[way busier than i thought this summer]

Eva had just gotten to Florida, where she was staying in her family's beach house. This was supposed to be a nice summer vacation with her family but...why were they really down in Miami? For work. Both of her parents were busy busy people, always in meetings, always taking phone calls. This trip was supposed to be a summer getaway from all the electronics, but no, it was always about work with her parents. And being an only child, it was so...so lonely for Eva. She just wished for once, they'd notice their own daughter, spend time with her. It had been this way for as long as she could remember.

After she finished up packing her clothes, the beach was calling to Eva. She put on a nice black bikini, a cover up, some sun tan lotion of course, and then took a beach bag and towel to the beach. Some kids were playing volleyball and she set up not too far off, and laid down on the towel, relaxing in the nice florida heat. She was from California so, it was almost the same here, just a little bit hotter. The young woman let out a long sigh. If her parents weren't going to enjoy her vacation, she was.

After a few moments of listening to her music, she felt something lightly hit her head, and she sat up to find the volleyball near her. She frowned and sat up, picking the ball up, watching as a young man was approaching her, coming to get the ball. The sun was a little bright and she had to squint her eyes to see who it was, put a hand over her forehead.

I tilted my head as the guy walked over and apologized for the ball. I looked him over, checking him out. He was..pretty attractive. I sort of had a guy back home I'd been trying to pursue for a while but he never noticed me. There was something about this guy though.

I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and lifted up my sunglasses. "It's okay. I probably shouldn't have sat so close to the game..." I glanced over at the volleyball court and then back at him. "Better get back, they look like they're a little angry waiting," I said with a laugh and put my phone in my purse. I didn't really want the guy to walk away though. He was attractive...and I didn't know anyone here yet.

"Actually. Do you think you could use one more player?" I asked, motioning to the game and standing up, brushing any sand from my legs.

[That's okay! Mine might be short too bc I'm tired]

I shook my head at him. "Oh no, it's bound to happen with volleyball. That thing flies everywhere. You're lucky you didn't knock me out," I grinned and gave him a wink, my flirty side coming to light. But I guess I should tone it down. Who knows, a guy like him might have a super jealous girlfriend. They almost always did. "Mm, so you're one of those people who runs late I see, guess I can't really blame them," I teased with a bit of a smirk, following him over to the group of people playing volleyball, twirling the ball in my hand. "Sheesh, why you so possessive over a piece of plastic filled with air?" I tossed the ball to Adam with an eye roll and then nodded as I was told where to go. I went that way and glanced at Lucas as he introduced himself, and I kept walking to the otherside. "Eva," I told him, and then took a stance, getting ready for the ball to be in play.

[i have trouble getting on some days im sorry]

Eva easily hit the ball whenever it came to her and she really rarely ever missed or let the ball fall near her. She found it pretty fun, and found herself laughing with the others if something funny happened. She kept glancing over at Lucas though, to see if he was watching her, if he saw her. She couldn't really talk to him like this, when they were playing a game. Eventually Eva said she grew a little hot and tired. Then she thanked them for letting her play and headed off, eyes lingering on Lucas as she did so.

The young woman headed down towards the water though and walked right in, dipping down, going underwater. It felt really nice, the cooler water versus the hot day. She walked back to her things and wrapped her towel around herself, drying off, before sitting down again and looking around for the guy, hoping he would come and sit with her and talk, but then again she didn't ask him to come sit. Hopefully he would though...

[so sorry I went totally awol!!]

Eva was in the middle of looking through her phone, reading text messages from her friends up north. She laughed and some of them, realizing she really missed them. At least she would be back during the school year, to be with them again and enjoy the summer. It sucked she had to be down here with her parents that never really were around. Her friends were the only people that ever kept her sane when it came to her life. Eva was opening some snapchats when Lucas came over and joined her. She gave him a smile. "Hey," she said and then took a snapchat, getting him there in the shot with her and sent it to her friends. "Sorry, they were asking for a picture of me," she set her phone down in front of her. "And no I do not mind at all," she shook her head, leaning back on her hands. "So are you from here?" Eva asked, tilting her head, watching him.

[They don't even have a contact email to help me. I only know the email I used on the other account and that used to be enough to log me onto my account :( ]

Skye cracked a small smile at his attempt to lighten the mood. He was good at that, making things a little less stressful than they were at the moment. "Hopefully he'll be locked away forever. I never want to see his face again," she shuddered, rubbing her hands along her arms. She let out a small sigh as he continued, talking about his invitation to stay. "If I end up staying, we'll be in my apartment still. I'm not going anywhere without mom and she's not going anywhere without me either. Not after what happened. But thank you," she said politely, and then was about to add on that maybe the offer could stand if she visited, but then there was him suddenly there, holding onto her. The crackers squished, crunching between the two of them before she moved her arms around him, hanging onto the bag behind him. His offer was sweet, her staying with him...but it felt like it wasn't the best timing. Moving in with a guy you were just developing feelings for - she'd already been through that and it went all wrong. Of course Luke had more than proved he was a good guy, but Skye wasn't about to take any liberties. Blame Dax, if you must. "I do go to the worst possible option," she admitted once he said it. Skye always thought the worst, because that was what she was used to these days. "You're always calm. Always. I can't see you going crazy, ever," she shook her head in disbelief. "Tell me, what insanity am I keeping you from?" she asked with a bit of a snort, wondwring if he was just saying these things to make her feel better or if there was truth behind it.
