"Well I'll just nap now and snuggle up, even though it's kind of sticky and not really snuggle weather...then I'll wake up and we'll be ready for another day," purred Moonlightring. "Won't we everybody?"

"I must get back to my patients," said Moonlightring. "Do you have anyone else who could stay the vigil with this kit? You also have to nurse your own kits, they need to be fed every few hours."
-
"You can just have a nice nap too if you like," said Moonlightring. "Okay. After my nap, what does everyone want to do? We can do something in camp if you like. A fun game."
-
"You don't have to," said Moonlightring. "You can just sit with me or stay here in the den by yourslf, if you'd rather."
-
"Sure, you can sit with me," and then Moonlightring turned her attention to Orchidkit. "Belly ache? Did you try and go make dirt?" Sometimes kits had upsets during weaning, she figured her daughter might have eaten something...
-
"It will happen," Moonlightring said quietly back to Lionkit before turning her attention again to her other kits. She did wonder--had he heard Orchidkit say she was ill? Even if he was put off by how she had treated him, did he really not care at all about her? One thing was sure, he wanted her undivided attention virtually all the time and tended to go to extreme means to get it. Either that or he was running off on his own refusing to be with anyone. They were two polar opposite behaviours that he had already swung wildly between. She suspected it was indeed an attempt to secure her attention away from the other kits. Moonlightring had encountered kits with separation anxiety before, but if this was Lionkit's problem, he had it to an extreme degree. At least, right now, he was staying in the den with the rest of them. She thanked the world for that.
-
"We're going to get her all better, don't you worry," said Moonlightring. She had long since learnt that in a litter of kits, there was always something.
-
"Well, go out there to the nearest dirt place and try, and then come back," said Moonlightring. She groomed Jagkit in the meantime. She was going to handle Orchidkit's ailment step by step, starting with the simplest and least drastic methods and moving from there.
-
"So." Moonlightring looked over at Cosmickit. "What's wrong?" Seemed like they were all taking turns being annoyed, upset, resentful. Never mind, no, they weren't waiting to take turns. It was like the mother cat was never good enough.
-
"Kits aren't normally sitting around sulking for the pleasure of it," said Moonlightring, in a sincere effort to explain.
-
"Can we stop moping, please?" Moonlightring looked at Lionkit and then Cosmickit. "You guys are old enough you can just head on out in camp and play! You'e healthy, young, and free to do pretty much anything you want to. If for whatever reason you can't stand it in here you can just head out there, explore camp, meet other kits, have a snack or take a walk! Seriously. It'll help you feel better, too. Orchidkit's sick so till she is better I need to help her specially, but the rest of you don't need to wait up for us. I know you enjoy doing things as a family, but different kits have different needs, and at different times. And just because I'm not lavishing attention on you 24/7 doesn't mean I don't love you."
-
"Please don't hiss at me, I'm only trying to help," said Moonlightring softly. She had forgotten how close to the edge her son was. He was always quick to remind her. "I'm your mother, and all I ask is that you respect me. Please."
-
Moonlightring just trembled. Her vision blurred. "Is this helping you? Saying these things? Do you feel better now? Can this be over? I'll try. Can you say you'll try?"
She was actually scared. Was Lionkit being so manipulative on purpose? Where was he GETTING these thoughts?
-
"Nobody asks to have issues, and everybody has issues," said Moonlightring. "Everybody. It may not be our fault but just feeling bad about it won't improve them. Instead, we look forward. We be positive! We see how we could work on them bit by bit. Everyone has the power to overcome their issues. It's hard but it's possible. And I'm here to help."
-
ooc: Yeah you can age him now, I'd say that's enough :) From here we slow down the aging though since they can now do stuff.
ic: Moonlightring nodded to her son, and then groomed herself. She yawned and let her eyes start to slowly shut, but kept them open. Her daughter was ill, and she would wait up until she knew Orchidkit would be all right.
-
ooc: That would be weird, so can Jagkit still be younger? Like 3 weeks or so? Otherwise it makes no sense :P
ic: Moonlightring sighed.
-
Moonlightring nuzzled her. "Not even a little bit better? It still hurts in your tummy? Do you think you can throw up?"
-
"If you ate something that's making your tummy upset then yes it could help," said Moonlightring. "I think that's what probably happened but I'm not sure. Were you able to make dirt and was it normal?"
-
Moonlightring glanced over at him, but she didn't wake him. He appeared to be dreaming. At least he was finally getting some sleep.
-
Moonlightring knew the best thing to do was probably give him a nudge, so she did. He would with luck be disturbed enough to stir out of that dream and return to calmer sleep.
