After a quick smile and wave, Loren headed off in the direction of his dorm. Could these people be his first friends in a century? Was he really ready to like anyone again? His past experiences had taught him that it was better to not love than to love and lose...
No. It had been 100 years since Lenora. 100 years. He was ready, and he wasn't going to let anything happen to his friends. Not this time, not any time.

Hmm. The girl riding the Flygon, whatever her name was, had a ok point. There was one heck of a lot more alleyways and such in Castelia, but one heck of a lot more people too. Which way they went wasn't really her decision, but she may as well provide them with as much info as possible. "Castilia is to the south, if you wanna go there."

"Well, yeah. The only other thing that is this way is the gym, if I'm remembering correctly," Loren responded, trying to get his pace to match Maire's. Of course, he could have just forgotten the school's layout entirely. After 100 or so years of life, he had pretty much trained himself to forget everything that wasn't that important. Honestly, school wasn't terribly important to him, so he could be very wrong about the school's layout.
Edit: Lost in his own little world, Ariel's hello nearly went completely over the demon's head. "Yo," He began, turning to face the new girl. [b]"Need directions? Friends? Incredible powers? I'm open to help you with all of these." -

Ara had only personally been to this town all of about once, but she could definitely remember the parks. They had her absolute favorite aesthetic, one that she had quite often tried to imitate in her room, but always failed to do so. The place always got flooded with posters of her favorite books and movies. That, and various plants, usually cacti.
Adjusting her train of thought away from useless subjects like her room, Ara responded to Riley with, [b]"I'll head there then. Meet you guys there!"Ooc: Not sure if this is worth mentioning, but I was about to mention tumblr in this post (with the whole imitating the aesthetic thing)...but then on remembered that tumblr doesn't exist in the Fairy Tail universe.

@mari, Camina is open to have a roommate, or uh, housemate I guess.
the garage there would be hilarious
Like a cool motorcycle and a bike -
So Ariel was a ghost then? She had to be the most powerful ghost Loren had ever seen, as most ghosts he had heard of weren't even visible. Maybe her power had come from the deals she had made. Maybe.
Evangeline either had a psychic map, or she was psychic. Both of these prospects were equally terrifying. Well, the idea of Eva being a psychic was more terrifying, but has anyone ever considered the power of a psychic map? There was more than meets the eye there.
Nova returned to the scene as well, there was really no losing her was there? Not that Loren was complaining, he quite enjoyed company after all. In fact, he quite liked the entire 'squad', which was unusual for him. He hadn't liked this many people in a while.
Responding to Ariel, he said "A ghost huh? Interesting. I haven't met many ghosts who's mission statement wasn't 'Scare things for no reason.' But then again, I haven't met many ghosts in general. But I have to say, you're the best one I've met thus far." Turing his attention to Eva, he continued with "I know I'm having trouble finding my dorm. Either I'm blind, or they hid the place pretty well. And I know I'm not blind. -
Relia used her spear to pole-vault out of the way of the intense flames, still catching the very edge of them. After landing, she hurriedly patted the flames out of her clothes, only to be interrupted by another guard. Her clothes still burning a bit on the ends, she saluted the new arrival and said "I'm sorry sir, but I have a duty to protect this town. You and I are of the same guard, correct? So I do believe you know this better than most. I'll hold help hold that thing, whatever it may be, back. You continue to get the townspeople out of here." Realizing that her clothes were still ablaze, she quickly patted the flames completely out, and rushed off to the smoking town. "Sorry about the fight! Won't happen again!" she yelled back, taking one final look at the guard. She changed her Enchant to Attack before rushing in the town's gates.

Evangeline could read minds? This prospect left Loren with two options. Either tone down the dirty thoughts, or ramp them up to discourage her from reading his mind. Either worked. Of course, he could always just try to keep his mind a blank, but that was impossible. Directing his attention to the map, he traced out the route to his dorm. Turns out they did keep the place pretty well hidden. He handed the map back off to Eva. "At least I know where I'm going now. Although I just have to say, what kind of idiot hides a dorm all the way back there? I don't want to have to walk 500 miles just to get to any of my classes. I hope you guys at least got better dorm placements.
-
Well, he couldn't think of tacos, because that's what literally everyone thought of when they did the whole 'Can you read my mind?' thing. Thinking of something like butts would be expected of him, so that was out. Loren eventually decided on just thinking of ice cream. No one would expect a demon from the underworld (which mind you, was pretty much constantly on fire) to like ice cream, let alone think of ice cream. Snapping out of his inner ramblings, he decided it best to let Eva know he wasn't horribly offended by her mind-reading or anything. While he figured she knew that, it would be best to at least clarify. "Eh, it's fine. If you've got an amazing power, it only makes sense to use it. But thanks for turning it off. My thoughts are not something you want to poke around in, trust me."

