Aurora gasped. "S-Sire, please. You mustn't inform the Quuen that you saw this." She pleaded, yanking her lace sleeve back down. She stopped her horse, sadness and fear in her cold gray eyes.

Perfect c:
Ellie had to do a double take out the stained glass windows. Was that... A carriage? No one ever visited the palace. The palace needed to be renewed. It was several hundred years old. The founder of their noble kingdom walked these very halls, as well as every King since then. Ellie quickly stood up and rushed down to the main doors, but she stayed out of sight. She wanted to know what was going on, but her mother would deal with it.
-
Aurora let her curls cover her face. "It's my mother. She just wants me to be the perfect princess and reel in this handsome, rich king. But it appears she did that on her own. She wants me to be perfect, but with each hit, I get worse, and she gets angrier. It's a vicious cycle." She choked out, straining to keep a steady voice. One arm was covered with bruises. The other, her own self inflicted wounds.
-
"I don't know." She gave a defeated sigh. "I don't know how to please her. I'm an accomplished pianist with many published pieces, I can retell the entire history of our kingdom as of it were a bedtime story, I practice my ballet every single day. What else am I supposed to do? Not even she can count once that I have ever fallen behind on my royal duties." She sighed sadly, feeling a tear slip down her face.
-
If you want to, sure. You can take her the next post.
Ellie was confused. She was the only child... Had her mother already started calling in suitors?
The Queen gave a satisfied smile. "Perfect. May I introduce Princess Ellie." She motioned over to Ellie's hiding spot, where a servant from nowhere gave the Princess a shove, sending her stumbling out into their presence. She gave a slight curtsey. "My Lord... Mother..." She gave a guilty half smile.
-- refer back to the first post, where it described the queen to be rather neglective/abusive towards the Princess. Not necessarily in front of others, but just keep it in mind.
-
"My Lord.." She stared, looking up at him. "This has been going on my whole life. It will never stop, not until the day she dies. It won't matter if I am a Queen or not. It's in her nature. I never knew my father, but the palace maids tell me stories about when she was the most compassionate queen you would ever know. But after my father's death, she left it up to whoever got around to it to care for me." She explained.
-
Ellie dipped her head. "And you, My Lord.." She gave a small smile.
The Queen, Seifa, turned to her daughter. "Ellie, my precious dove, why dont you go show off your music skills and perform Fur Elise on the grand piano for our guest?" She suggested, but Ellie knew well enough that it was definitely an order, not a suggestion. "Of course." Ellie smiled slightly, dipping her head at Drake and making her way over to the instrument. Seifa led them closer to her. While Ellie seated herself, she suddenly felt very nervous. "Please note that I have not get perfected it. Please pardon any mistakes." And with that, she began to play. -
Aurora suddenly felt extremely stupid. Her face flushed red with embarrassment. "O-of course. I'm sorry, Sire. I'm not thinking straight today..." She stuttered, looking away.
-
Ellie let out a sigh of relief when she had played the song flawlessly. She smiled and looked up at her audience. Seifa smiled proudly "Ellie has several published pieces on the piano aand violin that are played all over the continent!" She explained. Ellie felt heat rush to her face. "She is also fluent in French, German, Swedish, Finnish, and Italian, as well as Russian." The Queen continued to boast.
"Mother, please." Ellie raised her hand. "Surely he didn't come all this way just to hear about my accomplishments? With every accomplishments, there is also a failure. It may seem as though I have everything handled, but indeed, I do mess up more times than I don't." She gave Drake a genuine smile. Her honesty was a bad move, and Seifa would ensure that she paid for it later. -
"It's not that bad." She smiled slightly, tucking a curl behind a pierced ear.
-
Ellie ignored her mother's glare. "I try to be as wise as I can. It'll pay off when I'm Queen someday." She smiled. Her heart was beating insanely fast, and she looked faint. Speaking of.... Ellie suddenly dropped to the floor. Her tiara clattered away, landing under the piano. Ellie had fainted. Her mother had put her under too much pressure.
"Ellie!" Seifa gasped in mock surprise, but it wasn't very convincing.
-
"For goodness sakes, Ellie." Seifa grumbled. "Follow me." She ordered, bending over and picking up the tiara. She led the way to Ellie's sleeping quarters. Inside was a large bed with a flowy, white canopy over the head of it. It lay in between two stained glass windows, which didn't let much light in with the darkening sky of an awful storm. "Just set her down on her bed. She has a disorder, this is normal." Seifa assured, setting the tiara on her vanity desk. "When she awakes, she will join us for tea. " she smiled, leaving the room.
-
Ellie looked troubled. Not being alert, she didn't attempt to cover up her scars and bruises over her arms and neck. Ellie's eyes shot open and she gasped loudly, fighting to get air into her lungs. She quickly sat up, breathing heavily. She looked genuinely frightened.
The Queen had shut the heavy wooden door, intending on locking it, but then thought better of it.
-
Ellie wasn't sure if she had seen correctly- was the King in her bedroom? She watched him stumble out before she could say anything. Her heart still pounding, she crawled out of bed and froze when a huge bolt of lightning lit up everything in the room. She was horrified of storms. The thunder always gave her such horrible migraines, she was often sick to her stomach. She ran tothe door, covering her ears from the deafening thunder. SShejogged down the corridor. "My Lord?" She called. Luckily, the Queen had gone to her study, clear across the palace.
-
"T-thank you, for carrying me to my bedroom. I was aware enough to know what was going on in my surroundings." She said softly.
-
Ellie laughed and moved a little closer "Don't be so timid, My Lord. I'm not the judgy type, I promise." She smiled slightly. She was so caught up in what had happened, she forgot all of her bruises were perfectly visible.
-
She froze. "W-what happened? Nothing happened." She scoffed, moving away quickly.
-
"Sire, please..." She whispered, trying to pull away. Seifa watched from around the corner. Witha sweep of her elegant burgundy gown, she was in veiw. "What the hell is going on?!" She demanded, taking Ellie by the throat and pinning her against the cobblestone wall. Ellie gasped. "I ddidn't do anything! Please, not again!" She begged, tears quickly surfacing.
-
"I know exactly what was going on. I was right around the corner, I'm not deaf!" She hissed. She didn't press down on Ellie's thought, but she raised a hand and slapped her, harshly. She let her go and allowed her to fall to the ground, where the Princess sat up and held her reddened cheek, not daring look up.
-
Seifa turned and glared at him. "I beg your pardon? You have no say in how I treat my daughter. I went through thirty hours of labor to deliver her, I will treat her as I see fit. You are a guest in my kingdom, and I can have you thrown into the dungeons if I deem it necessary." She threatened. She knelt down to Ellie's level and grabbed her face. "One more toe out of line, and I will have you publicly executed." She snarled, standing up again and walking away. Ellie's eyes were huge. She watched her mother walk away and she stood up, brushing off her midnight blue gown. "I-I'm sorry, My Lord... I tried to warn you not to bring it up.." She stammered nervously.
