It was a dark and stormy night.
Such an original start of what had happened, but it included a certain Giant Huntsman spider and a domestic cat, their names were Larry and Tailgatingpaw. Larry had the inability to speak, but over time his caretaker learned to communicate with him, plus they had a telepathic bond. Rain pounded against the 5-person tent that was built near the main camp. Two figures huddled together. The mammal of the two had decided the eight-legged arachnid could sleep with him tonight. They laid together on an air mattress, Larry sleeping just fine but Tailgatingpaw jumped at the huge outbreaks of thunder that sounded like a giant stick breaking in two and the lightning that outlined the windows of the large tent. He sniffled, burying deeper into the mess of towering pillows and globs of blankets. Soon, the sight and sounds were muffled in his point of view, and he fell asleep.
They woke up on a rather cold morning, rain still sprinkling the air. They laid in a rather awkward position, Larry draping himself over Tailgatingpaw, but thankfully venomous fangs did not meet fur. The feline had floated up from the fabric sea of thick blankets and fluffy pillows. They were not in good condition, and both had gotten bad sleep. They were healed of this when they were together, almost as if both of them were the cure for one another. Larry got up and said telepathically to the half-drowsy Tailgatingpaw, "I had the best sleep in the last few weeks." The one he was talking to nodded drowsily. He got up and the other followed. The male cat whispered to Larry, not bothering to speak to where only they could understand it, once they were outside, "I need to talk to you." The spider hopped on him and they walked to a tree, free of rain. Tailgatingpaw took a deep breath and closed his eyes, beginning his telepathic admitting, "O-okay. It's just.. Stuff's been bothering me. I wish you were with me always. I need you to be with me all the time." The spider wiggled himself up and down, showing that he was trying to nod. "Me too," the Australian accent rang throughout the other's mind, surprising him with the spider's feelings towards him as well, "Maybe one day that will happen." They left to go sleep again, the rain would keep them away from much work that day.
One bump. Two bumps in the forest. Vibrating then filled the ground, and then water.
Water.
It flooded in the trees, knocking almost all of them down. But it was clean water. And when it flowed away back into the river it came from, it was still perfectly clean. Two trees stood in the middle, close together, branches growing slowly out of both the two and twining together. They were small, frail, and with no leaves, but they still managed to survive the flood. The leaves from the others had flowed away and grass, flattened in one direction, replaced it. Dark grey in the sky was replaced by white, somehow sun beamed down on the broken forest. The fallen trees disappeared. Forest no more. It was a field now. And it was beautiful.
Tailgatingpaw woke up to Larry not beside him. He smiled and yawned, but nothing happened to his body. He could feel himself saying, [b]"Tailgatingpaw?" The body of Larry was still asleep. His body rolled over to see the spider. "Why can I see myself asleep?" he spoke. Then, a glance of his paws, and Tailgatingpaw had a rush of "I know what is happening" through his head. That was Larry voice in his body, a tiny bit lighter. Wait, if Larry is in my body- The cat thought, -then I must be in my mind! "Huh..." Tailgatingpaw, or now Larry, said as he heard the voice, "Who's there?" Tailgatingpaw said telepathically, "LARRY! I'm here! I think you got in my body, but I didn't get into yours." Larry walked out of the tent, unzipping it with a claw. He started to walk into camp, smiling. [b]"You're not worried about this at all? What if somebody notices?" Larry responded with his accent that was nothing like his companions, forgetting to keep it to the two, "With your low social status, I doubt anybody will notice." Oh boy. He's gonna ruin me. The one inside the mind thought, and probably the spider-now-cat knew it.
