♔ Heavy breaths collapsed from his lungs, the stallion's chest heaved with the exertion. After all, it was no easy feat to keep five adolescent horses in a straight path for the castle. A feat that would have been much easier in the realms of the ocean. Not that he was going back. No, not ever. A sad thought but the oven was a manipulative bitch so maybe not so sad.
Sneering at the stupidly obedient equines before him, he chuckled unduly as they hunched into a tight ball of a group. Perhaps he shouldn't; the poor little cowards. Oh, but it was so much fun. The soil-bourne had not learned to fear the capall so to see some sensibility around his presence was always reassuring. Or sometimes not so much- a flicker of a memory of Sola, of Cassius even. Their faces etches with uncertainty when he tore into a carcass.
The presence of another diverted his soggy thoughts, a little tortie who he had seen just recently. "Morning lass," He struggled to contain a grin as he spotted Vanillabean's own, yet, he didn't want to frighten the poor girl off. "How do you like them? Good looking bunch, aye? The chestnut's the fastest (or just the bravest) if you're interested." He gave her a small smile as his head inclined towards the young chestnut of the cluster.
Words reached his ears and he turned with a grin, now. "Miss Dahlia, I thought you'd appreciate these fine yearlings. Take your pick." Yes, he had been about to sink his teeth into the gray, but then his memories had interrupted. Bringing him back to the old Eden, one he would like to return this ghost town to. With the help of everyone, he could see that becoming reality. This was a tiny steps but at least they were getting somewhere.

♔ It was with sound cushioned hooves that Raph had crept into the castle library. A bizarre room, he had always thought, with books stretching to the ceiling; stairs become bookcases and ladders leading to the highest shelves- of which,, of course, he couldn't access. He was a paradox of a lot of things bathe couldn't climb ladders. But the tiny staircase situated in the corner led him to the platform on the one side and that he could climb- precariously.
It was from there he had picked out a book that had seemed relatively easy to start with. A few lines of writing on the front of a white cover, yes, this would be a good starter? Not that he could have known he had picked out 'Frankenstein'.
Book in hand (or, rather, mouth), the stallion had took paces far from the castle into the expanse of no-man's land. A place not so creatively named, in his entitled opinion. Otherwise called loner lands- a name no further inventive but at least it had alliteration to boost it's wow factor. Settling under a tree rooted in this mundane, uninspired landscape, Raph flicked the novel open with a nudge of his sooty nose.

♔ His words; his tone could be as salty as the sea. Even his pelt seemed to be splattered with salt and rock dust. He had plucked himself out of the waves and had dropped heavily onto this land. Yet, that didn't mean that the sea hadn't left his head. Or that it ever would, really. Yet, the waves' song had dampened its exclamation within his thoughts, again and again each month he spent above them. A bond was weakening and that made his heart ache, slightly. Sentimentality had been a bitch- or was that Poseidon?
Call him a wet sack, and he was being one slightly just now, but he was almost gratified. Eden was fantastic, a home like he had never felt. Fucking hell, the only fucking place that had ever felt like home! It was why the kelpie, oh-so-hungry presently, had deserted his hunt upon spotting the small group of young uns' that had detached from the herd. Eden was falling and he couldn't have that. "Ach, you're more than welcome lass. Take care of the beast. Don't lose him or I might snatch him," he bid Vanillabean. He was joking, of course. He wouldn't ever intend to make a meal of the horses. Well, without permission. Something that Dahlia soon issued him and instantly caused his maw to salivate. Horse was always so tough and tender.
His eyes pinned on the remaining three, Raph almost missed Dahlia's words. He swivelled his head, suddenly aware of the zombie-like state of the mare the former queen had chosen. "That's a scary talent you got there, Dahlia." Raph had a stronger mind than most but it was untrained in the arts of mental blocking. He doubted he would stand much chance against an attack like that. Perhaps something he would have to fix. He'd prefer not to have any in his head- apart from Sutton, of course. But, then, with the former Radical deputy, he not had much choice in the matter.

