Miro had seen her coming, but he didn't feel alarmed. This was a cougar hotspot--a lot of mountain lions seemed to come by, and it no longer surprised him in the least. For the first time maybe since Beauty had died, he felt some slight interest stir in his mind, and he picked up and sauntered towards her. The massive male stopped before going too far.
His cubs were leaving--they had never been attached to him anyway, Kole had clear issues with him, and they were on a mission separate from his life. He watched her...
-
"I'm Miro." Well, one thing this she-cat was, was unafraid. Miro had to admire that, as unnatural as it seemed in the circumstances. He was a lot bigger than her and that was usually enough to give caution, if not outright fear, in a smaller cat. He was soon checking her out, too, scent and sight. "Good to meet you too."
-
Unnaturally large? Probably not, but he was pretty massive. "I don't mind." Miro knew there were males who were much better at this flirting game than he was. He however was not so obtuse he couldn't tell she was interested in him--likely very much so. Was she in heat? She seemed to be, or close to it. The loss of Beauty still stung, but it was like all of the darkness in his life--he had to leave it behind. Sometimes, burying your woes with mindless instinct was the way to go. "Haven't been here long myself."
-
ooc: Yes.
"Them--yeah, they don't live too much in this area," said Miro. "But they mess things up a lot. Maybe more than anything else."
Turning to Kole, he said, "Where do we go to find her? Do we have any leads? It's a big world."
-
"Putting me out of my misery, huh?" Miro wondered if he would even resist if he tried to kill him.
-
"He wouldn't do it," said Miro. Though he wasn't sure he would, if Nemu didn't want to have him die, he'd stay alive for now. He'd given people enough grief.
-
Miro looked now at Kole. Perhaps the young tom would calm down now. He knew he had no intention of going off to look for Kagela with no leads. That was ridiculous.
"Kole." Basil spoke up. "If we don't know where we're going, we can't look for her."
-
Miro gave it some thought--only a few seconds. The answer came to him soon enough. "Only if you believe me when I say that it wasn't me. It was my father. He had control of me."
Was he just bargaining for power here, or was he, one of the largest, fiercest toms in the area, honestly unable to stomach the idea of travelling with a son who hated him?
"Oh yeah--and don't talk to Nemu like that. She doesn't know anything about this."
-
"He's dead," said Miro. "It's why he took over my body. Go on, you can think I'm crazy. Maybe I am."
He hissed at Kole. "Knock it off. And get out of here unless you want to cut it out."
-
Miro quickly lunged to meet him, paws outstretched to swat--with claws extended. The massive male was far larger than the young one. But he wouldn't kill him--only fend him off.
-
"And I was actually going to help you," growled Miro.
-
Basil followed, giving Miro a dirty look on the way out.
Miro restrained his urge to rip the other tom to pieces as he left. He just sat there with barely contained rage. But maybe what contained him the most was his guilt.
ooc: Maybe they can come into Cougar RP 9 from here? Kagela is there :)
-
Miro saw the other male approaching and stood facing him, ready for a fight if the other one put one up, but not if he didn;t.
-
Miro nodded to Trosian and figured the other male wasn't out for trouble. "You passing through?"
He turned to the she- cat and nodded his head in greeting to her as well.
-
"I'm fine." Miro was never fine, but damned if he was going to whine about it. That whelp came back looking for more trouble and he'd just kill him. He stepped a little closer to her and said to Kallik, "I'm Miro."
-
"We never live long. Nothing does." Miro's words were gentle yet dark.
-
"Those either heal or they don't." Miro looked at his shoulder. "That will heal. You stay off it and rest as much as you can for a couple of days."
-
ooc: Cool, welcome to the RP =)
ic: "Fun." Miro made a subtle change of expression; it was as close as he'd get to a scowl. How did one have fun? What was it like to just let go and enjoy something for its own sake? It seemed frivolous, even stupid. But he wondered what it was like. Maybe he even wanted to be able to do it. Wasn't ignorance bliss?
-
Miro stepped back and turned around to face the cat who'd just bumped into him. What was with all these cats converging on him?
"What are you all doing here?"
The fear was coming alive in him. They were here for a reason and it could not be good. Had Argent sent them?
-
"When a whole bunch of cats just comes into my territory I have to wonder," said Miro.
