call me Captain, you nerd!"she said, sticking her tongue out, though there was a certain fondness to her words and actions. Kidd was definitely someone she was growing to trust, beginning to see him as somewhat like a best friend. It was a change, really, from how she'd been in the past. She'd only had parental figures, then, and never had she known anyone that she considered a friend. Just a mama. Having someone as an equal instead of a superior was nice. She didn't want to ruin it by becoming that superior.