♔ Aye, that's what he liked to here. To breathe life back into the veins of the stone beast that sheltered them. What had happened to the wall he had not a clue, however, and may require some tending to, in the near future. But first things first, he'd collect a task from dear old Dahlia. "Aye, chuck one over this way, Miss Dahlia."

it's pulling me back, it's pulling me. . .
My KoE character here, Raph, is constantly battling his sense of guilt for just being himself. Considering that 'himself' is a hunger-driven kelpie that is often unduly selfish and crass. So he'll be trawling loner lands, from time to time, to live out his title as a 'knight'. That means, looking for anyone that may be in need of help.
It's completely up to you, however, if he ultimately helps your character out or if he acts on instinct. If its the latter, it's very likely that he will not kill your character as he has been teaching himself for a little while to control his primal urges. However, if you so wish for your character's death, he will have to be pushed to the very edge. On a lighter note, if it is the former, this can always continue on as friendship (or even frenemy) relationship. Perhaps your character may have not even needed help and Raph's intervention only collapses the situation? The outcome is completely up to you, of course, per Raph's typical persona.

nah, don't feel pressured at all. Cav will stay alive in Raph's thoughts, anyway. He's like an unofficial Cav son.
But yes, definitely! I need some plots with my boy; he's got dusty. Hmu, musey my dear

If not, guaranteed Raph will have a field day with the opportunity to call them Eliza 1 and Eliza 2.
But welcome (back) to you both!

♔ Something stirred in his bones. Or, rather, someone- the North Sea was suddenly quite loud. His ears rung with its song, scattering away his thoughts but for one that always dominated. Fear. Of the unknown, of himself. Fear of the knowledge that secretly, deep, deep down, he revelled in what his instincts allowed him.
A party. Throw a fucking party. Something so innocuous to many but a party meant food. And not just the dead kind. Living, breathing souls would fill Eden and he wasn't sure he was quite that ready. Ready to say that his jaws wouldn't itch with temptation, that his brain would spark at the lure. He was a fish to bait, blindly. But what fucking coward would say no to a party? Dahlia understood there was something but she would not understand this. It was laughable, really, his sudden discourse.
Fuck me, he was like a five year old. He couldn't shake his entire being and to back down would be a weakness; his mother would die from laughter. "Aye, a fucking night to remember. Got it." Raph issued a grin to the Grand Prior, a lovely, insulated expression to brighten his pure visage. It would be a night to remember one fucking way or another.

♔ Ah, and here was the little prince. Unwillingly, attention diverted, the stallion cast his eyes upon the tiny pup. A quiet one, yes, but perhaps that was just his age. Not everyone could match Raph's arrogance, after all. Arrogance that, of course, never needed to be toned down because it was precisely at the right height. At least, not too high to dismiss the apparent admiration Leopold harboured in his eyes. Was the pup frightened of these over-sized weed trimmers? "Morning, little prince. You're free to one, y'know." He dipped his chin in indication to the three horses remaining.

♔ He knew of many a time would have been useful. His wayward travels to RadicalClan, to intentionally or unintentionally visit Sutton, had been chaotic, at best. Something a brief place of sanctum would have made a thousand times easier, had it existed. No matter, this cunning lad had done just that- a clever idea and a unique one. He had not heard of the existence of inns for the two years he had climbed above the waves.
Striding over beside Dahlia and Leopold, Raph would greet Jim with a courteous nod. "That's a nice idea, lad. You'll be sure to spot my face around, sometime." Especially if payment was anything in his metaphorical pockets. He could drag back any scrap of meat he had lastly slaughtered. Ah, but if this lad was notifying them of this new excursion... "Aye, you wouldn't have seen a mare by the name of Dumah in any of your visits, would you? It was worth the ask.

♔ Dahlia seemed to have been calling shots more and more often, as of late. Subtle, not too important shots but noticeable enough, nevertheless. In correlation, the stallion had seen this King George fellow not at all. Coincidence? Well, it was safe to say he had an idea of what this meeting would be leading to. Significantly since it was the Grand Prior herself, calling the gathering. Striding over, Raph lifted his gaze to Dahlia in anticipation.

