Vaguely, Polaroid remembered caring for an egg before she'd come here. She remembered its hatching, but not much after that. She'd been pulled to this land, been busy with being captain. She hadn't had much time to think of what had become of her small child. She only hoped that she was safe, and knew that her family back home would take care of her if need be.

It was easy for her to recognize her child. "Newblood? Oh my gosh! Hello, sweetheart! It's me! Polaroid! Er... Mama!"she chirped excitedly, already running a small circle around the smaller dinosaur. She was so much bigger than she'd remembered. She felt a little guilty for missing out on the child's development. "Of course you can stay here with me!"

She grinned, giving a nod. "Of course. Come on! I'll show you around inside the lighthouse! Ooh! Actually, where do you want to sleep? The top place is only for me to sleep in, but... You could maybe stay there if you want to! I wouldn't mind and I don't think anyone can complain!"she chirped pleasantly, already trotting toward the tower.

Polaroid grinned brightly, turning her head to look as the bird hopped down to her back. "You're one of my sailors, then. Do you want me to show you the lighthouse and the shipwreck?"she asked, actually fairly excited about this. It was then that her daughter approached, and she offered her a smile, too. "Her name is Amber. She's a joiner." It was a simple answer, really, and one that made perfect sense.

Really, she was extremely happy to be seeing a joiner. They hadn't had many here lately, which was extremely sad. She needed friends around and sailors to order about in order to prosper as a captain!

Polaroid had no clue who this guy was, nor what was going on with him. She had noticed a ship being taken down, but that didn't particularly upset her. It wasn't her crew, so it didn't matter all that much. What did matter, though, was the fact that someone strange was now in the territory. She watched him sift through his things, trying to decide if he was friendly or not. Was he a friend? She wasn't completely sure.

It was then that he whirled around, leaping in her direction. Luckily for her, she had super speed. Dodging out of the way was rather easy. She simply took a quick step aside, then ran behind the creature instead, just to watch him as he completely missed her. "Name and business with the Black Sails?"the dinosaur asked in a chipper tone, seeming more happy and amused than anything. She was always a ray of sunshine in personality. That wasn't going to change because of an attack made on her.

Polaroid tilted her head at the male. It was odd that he revealed so much from that simple question. Usually, everyone was fairly closed-off about revealing things. It was nice to see a small change, a bit more story to why he was here. A grin slowly spread across her features. She liked this guy already, even if he seemed to be pretty grumpy. Having grumpy friends was good. They kept her entertained.

"Well, you're welcome to stay with my crew! I'm Polaroid, captain of the Black Sails! We're a little group of raiders that live here. Most of us stay in the lighthouse, but there's also some of us in the shipwreck."she chirped pleasantly. She paused for a small second, then leaned forward to sniff at the male. "So, you lost your boat? We can help you build one again. I'm sure we could get some carpenters to help or something! You should never give up hope and be a big ole grumpy pants! You stumbled into just the right place!" She stuck her tongue at him, though it was more of an amused gesture than anything. She wasn't angry about the attack in the least.

Polaroid approached, tongue absentmindedly sticking out of her mouth. Her eyes had widened to the size of saucers when the creature appeared. She looked pretty comical, admittedly. At the information that it was an invitation that he brought, she grinned broadly. Ooh! A party! Sounded fun! Plus, free food was always amazing. She was so down for that. "We'll be there!"she chirped happily, coming to stand near James's side.

It didn't take long for Polaroid to arrive. She had super speed, after all, so running to get to places took little energy and even less time. Her green optics flicked around the area, taking in the sight of it. The Church was pretty, but she wasn't exactly religious enough to understand it's meaning. She'd never even seen a bible, let alone read one. All of that stuff just went right over her head. Existence was just existence to her, and she saw no really big deeper meanings to it.

She grinned at the allies she saw around, obviously in a good mood. She always was. "Thanks for inviting us!"the dinosaur chirped, trotting over to let someone guide her to wherever she needed to be seated. She had no idea how to conduct herself at these types of things. She was a child at heart, so appearing as the leader she was supposed to be was going to be tough.

You could even just call me Dinosaur if you wanted to!"she said, leaning down to be eye-level with the little guy. He was a kind of cat that she'd never seen before. Wait. Was he even a cat? She wasn't entirely sure. Her eyes glimmered with curiosity as she eyed him. "What are you, if you don't mind me asking? I've never seen a kitty like you before."

He then spoke again, causing her to giggle. "Of course you can stay! I wouldn't turn down a perfectly good and willing sailor! That'd just be silly!" She moved to run a quick circle around him, mainly just because she couldn't hold herself still when she got excited. She was a good captain, yes, but she was definitely a childish one.

"Ooh! Hello! I'm Polaroid."the dinosaur introduced happily, grinning toward the female before her. She seemed rather flamboyant. That was cool! Polaroid loved talking to people of all different personality types. Creatures were just so interesting in their mannerisms and personalities. She loved them all! Hopefully, Vintage would turn out to be another friend of hers before the night was over. Making friends was what she came here to do, after all.

Her gaze flicked back as she noticed James coming to stand behind her. She offered him a reassuring grin, waving him to stand beside her instead of behind her. Even if she was a leader, she didn't like making anyone feel like they were beneath her if they had not proven themselves to be. "Come on, Kidd! Talk! Don't just stand there, you big silly head!"

Polaroid was never one for knocking. It simply wasn't in her nature. That being said, she didn't knock when she entered the room that James was currently residing in. She was a little tired, having been out hunting and dropping her spoils back home for the group to have something to eat, but that didn't stop her from being as energetic in personality as she always was. She'd been looking for someone to talk to, be it Amber, Kidd, or Newblood, and it seemed that she'd found one of them.

She didn't really react at the sight of how soft and feminine Kidd looked. He looked a little serious for some reason, though, staring into the mirror. She didn't get it. Was it bad to be feminine? Was he worried about it? She cleared her throat to make her presence known, then chirped,"Are you okay? You look kinda sad." She padded over to where he sat, moving to sit next to him. No matter if he was biologically female or not, that didn't really matter to her. What mattered to her was how he acted, and he seemed pretty great so far. "You can talk to me about it if you want to! You don't have to, though. It just sometimes helps!"

Polaroid frowned lightly. For a second, she was at a loss for what to do. Something like this had never happened around her before. Deciding that giving comfort would be the best course of actions, she reached out a gently hand, aiming to pet lightly at the caracal's ears. "Have you seen me? I'm the captain and I'm nowhere near being a brute! At least, I hope not!"she said, aiming to wrap her whip-like tail around the feline.

"Being a pirate doesn't mean being someone you're not. You gotta always be yourself, no matter who that is! If you feel like you're a boy, then you're a boy! If you feel like part of you is still a girl, well... Maybe part of you is, and that's not a bad thing! You can be anybody you want to be and just be yourself! It doesn't make you any less of a pirate!"she said, moving to hold the cat's chin and wipe away at any tears she saw. "You just gotta hold your head up high! Because... You're a great pirate, no matter what anyone says and no matter what gender you are! You got it?"

She noticed the seriousness in his expression, though, and let her own gain a little bit of it. Right. She needed to keep a secret. That was certainly something she was capable of. She made a gesture over her heart, holding up one claw in the air. "I swear on my life that I won't tell a single soul! You can trust me!"
