[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]Mangopaw was... leaving? The ginger feline had been in been in StormClan since before Venus had joined, she couldn't just.. leave. The lynx knew that Skuli was the apprentice's father.. had his death jarred her so much that she couldn't stand to stay? That was reasonable, and Vee would respect Mango's decision to leave. It was too late to say goodbye, or wish her luck, or tell her to visit, so all that Venus did was emit a small, melancholy sigh through her nose and dip her head in farewell, even though Mangopaw couldn't see.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]She had only had the pleasure of interacting with Skuli a few times, but Venus had no reason not to respect him. He had raised two successful children, had gotten promoted himself, and had always been relatively loyal to StormClan. Unfortunately, after his demotion, Vee had seen less and less of the black and white cat around, but that didn't mean that her respect for him had wavered.

Approaching on silent paws, the warrior would seat herself next to Spidersilk, not wanting to intrude upon the last, sorrowful moments that Darkpaw would be sharing with his father. It was a sad day, and Venus wished the deputy a speedy recovery from the loss. She would stay here the whole night, silently standing guard, but Vee had no words to offer that would console the members who were suffering from this tragedy.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]This was her weekly task, and it was a rather new one for her. Vee had never had to instruct anyone on how to fight, except for her apprentice, Mistypaw (wherever she was). That being said, the lynx liked to think that she had done a pretty decemt job training her, so it would be a piece of cake with these guys, yeah? Sure.

"Come over here if you're interested in learning some battle techniques!" Venus yowled, taking a seat and waiting for the members to gather. First, she would teach them some basic defensice moved — because in her opinion, knowimg how to defend oneself was better than knowing how to attack, although both were equally as important.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]"If I was bleeding out on the battlefield, would you still ask me for permission?" Venus asked with a grin. Sure, a broken leg and a fatal slice were most definitely not the same, but the analogy still stood. "That was a yes," the lynx clarified with a snort of amusement. Dottie was just too dang polite sometimes, not that that was necessarily a bad thing, it just proved to be an.. inconvenience, sometimes.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]Alright, well, this would do for now. Hopefully others would show up, whether they participated or not. "Alright, first things first, I'm going to teach you guys some defensive moves. So, basically, all you have to do is just keep your opponent from knocking your feet out frmo under you, but defensive movess are essentially useless unless you know offensive moves as well." Venus motioned for an NPC to step forward - he would be her test dummy. "Attack me," Vee commanded with a curt nod towards the feline.

He jumped forward and attempted to lash a paw out and hit Vee in the head, but the lynx countered the attack by leaping to the side. "Jumping out of the way is usually the no-brainer solution to countering an offensive attack, it's the simplest, easiest, and it works most of the time. That being said, don't want for your opponent to attack you again, so launch an offensive attack." Then, since the NPC had tumbled into the dirt, Venus jumped on his back and sank her teeth into his scruff (so as not to hurt him), keeping her paws on his shoulder blades so he couldn't get up. "If we were really in battle, that right there would have been a deaths entence."

Stepping off of the domestic cat, she turned to her clanmates, "Any questions so far?"

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]Venus missed talking to Kaiser, mainly because he was the only one in BloodClan who seemed to actually care about what she had to say. That, and he was just charismatic as hell - what was a girl to do? The lynx was upon the borders of BloodClan, but she didn't plan on staying for long. After all, she was sure Merle would be rather jealous if he saw her sneaking off with Kaiser. That being said, what he didn't know didn't hurt him. Normally, Vee wouldn't have thought that, but, well, that was the way the cookie crumbled.

"Kaiser?" Venus hissed quietly, green eyes glancing around for the handsome canine.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]Venus didn't know what to do, she was conflicted. She loved Merle, sure, but she sort of loved Bucky (though she'd never admit it), and she was pretty sure Kaiser had a thing for her, which was fine with her because he was cute, albeit weird. This wasn't something she could talk to Bucky about, obviously, so she decided to ask the next best person.

