Echostep looked up at Darkheart, not liking the feeling Echostep stood up now standing at the same height. Echostep hissed taking a step closer now in Darkheart's face "I could ask the same for you, is there something I should know about you and Skypelt? She seemed scared when she ran out... almost like a fox was after her. What was that about? Also Hawkbreeze and I are mates, now back down." Echostep hissed, the fur on his neck rising slightly.

"I will. You stay here, can you pass out patrols today while I sort this out?" Echostep asked, as he bound out of the camp, following Darkheart's and Skypelt's scent, but keeping a distance.

Echostep followed behind Darkheart his paw steps matching Darkhearts as not to get caught. "Skypelt, come back please!" Darkheart's pleaded. His pleads were answered when Skypelt stepped out of a bush. "What do you want?" She spat. "I want to apologize, I shouldn't have acted that way when I found out you were going to have my kits. I'm really sorry Skypelt, please believe me." Echostep couldn't believe what was going on, this cat with so much hate towards him be so gentle and sweet towards this she-cat.
"I don't know if I can Darkheart, you've hurt my emotions a lot." Skypelt said, her eyes gleaming with new tears.
"No, please don't cry." Darkheart meowed quickly as he ran up to her and sat down whispering sweet nothings into the she-cats ear. Echostep was in disbelief.
Skypelt sniffled lightly "I'm sorry for causing this mess." Skypelt muttered. "It wasn't just your fault, we did this both together." Darkheart said causing Skypelt to laugh. "Let's get back to the tribe, the kits will love living there and we'll stick with each other the entire way. How does that sound?" Dark heart asked sweetly. "Its sounds great." Skypelt replied with a sniffle. "Then let's head back, before Echostep chews my tail off." Skypelt nodded as they both turned towards the path back home.
Both their eyes widened when they saw Echostep, "You little mouse" Darkheart hissed out, stepping in front of Skypelt.
"Before you yell at me, I just want to say congratulations." Echostep stated, before he turned his back "Now lets head back, before I chew your tail off" Echostep said with a tease in his voice as he ran as fast as he could from the hissing and spitting tom behind him.

Echostep halted quickly when he made it to the entrance to camp. In the middle was Emberstar, her pelt slicked down, her pelt straight no breathing movement at all. Darkheart crashed behind Echostep "What th-" Darkheart caught himself as he saw the scene in front of him.

"Wh-what happened?" Echostep stuttered out as Skypelt walked into the camp. The sun not having even reached the middle of the sky yet.

Echostep stared forward, his eyes glazing over as he just watched the dead leader. Walking forward Echostep pushed passed Hawkbreeze and went to the leader. "No..." He muttered as he collapsed next to Emberstar. Getting into a better position Echostep put his face in Emberstar's pelt "Why?" He called out loud his voice hoarse with tears as they poured from his eyes onto Emberstar's pelt.

Echostep shook his head against Emberstar's fur. "No its not, she brought me into this tribe. What will I do without her here? " Echostep asked helplessly as the tears continued to fall from his eyes.

Echostep nodded, as he sat up tears still flowing from his eyes, but not as heavy now. "I must head to the moonstone then, before moonhigh when my new deputy must be appointed." Echostep announced standing now. "Hawkbreeze, Foxstep, and Hollynight, please join me there for me to receive my nine lives." Echostep asked now.

"Oh yes.." Echostep said trailing off. "Let us start off then Weepingcloud" Echostep completed as he began walking to Hawkbreeze. "Stay safe." He whispered in her ear before making his was to the entrance with Weepingcloud.

Echostep and Weepingcloud started on their journey, first making their way off the mountain down into the other clan territories. It was a smooth journey only stopping when patrols would stop them, but nothing bad had happened... maybe a sign from the ancestor warriors for Echostep becoming leader, or just coincidence.

The two had made to the moonstone as the sun started to set. They both walked in going down the spiraling decline. Echostone laid down at the stone touching his nose to it, his body shivering as he went into a deep slumber.

