[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]Well, that was a bit weird. Thankfully this person didn't seem like a rogue looking for trouble or an enemy that was coming so close to their camp, and hopefully they hadn't just snuck past any LithiumClanners that were out in the territory. The feline did have an unfamiliar Clan scent though. Anthony trotted over and stood next to Seija, tilting his head slightly at the Himalayan. Seija had already asked the necessary question, so the mercenary remained silent for now.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]Anthony for some reason decided to wander around the territory today and came across a small pond. The young labrador hopped up to the bank of it, studying the water. There were some plants in it, but the water was surprisingly clear. It looked clean enough to swim in. Anthony glanced around at the forest surrounding him. Swimming in a pond would qualify as swimming only for fun, and therefore, i-it was unnecessary. A waste of time.
Okay maybe just for a second, it would be fine.
The mercenary slid off the bank and into the water, paddling around for a second before dunking under the water and coming back up. The puppy shook the water off of his head, and then began to swim in circles around the pond. -

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]Wait, what? He was Head Mercenary? The labrador's light brown eyes widened and he perked his floppy ears, just to make sure he had heard Peri correctly. "I- Th-Thank you, Peregrine!" Anthony called, slightly louder than his usual quiet speaking voice. "I will not let you down!" he added. He would try the very best that he could, and hopefully that would qualify as not letting the Kaiser down. Thankfully, being Head Mercenary was about combat and organization, two things that were right up Anthony's alley. She then told him to hold combat training or an obstacle course, and the black canine nodded quickly. "Yes, ma'am!" he barked quickly.
Next, Dylan was promoted to Mercenary. That meant that Anthony would sort of be in command of him when it came to Mercenary-business. Mwahaha. "Congratulations, Dylan!" the male called, still quieter than he meant to be. He agreed that Dylan deserved to be promoted. Scarlet was doing great as well, and Anthony nodded his head when Peregrine gave the feline a shoutout. And, there were no demotions either. Anthony felt like the Clan was doing pretty good currently, and hopefully would continue to do so. -

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]Anthony whipped around quickly with a splash of water. "W-What??" the young canine squeaked, blinking water out of his eyes until he could see Kakima on the bank. "N-No I don't! I wasn't! I was, u-um.. Exercising! Swimming can be a form of exercise, you know!" the head mercenary protested. -

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]"Can I deliver to Gael Village?" the head mercenary piped up, nodding at the news about their new allies as well. -

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]"I-If you want to." the black-furred labrador replied, swimming casually backwards and circling around the opposite end of the pond. Anthony had never been to a beach, especially one with warm water, so he was quite used to it being cold. "You can play if you want. I'll be here exercising." the head mercenary went on pointedly, beginning to swim in what were supposed to be straight lines back and forth. -

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]Anthony let himself sink down into the clear water until only his nose, eyes, and floppy ears were on the surface of the pond. Humming quietly to himself, the head mercenary swam after Kakima very stealthily. The canine circled around until he was floating behind the female, before lifting his paw and quickly splashing Kakima. He whipped around quickly, bobbing out of the water until his neck was unsubmerged now too. He glanced up at the forest surrounding them. "What was that." Anthony asked. -

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]Anthony padded nervously up to the border, setting the gift basket down once he had reached it. Of course, the black labrador had no reason to be nervous in Gael Village's territory. That was simply how the young canine always was, and he was not even sure why. In any case, he could at least force himself to push the social part of his anxiety away for the most part when it came to important business. Although, he was only here to deliver gifts, not the most serious task. But hey. He was trying here.
"I-I am bringing gifts from LithiumClan!" the head mercenary called, not very loudly compared to his usual quiet voice. Anyone patrolling or wandering nearby would hear him though, he was pretty sure. -

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px](( I love Dalliance already ))"N-N-Nice to meet you too, s-sir." Anthony stammered, shuffling his paws in the dirt. Well, so much for being less socially anxious. "L-LithiumClan is doing pretty good." the head mercenary went on, his light brown gaze traveling to Dalliance's antlers. Anthony was pretty sure he had never seen a reindeer before. "We have m-more members than before and, most are well." Kakima was sick now, but hopefully she would get better soon and it really was just a small cough like she said. Hopefully it wouldn't spread to anyone else in the Clan, either.
The young canine took this pause in the exchange to silently push the gift basket a little bit more over the border. He didn't want to leave because he was rude, he simply didn't like having to talk to others. It never came easily to him unless he knew the person well. Anthony lifted his head, glancing at the Gael Village's territory behind Dalliance. He wondered if Pisces would come over before he went back to LithiumClan. Pisces was really the only friend outside of his Clan that Anthony had. -

