she'd been the one to greet her. to show her around. they'd become friends in the short time the cub had with her. and now she was gone, and the lioness didn't know how to feel besides the aching loneliness and utter betrayal she felt.

that was selfish, wasn't it? to feel betrayed when your friend took their own life? no, suicide was selfish. how dare julia deprive her friends, deprive adaeze, of her laughter and smiles. the canine had taken her life and now, no, she wasn't the one to pay. the enterprise was. miyu, mikey, ada, and the rest. they all had to deal with this (and sebastian's demise) and nobody wanted to.

cinnamon paws approached the scene, slow and wobbly. she struggled to stand, stay on four paws steadily. there was a heaviness in her chest; her heart was most definitely sinking into her stomach. the image was seared into her mind, the one of the wolf's mangled and defeated form. tears found their way down the feline's cheeks, broken sobs tumbling from her poly-chromatic maw.
