[ mariam ] nero can be an asshole at first ("pomegranate is sh-t", "you sleep with stuffed animals? what a loser", etcetera) and mariam has full permission to crack his balls. after that, he'll sure as hell respect her. so... friendship ??

@ ely - ooh, i love that~ and since they have that connection, they could have drinking games (where nero would lose and be salty) and have fist fights every once in a while (not really to hurt, but because they both like fighting... even though they both end up with bruises). and in the past they could've had a one night stand or two? though not anymore b/c nesklas is otp

i want to start by saying i understand what you're going through.
i've always been a high achieving straight a student. as a result, my parents have always had high expectations when it came to my academics. whenever school begins to pile up and i start to feel like i'm drowning, i get stressed. so here's what i do to cope:
- tell someone. for the longest time, i refused to do this. i would shove my emotions deep inside myself until i burst. finally, there came a point when i couldn't take it anymore. i confided in my mom and my closest friends, bawling my eyes out as i did so. i felt a lot better knowing that there were people who understood. sure, i was afraid they wouldn't understand at first... but i took a chance and they did. that was a huge relief for me, and i've continued to confide in them to this day.
- take more breaks. yes, upcoming finals and concerts launch many people into stress mode. that said, people need to take time to breathe. you should try taking longer breaks. try to eat your favorite food, indulge in a good show/book, exercise a little, drink water, and maybe take a power nap. if you aren't processing something, sitting there and staring while inwardly freaking out isn't doing anything other than making you more distressed.
- be positive. life is going to keep moving—no matter what happens. you've done really well so far and there's no reason why things won't continue to go well. often times, we make situations seem worse than they actually are. know that you're going to be alright. "horrible people" probably just have no idea how to interact with someone they feel inferior to, your concert will go great (most people don't have a clue about music and will like the performance no matter what—take it from someone whose orchestra has played many terrible concerts), and you've worked hard so far and made good grades so your finals and ACT won't be as hard as you're making them seem. you're ready. even if you don't feel you are.
i don't know if any of that will help, but i hope it does. i'm proud of you, and i think you're absolutely wonderful. keep your chin up, love. make sure to take care of your body by eating and drinking properly and keeping up with hygiene and sleep. ♥

@ loki - oh my gosh yes! that sounds wonderful~ meanwhile, nero will just ignore lav because there's a dog and he loves dogs and nothing else matters at that point. for a while, nero will try to meet up with lav to see his dog ("he only loves me for my body dog") but then they'll actually talk and become friends. but nero and troy don't get along rip.

@ woodsy - they really should! and that should be one of the only things they have each other's backs on. like: "what have you fools been doing with your lives?" and they're both like, "um..." *proceeds to spew sh-t that makes them both look semi-decent* as far as dark memories go, they could've killed someone or almost killed someone, be in debt to another notorious gang, have some kind of terrible secret that got them blackmailed into committing crimes, etcetera.