IC: It was nice to finally have a day off, from both pack work and human work. Nearly every day was the same, heal that, patch up this, stop internal bleeding there, honestly it was nice to catch a break. Camina sat down in a booth seat next to the window, looking out into her small hometown. Sure, it was cute and quaint, but she had always hoped for a bit more. Although, it's not like she could leave, as she was bound here by her pack. Snapping out of her reverie, she sat up, ready to order.
Ooc: I guess I'll start off in the café as well lol -
"Actually, I was think about ice cream," Loren began, giving a smirk. "You've gotta expect the unexpected." Honestly, he hadn't even considered thinking about souls, as the whole subject brought up nothing but bad memories. Brushing soul thoughts aside, he decided to show off what he could do. After all, he wasn't all demonic deals. He lifted up his thankfully empty left hand, which then burst into black and red flames. "I can't do anything fancy, but if you need someone to commit arson, I'm your guy."
-
Using fancy one~
These are amazing by the way~

"Oh, it's fine. I can wait," Camina reassured with a small smile. Being the only waitress here, at least at the moment, must be tough. Besides, even if the lycan was angry, she couldn't bring herself to be mean to any kind of waiter, let alone her friend. Honestly, it took all her willpower not to go wolf and eat rude people. She just couldn't stand it when people were rude to those who were only trying to help.
-
"Oh, aren't you just the coolest thing to walk the planet," Loren jeered, giving a few sarcastic claps. So, Nova could use two elements? Whoop de freakin' do. The demon knew that was nothing in comparison to the power that all sirens had, but he also knew that there was no way Nova would bring that up. It was a bit controversial, to say the least. Switching his focus back to the actual conversation, he resolved not to lose the power competition, if it could be called that. "I'm not all fire and deals, Supernova. I could probably punch a hole straight through that wall," He said, gesturing to a large wall to his left.

[b]"I think he was in the bathroom for most of the trip," Ara said, raking her mind for where the designated drunk had scampered off to during the ride here. She was pretty sure he had made his way to the restrooms to barf his guts out, but she wasn't exactly sure. The Sabertooth member had been paying more attention to what was outside the window than where people where. -
"I'll take a cappuccino today, since I don't actually have to be awake, Camina responded with a giggle. Days off were really magnificent. She had thought about taking more, but alas, the world needed her. Or at least, this tiny town did. Felt like the world to her though. Although, if this town was the world, then the man sitting at one of the nearby tables was an alien. She hadn't seen his face around before, and going from the look of exhaustion on his face, he was from pretty far out. Hopefully he was friendly.
-
"Well, honestly it's about how you use your powers, not about what powers you have," Loren said with a huff, crossing his arms. That was his philosophy after all. He believed it was better to have useful powers that you would actually use in day to day life than big flashy things that you would use twice if you're lucky. Of course, Loren would always find a way to use every power he had. He wasn't exactly above committing a few crimes for a bit of fun. There was one power he should have, but could never get the hang of though. Technically, he should be able to summon up a pair of wings, but he could never do it. Something, he didn't know what, was holding him back. Continuing on his little spheal, he announced "You see, Ariel and I actually use our powers, she floats through stuff to get around, and I...well, you can guess at what I use my powers for. You on the other hand, have the morals not to use your powers for evil. And to top it off, your powers are really only useful in some situations." He took a quick pause, then started back up with a kinder tone. "Well aren't I nice? Don't take anything I say too seriously. One tends to get bitter after 115 years of life."
-
Camina gave Lidia a quick thanks for the cappuccino before taking a drink. She couldn't help but overhear something about a sighting, but of what? Rogues? Silver Order members? Really cool birds? She'd find out from Balthazar later, after all, it would be detrimental if the alien sitting across the way overheard wolf talk. As unlikely as it was, the lycan hoped it was just a bunch of birds. She absolutely loved the little nuggets. All feathery and such. Taking a look out the window she could see a couple of her feathered friends. Two gray ones. Well, actually they were more sliver. "Please don't be lazy symbolism," she thought as the two silver birds hopped closer to the café. She glared at the two avains, which then flew away.
-
It was becoming increasingly obvious that friends were not Loren's forte. At all. He was beginning to wonder why he even tried some days. All these bitter years has washed away any semblance of kindness he had left. The ego he had built up wasn't helping things either. Coming to this school was a stupid idea. Yes, it had been 100 years, and yes, he should be over it by now, but something within him refused to move on.
Oh no. No more excuses. No more dwelling on the past. He could make friends work and he was going to make friends work. But later. Sure, that might sound like an excuse, but spilling his guts and apologizing didn't seem like the best idea right now. He'd say sorry and a lot more when he saw Nova again. That is if he would see her again. Was this the best decision? Probably not. Was Loren going with it anyway? Yes.
