His tail flicked as a twinge in his spine sent small tremors of pain along his back and shoulders, but the cub simply brushed the feelings from his mind. The swish of foliage just outside the building caught his attention; praying it wasn't a BloodClanner but mentally preparing himself if it was, Starr darted out the door with a little growl. "Hey!" He barked at the wanderer, unfamiliar with them, though they smelled of SunClan. The four-moon-old's ears flicked hastily as he charged down the porch stairs to face the stranger. "Who're you?" Bile rose in his throat at the sight, his breath fluttering from his lungs as if they had just deflated. "Who... who was that?" He didn't want to hear the answer, he didn't want to know who did it. He wanted to fucking slay BloodClan, and that was all. A demonic sort of anger flitted across his gaze for just a handful of milliseconds before he moved closer to Bas, his tail touching her flank in a broken and pointless gesture of reassurance.
A sharp pang of pain in his spine made him cringe, but he brushed it off. His newfound back problems were insignificant in light of this homicide scene. He did his best to avoid the blood but it was everywhere.

He'd been looking for an escape from the madness and bloodshed, looking for some little bit of reprieve, because in all honesty the young lion could scarcely handle this violence. It made him sick and weak and some strange spark inside of him was screaming to end it. But he was powerless to do anything about any of it. So he was just... running away. Witnessing murder was an invasive thing, and the thoughts that plagued him now, at such a young age, were sure to last his entire lifetime. He just didn't understand why they were so obsessed with torture. The only thing he could really comprehend now was why SunClan and BloodClan were enemies in the first place. Everyone and everything in that demonic coven were monsters, every last one of them. A growl rose in his throat, something angry and powerful, but was cut off when he noticed a large feline sitting near the water's edge. His ears pricked before he sniffed at the air and recognized Ashki's scent. Relief washed over him as he bound over to the immaculate tigress. She seemed to be the only familiar thing as of late -- his siblings were distant and his friends were hardly anywhere to be seen; his mother wasn't even... -- he redirected his thoughts quickly. "Ashki," he mewled, padding to a stop and curling up beside the large cat's side. He looked out over the churning water's surface, icy gaze dim with exhaustion. His breathe heaved from his lungs as the pain increased still, and he bit back a helpless mewl. What the hell was going on? He hadn't done anything to stress his spine, had he? Was this being done by one of those god-forsaken BloodClanners? Starr managed to rip out a growl in response to that idea.
Then a strange sort of heat tickled along his shoulders and down to his flank, an enveloping, scratchy warmth that blossomed all down the back of his alabaster pelt. The cub sighed anxiously, lying his head on his paws, stretching his shoulders, squirming, just trying to get... comfortable. Suddenly the warmth and the pain and everything escalated so rapidly the cub couldn't help but cry out. "Hhn!" He gasped, as bones seemed to shift under his flesh and muscles unbound and intertwined with new ones that he'd never felt before. It all happened so fast, the nephilim feline could do nothing but clench his teeth and writhe in pain. His vision was darkening around the edges and then... darkness overtook his clouded mind.

It was the most inopportune time to faint. He had been in pain and vulnerable and if any of those stupid bloodthirsty hellhounds or dragons showed up, he'd have been worthless. Blinking exhaustion from his eyes, Starr rose to his paws on wobbly legs. Everything about was so... disoriented. With a lash of his tail, he waited a moment to regain his balance before hopping off the bed, only to topple right over onto the dusty wooden floorboards. Snow-white down feathers fluttered around him as he sat there in a heap for just a few confused moments. What the...? His back was weighed down with something heavy and strong and... ow! he rolled onto something that tugged at his spine and put pressure on, what? A leg? No, his legs were beneath him. He righted himself once more, standing on his four too-big paws, and inclined his little lion head at an unnatural angle to blink in confusion at a massive pair of white wings lying limp on either side of him. What. What. What?! He wanted to yell out for his mother, or his siblings, or maybe even Ashki, but that was probably a stupid idea.

But, wait... Did he seriously just sprout wings?!
