However, even the loud sounds of water falling from the rocks wasn't enough to drown out his thoughts. There was so much to reflect on, but he needed to think about it somewhere where no one else was. That's why he had come to the waterfall.
Sure, it was loud, but that was okay. Shuffledcub didn't mind. He skipped a few rocks onto the water as he thought about his past. He was only two months old, so his past wasn't some giant life novel. No- it was short but bittersweet.
The main thought that drifted into his mind was about his parents. Mom and dad. Acutally, it was more like dad. He never had a chance to meet his mother. Such a shame it was really, that he was separated from her at birth.
Who forced them apart again? Oh that's right. It was his father who did. To be perfectly honest, Shuffy was still pretty sore about that. Next thing you know he was left to fend for himself. It all happened so fast, and it was all so terrible. But that's life, and you have to make the most of it.
Now, his parents were the least of his worries. They should be far from his mind. He was now part of a wonderful, strong clan, had shelter and food, and finally felt like he belonged. But still, the thought of his parents constantly bugged him every second of his life.
Why him?
Why did he have to be the blind abandoned loser? Why not some other little kid in this massive world? Who knows why he had to go through all this. Maybe some things were meant to happen for a reason.
Sighing, the snow leopard cub gathered to his paws and began to take a stroll back to camp. He knew that he shouldn't be dwelling about this, and that he could turn his life around and make the best of it. But it wasn't that easy. Maybe his father taking him from his mother and then leaving him behind was what ultimately caused him to be such an anti-social skittish little freak.
Shuffledcub reached camp, head hung low. He put on a fake smile, hoping for nobody to see the conflicting emotions that he was feeling right now. He didn't want anybody to think less of him.
He supposed it was time to leave his dreaded past behind and focus on now. And that's exactly what he'd do, starting this very moment.