She had already been in BloodClan because she was visiting a friend, and although she had heard Sola resided in the Rift now, maybe she'd catch a break. "Sola? Are you around?" Although she was happy her boyfriend was leader, it was really odd not seeing Sola in the leader's den.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]Venus, on the other hand, was not religious at all, and she'd had so much shit handed to her that she didn't care if she killed her enemies. That was what battle was about, if you didn't kill them, they would kill you — survival of the fittest, after all. Besides, StormClan rarely ever raided anyone, so it wasn't like they'd be killing anyone anytime soon; though maybe Vee would capture someone just for fun. Hm. It certainly sounded fun.

"Alright, moving on," the female decided upon. After she went over a few more basic techniques, she'd partner people up (or ask them to find a partner, whichever worked quicker) and ask them to demonstrate what they knew, or had learned. "More defensive slash counter attacks." The lynx offered another nod to the NPC to signal he was free to launch another attack.

This time, he circled around to the side and aimed to tackle her, but he didn't tackle her, he just brushed Vee's side in an attempt to startle her while he then tried to kick her back legs out from under her. Good, he was learning. Venus fell for the decoy and had been about to leap forward when she felt her back legs get swept to the side, and she fell down. Quickly leaping to her paws, she jutted her back legs out to kick the flank of her opponent and cause him to stumble over. After that, Venus took a seat. "What he just did — that was a good trick. Touch their side or flank to distract them from your true objective. In this case, it was sweeping me off my feet." Ha. She offered a grin at that. "That's a dangerous move, though, as you post the risk of moving too slow or missing your target, and boom, your head or paws are trampled. That being said, though, it's very effective. His mistake was, however, not launching a second attack after I fell. You got to recover quickly before they have a chance to get the upper hand, again." Venus was panting slightly - battle training always got her adrenaline pumping.

"Then, there's frontal attacks. Those are the least effective. The most effective are attacks from behind, though they're more difficult considering it's hard to get your enemy to face away from you unless you have invisibility or other ppwers." This wasn't a power training, though. "A recap — defensive movies include: side-stepping and blocking. Counter attacks: kicking, hitting, jumping. Offensive attacks: leg sweep, jumps from the side or behind, clawing, etcetera. Those can all switch categories, but that's just basic stuff."

Vee had never held one of these before, so hopefully it was going smoothly. "If there aren't any questions, I'd like you to partner up. If there is an odd number, someone can partner with me."

    /mobile, pls excuse typos

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]"I'll take a check up," the lynx shrugged, overhearing Dottie's inquiry. She was certain that her health was fine, but it couldn't hurt to have a quick once-over. Besides, maybe Bloomingskies would find something that Vee wasn't even aware of - though as unlikely as that may be, it was still a possibility.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]in the guide under the description for senior warriors it says "a semi-high position" xD

    but thanks for making this!

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]"Come over here if you're interesting in helping out with a border patrol. It won't be boring, because I have something planned," the lynx commented with a grin as she waited patiently by the camp exit. Venus knew how boring patrols could be, which was why the master warrior was intent on making this a bit more fun than usual.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]"Thank you for the invite!" Venus purred, giving a small smile. "Sure, we'll attend. Can't wait to meet you all!" She added pleasantly, green eyes bright as she gave a respectful dip of her head towards the Olypian. Personally, Vee had never heard of them, but meeting new groups was always pretty darn exciting.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]Oh, these were Silverbeam's kittens, right? Venus had only had the pleasure of meeting the she-wolf once or twice, but she had always thought she was very nice. The lynx flicked her ears, frowning slightly as she heard one of the kitten's inquire as to if she had seem their mother. "She's not with you?" Vee asked, though the question was really more rhetorical than anything — obviously she wasn't with them. [b]"No, I haven't seen her. Would you like me to help look for her?"

