Rosekit lifted her head and nodded. "Sure if you like, but i think i can handle it" The lynx-point meowed, before knuding the leaves and other misfortunate herbs out of the den.
Rosepaw pricked her ears and watched as a cat limped into the Medicine cats den. "Hello?" the apprentice meowed. "Do you need something?"
Rosepaw walked up beside the raccoon, brushing her fur along his pelt. "Meeko, try running your nose and whiskers gently over her leg" The apprentice meowed softly. "Try to identify by yourself just where exactly the break it. You shouldnt hurt her while doing this." meowed Rosepaw. "I swear to starclan. You may feel a small indention, or something might feel out of place"
The Lynx-point apprentice grinned at her friend. He could do it. He already knew the right herbs to use.
Rosepaw looked at the she-cat, it seemed that maybe she was alittle off on where exactly the break was, but she would let her partner figure that out. "once were done patching you up, i will see if Snowbird or treski will let us give you a few poppyseeds so you can sleep. They may let you stay in the Medicine den for a couple of days;; just to make sure nothing wrong happens during the nex few days, that is the most crucial part because your body wil be trying to repair itself"
Rosepaw came running to the aid of the she-cat. Her ears were pricked and she watched as the pregnant queen lied down, making sure her swolen belly was to the side. The apprentice watched as a contraction passed through Moonglow. "Shh" the lynx-point she-cat meowed softly. "Dont worry, everything is fine. I dont know your mate.. You may just haveto wait for him to come on his own"
A flick of her ear, and a lash of her striped tail showed the small tension in Rosepaw. "They will be here any moment.. Come do you think you can move alittle closer to the back of the Medicine den? It will be warmer"
Rosepaw looked at Meeko, distress in her eyes. "Where is Snowbird and Treski when you need them" she hissed to the Raccoon, making sure that only he would hear her. She didnt think any herbs were ever used in birthing, unless something went wrong... Oh she hoped nothing DID go wrong... "Your doing amazing" She purred to the queen, as the lynx-point moved to stand infront of her stomach and hind legs. "in a few moments you are going to felt the heaviest and most painful contraction you've had so far.. Once you do take deep breath and push as hard as you have ever pushed. Understand Moonglow?"
Rosepaw gave a quick flick of her whiskers. He had found the break. "So .. Um.. Do you know what do now?" She asked her partner, giving a small smile to him. She hadnt learned anything about breaks yet.. So she wasnt sure. Usually the apprentice learned by watching Snowbird but lately the she-cat had started to do things on her own, instead of being Snowbirds shadows 24/7
Rosepaw laughed, walking back into the den. "I Know what you mean, it seems alot of kits and apprentice;; not to mention warriors come in here either asking to help, are sick, or injured themselves in the most bizzare of ways" She meowed. Her tail flicked Meeko's side softly as she playfully cuffed his ear. The raccoon was her partner in crime, her newest friend from which Rosepaw was happy and proud to have. She knew what it felt like to feel excluded, different from everyone else. So to her, it felt like an instant connection between them.
"Also you were going to help me clear out all these leaves" Rosepaw pointed out, knowing that he had never said that, but was hoping he would choose to help anyways. Her blue eyes pleaded with the need to be helped, and she emitted a small whine like a dog; she picked that up from Treski.
That was right, she recalled Snowbird mentioning it once before but that was back when she was a kit... "Comfrey to help heal broken bones" She purred, happy with herself, and with Meeko helping her to remember. The apprentice turned and walked over to where the herbs her kept and gazed around looking for the large leaves that would give away the Comfrey. "Ah ha" Rosepaw meowed, before gently taking the leaves in her mouth and bounding back over to her partner. "er ew oh" she mumbled through the herbs.
"What talent?" The apprentice gasped dramatically, before giggling. "Of course i know your kidding" she purred before licking his muzzle. "Come on, lets see if we can get these all cleared out before any more cats come in and bring more leaves and who know what"
Rosepaw nodded, brushing her pelt against Meekos. She was tensed and ready to rush out in a moments notice.
"not in your stomach" She replied, laughing at him. The raccoon looked silly, and cute at the same time. Heh! What a sight. "Just outside of camp is what i was doing with the leaves, but the old herbs i was taking farther out, away from wandering kits"
Rosepaw picked up a small she-kit and placed her between the apprentices's paws before gently licking it's fur in the opposite direction. Slowly the small bundle began to squirm and mewl for its mother's milk. A purr of happiness swelled up in the apprentices chest.
Rosepaw nodded her head in agreement with Meeko, but made sure to back away a few pawsteps. "Thats right, we will both be here" she meowed, exchanging a look with her raccoon friend. Happiness danced in her eyes.
Without a moment of hesitation, Rosepaw knudged Meeko before darting out of the den. She wasnt to familiar with this territory (if at all) and Stopped short of herself... Trees.. and bushs.. Find some and you will more then likely find an abandoned spider web.
"Thin webs" She replied. They may be hidden deep inside a bush.. " Rosepaw meowed.
Rosepaw placed the mewling kit beside her mother before taking another and doing the same. When she heard the cries of hunger coming from her lips, the apprentice place the she-kit beside her mothers stomach. "There" She purred. "Four beautiful kits, your mate will be so proud"
Rosepaw blinked and dashed to the females side. "are you hurt?" She meowed. "Wait arnt you the cat who just had her kits. Oh my! Are they ok?!"
Rosepaw growled from the back of the den and moved forward to stand protectively beside Meeko, her tail lieing on his back. "Yes he is fine, but he is probably getting irritated because you wont take good advice. You really should be back in the nursery." She grumbled. Usually the apprentice was NEVER this snappy, but lately with no sleep.. Well... She wasnt going to be making any new friends soon thats for sure. Hoping to calm down and seek comfort, she pushed her head against the raccoons side and muttered something about 'annoying kits' that only Meeko could hear. Had i really been like this too?
Rosepaw stiffened, her ears lowering ever so slightly. What? She wanted to be snowbirds apprentice? But.. she was supposed to be her mentor... The lynx-point bowed her head.
