"Okay! Thanks. I'll be back soon." Claralka headed off to hunt what she could. Still being a cub, if one who was gaining some hunting skills, she would be limited in what she could do.
It was not long though before Miro himself returned from hunting. He was dragging a small deer. He laid it down by Cri-cri. "I brought this back. Hope he's not too weak to feed."
-
Miro glanced down at the weakened tom while he made his way over to the shade nearby. "He isn't travelling anywhere."
Cri-cri smelt the carcass laid down nearby--a freshly killed yearling doe newly fattened up by a good spring. You could hardly have asked for a better meal, and yet, it took all of his effort to begin ripping into the meaty haunch of the animal. But rip he did, and began to finally get some sustenance. All the while unable to really grasp much of what went on around him.
Miro's tail thumped now and then as he idly watched. He assumed this Solace was a friend of Claralka's so he left her alone. His main concern was why not one but two mad cats had shown up in their vicinity.
-
Cri-cri was too weak to even stand. He saw her, but seemed to look through her. The mad tom returned to gnawing into the kill.
Miro was padding closer to the new arrival. "I don't think he can respond to you so well. He's lost it."
-
Miro did not make a move to stop her. He stood watching her wih his hazel-green eyes. "You can have some if he'll let you."
-
"I'd just let him get fattened up first." Miro knew also that there was something deeper wrong with him. The tom was incapacitated. "Something happened to make him starve like this in the first place."
-
Miro watched from further away, sitting and watching the whole spectacle. There was always something.
"Heal me...nothing can heal me." Cri-cri closed his eyes, though he still breathed.
-
ooc: That's okay! Did you want to join my other cougar RPs? I'm in 2 or 3 others :P
ic: Miro saw her collapse and raced over to her. "Beauty?" He nudged her. Once they had started to grow close. He had called her a friend...
-
Miro stayed with her, and watched her die. It was all he could do. He stayed for a while, after she was gone. He felt empty and alone.
-
Miro looked at them as if a little numb. Which he was. His good friend had just died. He nodded dully to them, standing over Beauty's body. "It's--fine."
Basil shrank back nearer to Kole. She got this uncomfortable feeling. "Sorry that..she died."
-
"I don't know. She was healthy..then she just died." Miro paused. "There was maybe foul play somewhere. But no trail. Nothing I can use to find out--so what's the use."
-
Miro had by now grown cold and hard on the outside, always telling himself that from now on, death would not matter to him. Somehow though it always did. He growled and stalked away into the shadows. He would never be free.
Basil sighed.
-
ooc: Kagela.
ic: Miro turned around again not quite understanding what the younger tom had asked. When he looked, he realised he had seen this cat before somewhere, and the older of the two females with him. He couldn't place it, though.
"What?"
-
A chill of conflicting energies ran through Miro as he realised who they were.
"I don't know where she is...but...I'm your father."
Basil stared at Miro, and then looked at the other two.
-
"Cub?" Miro shook his head slowly. He was five years old. These kits couldn't have known him when he'd been a cub... "I was possessed by Argent when you were conceived. You maybe knew me as Argent. But I'm not him."
-
"He's gone," said Miro. "His soul was possessing me. He was never alive. Now it's me."
-
"Yeah. I guess he did. He's gone," said Miro. "You never knew him outside my body. He used me to create you...then I ran away from you. I didn't want to ruin things. I was afraid, I guess. I was...I was afraid I'd mess things up more."
He took one step towards them. "I'm sorry."
Basil stayed close to Kole; she only knew this was the weirdest confrontation she had ever seen.
-
Miro backed away. "I don't know wher5e your mother is. But I can see I am not welcome here. I'm sorry, Kameo."
-
Miro, a massive tom, was more saddened than intimidated by Kole's threats. And proud, too. He had the fighting spirit that Miro, now a broken soul, had once had. He was also large, considering his age--he would grow up to be formidable. "...I can help find her."
"She tried to kill my mum," said Basil. "Her name's Kagela. I just hope she doesn't try to kill me."
-
"She wouldn't anyway," said Miro. "Last I heard, something had happened to her. I'm not sure what. Maybe the same thing that happened to me, and to a lot of us around that time."
"What things?" said Basil.
"Supernatural things."
-
"She was in the middle of it, I remember," said Miro. "Then she was gone. She headed back up north, or northwest."