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]Anthony had always thought that having Clan checkups was a very good idea. Even if someone didn't look sick at first glance, Peregrine could find out if there was anything wrong by checking their heartbeat or their throat, for example. There could be a serious problem that isn't visible but could turn out life-threatening. And, it was much better to spot any sort of problem early before it became worse and the person became too sick to go into battle with an enemy Clan, if they were attacked. And if the sickness spread to other members? That would prove disastrous, especially-Anyway yeah Anthony thought it was a good idea. Very practical.
The head mercenary padded up to the group behind Kakima. Who, by the way, was totally sick and it was obvious even without a checkup.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px]Two weeks earlier. When the head mercenary slowly opened his eyes and blinked them awake, he became aware of two things. One, he had an agonizingly painful headache, one that felt like knives were stabbing into his skull, over and over again. Two, Anthony was not in LithiumClan.
The black lab sprang to his paws, the violent throbbing in his head causing him to tilt and nearly fall over again. But he blinked his light brown eyes until his vision was somewhat clear and began to take in his surroundings. He was in some sort of small cave, which would have been in complete darkness had it not been for the entrance, which had a smooth rock leading steeply up to it. So, the canine must have somehow made his way through the entrance and then slid to the bottom. Either that, or somebody pushed him in, but Anthony didn't exactly want to dwell on that possibility.
After getting a running start and managing to scramble up the rock without sliding back down, the labrador collapsed at the entrance, his head poking out into the outside world. And what he saw sort of made Anthony want to just slide down into the cave again and fall back to sleep.
The place itself wasn't necessarily frightening. It was the fact that Anthony had never seen it in his life. It was a forest, just like the forest at the bottom of the mountain back home.. But this forest was entirely different. The trees, the flowers, even the level of the ground. It was all unfamiliar, and Anthony gulped down feelings of sadness, confusion, and fear and screwed his eyes shut. I just want to go home.
Suddenly, some part of the head mercenary's brain snapped awake and forced Anthony to get to his paws. The canine kept his head lowered, wondering if he was even remotely close to LithiumClan. The nagging part in the back of his mind made him start walking, and Anthony simply let his paws carry him. It wasn't the first time he felt a sort of second part of his brain, but for some reason it was much more powerful now. It made his tired and pounding head hurt even more, which Anthony did not enjoy in the slightest.
The head mercenary stopped in front of a large boulder. Or, rather, his paws stopped walking. "Oh. Look. A rock. Yippee." Anthony said aloud, before blinking at how hoarse his voice sounded. How long had he been asleep and not talking? "What are we doing here now?" he asked. Maybe that part in his brain that was currently attempting to control him would answer. It would be nice to have some answers in his current situation.
He was wrong. That part of his brain did not tell him anything about what was going on. It simply told him to start digging.Naturally, his paws began to dig seemingly on their own, and Anthony let out a sigh as he pushed the dirt behind him. "I really hope this is actually going to be useful, and I'm not just going more insane." the canine mumbled. He had assumed long ago that he was already at least somewhat insane, what with that second part of his brain always in the back of his mind, occasionally talking or recalling memories that had never happened or forcing its way into his nightmares every night. The talking was in his own voice, so it made it hard to decide whether it was actually him or not.
See? Insane.
Anthony sped up his digging, hoping he could either complete whatever task the other part of him wanted, or dig a hole to LithiumClan. It was during this time that Anthony slowly realized that his surroundings smelled of another Clan, besides just being unfamiliar. That was not a good sign, but Anthony had lost most of his reasoning at this point. He just kept digging and digging, glad to be doing something that felt familiar to him.
Suddenly, one of Anthony's paws connected with something hard. The other part of his mind suddenly flared up in a massive amount of what felt like excitement, and Anthony lowered his head with a growl. It was quite painful, with this random second part of him being so much more present.
Anthony closed his eyes for a moment. He unfortunately had no clue what was happening, even though he had had to live with this other part of him his entire life. He had never understood it. Why was there another him in his mind, one that was different and had different memories and was constantly trying to make him remember them? Maybe he was possessed instead of insane. In any case, Anthony simply.. didn't understand it. He didn't understand anything.Anthony opened his light brown eyes again with a sigh, glancing down at the necklace he had uncovered. It had a long, silver chain, with a gleaming, deep blue sapphire gem at the end of it. Anthony hooked his paw through the chain and lifted it out of the hole. Even with dirt covering some parts of it, the necklace still brightly glittered and reflected the golden sunlight peeping through the viridian trees surrounding him.
He placed it on the ground beside him. And suddenly, Anthony understood everything.
Two weeks later.
There it was. The mountain. The head mercenary had actually made it home. The canine stumbled out of the undergrowth of the forest, looking a lot less appealing than he did the last time he was here. Not only did the labrador retriever look somewhat older, but his black fur was messy and clumped together with dirt and blood in some places. The male's ribs jutted out of his sides, and he looked serious, a bit crazy, and sad all at once.
Anthony took a few steps towards the mountain, before collapsing onto the ground. The necklace that he had found was dirtier, and he was holding it by having the silver chain clenched in his jaws, rather than wearing it. The canine let go of it when his head hit the ground, and let it fall onto the grass in front of him. The canine didn't faint again. He had had enough of that for forever. He simply stared at the forest in the distance, unsure what to do now.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;margin-top:-15px;width:412px](( MOTHER ))Anthony rolled over to look up at Seija, immediately beggining to smile. The first thing Anthony normally would have said would probably be 'Seija! I've missed you!' Or, 'I'm sorry that I've been gone so long!' And certainly following, 'How has LithiumClan been? Is everyone okay?' And of course, the black lab would have said all this in his typical quiet and shy voice.
But instead, Anthony lifted his throbbing head and yelled, "WHO ARE YOU?"