♔ King who? George, of course he fucking knew their leader's (or ex-leader's) name but he had not ever been able to put a face to said name. Actually, since his arrival, Dahlia was the only that had had any imminence of authority about her. Perhaps that was attuned, based on her past, but it was more than that. Eden anchored those that decided to tie themselves to it- although, it did not feel like drowning. The opposite, actually. He never felt more enthralled that when he was under its fortress' critical gaze. His greatest protector and greatest threat.
Beyond that, the meeting remained rather standardly droll. Territory, ranks, allies, enemies, promotions, Raph- what? The stallion's ears pricked at his name, head backtracking to Dahlia's previous words. Damn Hades, he had the attention span of a goldfish. Had that just been a promotion, for him? What was this, the third time? It was embarrassing, really. He never stuck around because, in all honesty, the sea had stolen his loyalty. Or the majority of it. Not this time, no. He would not be stolen away again. "Thanks, Miss Dahlia. I'll try not let y'down, aye? And I'll take RiverClan, for ya."
[ooc] omg i'm so sorry for the late response (work got on top of me) but thank you so much for the promo!!!

♔ "Ey-up, lass, M'Raph. You Dahlia's fledgling, then? Well, that was a given- seeing as Dahlia had responded to the female upon the call for her mother. He wasn't surprised that one of them had returned to Eden, under their mother's reign. Royalty gained stability from lineages- something that worked both ways. Once one gained rulership, the rest of the blood seemed to flock around the flagship. Understandably, of course, but just so. He should know; his mother thirsted after the power his father brought her. It was revoltingly sickening.
This, considerably less so. Visenya, as she had been proclaimed, seemed simply to wish to see her mother's face again. An innocent enough gesture, despite their apparent indirect and not-so-literal world domination ambition. But hey. Striding over beside Dahlia, the stallion eyed the newcomer before settling his maw into a simply grin. [font=arial]"Will y'be needing a tour? We've got some new sights to see, I'll be happy to be your tour guide." Well, he hadn't given a tour in aeons but that didn't mean he couldn't. After all, his charm was still at its indominable peak- others just fell at his hooves.

♔ Eden had fallen, not so long ago, yes. Power, corruption and greed flowed from a broken faucet that had once supplied such fresh and pure sustenance. Eden no more... Until more recently, the year previous when peace had crept quietly back to take its place amongst that shadows; then the courtyard. And finally, now, it had settled upon the throne with Dahlia Coulter to hold the orb and sceptre. No, Imperialcrowns could not come back to Raph's restored sanctuary and taint it with unholy ambition.
The stallion was an angelic figure- only an illusion if hunger had taken his mind. It was not often that he decided he did not like someone. But yes, he did not like this Imperialcrowns. Raising his head, Raphael eyed the male with liquid black irises. An unfamiliar smell wafted from the arrogant stranger and the newly knighted noble felt a smile sprout across his own countenance. Hollow claps filled the air as Raph's hooves met the ground, his ash-splattered canvas edging closer. Although, Dahlia reached the bastard first. No. Not bastard, brother. Smile unmoving, his eyes seemed to swill with humour. Had he not judged that Dahlia's bloodline would seek refuge under her reigning shadow?
Not that he did not wish them to, of course not. New members for this strange, silent Eden was a wish granted. Perhaps this was a twisted wish granted, in the form of this calculating male, however. Lean legs took strides over to stand beside little Leo, head dipping slightly to better acknowledge the smaller creature. "We've also been exploring." Both in the literal sense and the mental sense. Exploring Eden's lands and limits. But as their young, wise priest had implied- stories were not so idle. "Name's Raph, welcome to Eden lad. Y'got an interesting name, aye? Suits the setting."

♔ What a day when a dragon required such an ostentatious announcement for their arrival. But, Raph supposed, dragons had become plentiful in recent times. Seeing one was almost commonplace- almost. Hades, he was probably rarer than one of those winged beasts. Of course, he revelled in that particular fact. He was a diamond in this not-so-rough rough. A rough that had clearly taken the interest of these two newcomers, so boldly taking perch before the mighty castle.
And proceeding with a touch of garden work, it seemed. The observation pulled the corner of Raph's mouth up into a humoured smirk. "Greetings to y'both, Alby and Stol." The pair of names had a nice ring to them; of course the stallion couldn't help but repeat them. "Thanks for the ploughing job on our front lawn, as well, aye?" Sarcasm reigned supreme in most of Raph's responses- all in good nature. Mostly. In any case, the disaster that had been the caked soil carpeting the periphery of the castle had needed a turnover and well look here. "The name's Raph. Aye, there's plenty 'a room in the castle, at the moment, you'll have no' a trouble finding somewhere." Rooms that had needed filling for a little while, actually. It was nice to have a few new faces around. The silence that had invaded Eden had been (at least if only temporarily) shooed away by a comforting hum of voices.