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]Venus kept telling herself that there was no harm in seeing Kaiser, though she knew that certainly wasn't true. Friends of the opposite gender didn't typically visit each other in secret without telling their significant others, and that was exactly what Venus was doing. She kept attempting to convince herself that her feelings for Kaiser were simply just.. temporary, and perhaps they were, but the lynx was doing her best to try and suppress them - she didn't share Merle's promiscuity.

Speaking of that, the more Vee thought about it, the more pissed off she got. Venus had been nothing but faithful to Merle, and he kept having sex with her brother and all of his other stupid fuckin' friends. The first time, she'd been pissed, sure, but he'd apologized and said he'd been drunk (go figure), but a second time? Of course, being the type of girl she was, Vee hadn't brought it up with him; no point in upsetting him, right? Whatever. So, due to that, the StormClanner had absolutely no plans to reveal her feelings for Kaiser to her estranged boyfriend. He had his secrets, she had hers.

At the sight of Kaiser, the wildcat's expression brightened and she offered a grin, "Do you have time to talk?" She asked, looking slightly embarrassed. She'd walked all the way from StormClan to BloodClan simply to complain - hopefully he didn't mind. "I just.. I dunno. I don't have anyone else to talk to, I guess. Not that you're a last choice, you were actually the first person I went to." Oh, she was rambling. "Sorry," Venus added sheepishly, chuckling briefly to undermine the fact she'd let herself get so quickly flustered.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]The lynx fluffed her fur up against the chill of the breeze, shuffling her paws as the silence between them continued to stretch out. It hadn't been too long, but to Vee, it had felt like forever. Her ears perked as he began to speak, and a wave of relief washed over the feline as Bucky continued. "Good," she grinned.

Her grin didn't last long, though, as the shepherd-mix went on to explain the nightmares he suffered from, and her brow was once again furrowed in concern for the SunClan deputy. She cared about him, perhaps more than she'd admit (and had she known about him and Mistdream, Vee likely would have had to suppress a pang of jealousy), and to learn that he was still going through the aftermath of what ColouredClan had done to him made her mad at those who'd done this to Bucky. "I have something for you," she mewed after a few seconds, reaching into the small bag she had brought with her and pulling out a dream-catcher. It was primarily brown, though the design inside of the circle was a (fairly) symmetrical array of shapes that sort of resembled a carnation flower, if one had any imagination. Hanging from the circle were a few osprey feathers that she had picked up. "It's a dream-catcher," the lynx explained with a small shrug, "you hang it above your head at night, and it's supposed to trap your nightmares. I made it for myself a long time ago, but you need it more than me."

Nightmares were something that Venus had not experienced in about a year, though she always slept with the dream-catcher above her bed anyways, and the female saw no point in keeping it if it was only going to collect dust. Besides, her nightmares were nowhere near as vivid as Bucky's seemed to be. "And if you ever wake up with really bad ones, I'm only a few territories away," Venus grinned, a small laugh accompanying the words. Of course, she didn't really expect him to take a nightly excursion just to find comfort from bad dreams, but if he ever felt the need to, she wouldn't mind. Bucky could've woken her up in the middle of the night to tell her to check out a cool bug he saw, and Vee still wouldn't have minded.

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; overflow: none; width: 480px;][justify]Ooh, Venus loved this idea! Strong bonds with allies was something that the lynx always enjoyed emphasizing, and she had had plans to set up an ambassador program to ensure relationships remained positive, but it had gotten buried in the list of unfinished projects that the lynx had yet to complete - sometimes she bit off more than she could chew, heh.

"That would be great, Twilight!" The master warrior purred, nodding her head in agreement with the ideas. Perhaps this would be what StormClan needed, things had been a bit stagnant and dull lately, so interactions with allies would be beneficial to both her Clan and the Arcane. And they got to add input to ideas? That was Vee's specialty. "Do you have any events planned as of yet, or were you waiting to collaborate with us before coming up with any?" Venus asked curiously.