Emberstar was the first to show up "I see you have come" Echostep just nodded "I have come to become a-" "I know what you have come for Echostep, and I shall give you at least one life, for other cats are here to give you more." The she-cat meowed. Suddenly Emberstar touched his nose "I give you this life for the love of the tribe, you came seeking a tribe to live in and thats part of the love that has grown." Emberstar stepped back, as a new starry figure appeared.
"Jaywing..." Echostep whispered. "It is I, I am here to give you your second life. Wisdom, I may have been an old warrior when I passed but I was wise, and I pass it to you now." Jaywing touched his nose causing pain to erupt on Echostep's head.
When the pain was over, Jaywing backed up to where Emberstar was as seven other cats came and gave him his lifes.

As Echostep earned his last life Emberstar came fourth again. "Welcome as a leader now Echostar." With that the nine cats chanted his new name Echostar as he awoke. "Shall we head back now? I must announce a deputy." Echostar announced, standing up. "U-uh yes, we shall." Weepingcloud said quickly standing up. "Shall we run through a territory so we can get home faster?" Echostar asked. "I think we should, I need to get rid of this pent up energy anyway."
And with that they climbed out of the Moonstone and made their way home.

Echostar and Weepingcloud made it to the second territory before Weepingcloud had to take a break "I'm out of shape, maybe I should start training so I'm not slow." Weepingcloud wheezed. "Maybe you should. Let's just take a little break so you can catch your breath again." Echostar announced as he sat down, watching around them.

Echostar finally made it back to the mountain. Climbing up her got to the entrance with Weepingcloud he heard the weeping of a cat. "Weepingcloud you can head to bed." Echostar said dismissing the medicine cat. Weepingcloud nodded as Echostar went to investigate.
Finding Hawkbreeze, Echostar went to her "Whats wrong?" He asked, sitting next to his mate.

"I know you would never mean for this to happen Hawkbreeze. Could you tell me who? Who is the father?" Echostar asked. Soothingly licking Hawkbreeze's cheek.

Echostar quickly looked to the entrance seeing Foxstep. Getting up Echostar ran after him, once he caught him right outside the entrance Echostar hissed in his face. "Why would you be fox-brained enough to hurt my mate?" Echostar hissed. Not waiting for a reply Echostar grabbed Foxstep by the scruff of his neck. Overpowering Foxstep, Echostar dragged him into the clearing of the camp. Dropping him, Echostar placed his front paws down onto Foxstep to keep him from escaping. "Tribe of the Rising Sun I would like to announce a clan meeting, all warriors and apprentices please come forth!" Echostar was loud and clear waking all the sleeping cats with his command.

The warriors and apprentices all gathered around him, looking at the captive cat and Echostar. "Today Emberstar has passed, I went to the Moonstone to get my nine lives. I am now Echostar and my deputy shall be Honeythistle." Echostar paused as everyone chanted his name. "Also, when I arrived back here, I was surprised by something. MY mate Hawkbreeze will be expecting kits." Again he paused as cats cheered. "One last thing. Foxstep has been accused of treason against our clan. He has terrorized my mate and has gone against the warrior code. He will be banished from the clan and will be forced to live the life of the rogue. He will not be accepted into this clan or anyothers from this moon forth." Echostar announced loudly under the clear night sky. Echostar got off Foxstep, as Foxstep got up and the warriors advanced on the cat. "Please no, you misunderstood." Foxstep tried to reason. "There was no misunderstanding involved. Warriors treat to this fox-brain." Echostar announced as he turned his back on the warriors advancing on the retreating tom.

Echostar made sure the warriors came back before making his way to his new den, and falling asleep. 'Definitely going to get Hawkbreeze to move up here tomorrow' He thought before he drifted off to sleep.

Echostar awoke at dawn, as he stepped out of his new den he looked down at deputy rock seeing Honeythistle already doing her job. Making his way down, Echostar went to Honeythistle "How's it going?" He asked. Honethistle just looked at him and nodded as she put out more patrols. Echostar began walking away before he remembered "Honeythistle, don't forget tonight is the gathering." He meowed before making his way to the fresh-kill pile.

Echostar finished his prey, as he saw Hawkbreeze by the warriors den eating. Getting up he went to her "You okay?" He asked, gently licking her forehead.

"It'll all be okay" Echostar said, then leaned in to whisper "The kits can be mine, no one has to know our secret." He made sure to be quiet about it so no one but them heard as he laid down next to her.
