Risingstar noticed Frostkit. "...but if they don't want to become apprentices, they don't have to," she added.

Longkit yowled at Beechpaw. "You think you're so good because you're an 'paw, and I'm just a 'kit!"

Riverstar sent Maplestar an icy look. She didn't want to go on fighting either, but it would hurt her pride if she stopped. She narrowed her eyes in thought...

New deviantART account with free warriors fanart!
Please read the journal before using.free-warriors-fanart.deviantart.com
That's pretty much it. You can post your comments on here (to bump it up) or on the comment board on the account. Please make sure to fav the work you use or tell me here.

Please use the form I provid, don't use your own.
~Thank you
~MuseEh, yes, Nighteh, but that is a common form used on many RP threads. I don't think it really matters as long as you get the right info.

[justify]The cat smileys on this site are far better than some I've seen on other sites, but sometimes you want just a plain old :) and not a :). So I'm going to tell you how to type regular smileys onto the forums without them turning into any of these things:
:) ;)
:(
8)
:P
without having to write a smiley backwards/substitute brackets for parentheses, etc. ;)(Yes, you can also use additional options...but those aren't always available.)
It's actually quite simple to do this. It only involves a little knowledge of the codes used by this forum (like [b][/b] is the BBC code for bold, while <b></b> is the HTML code for bold) and you can type out :[b]) as many times as you want! You can then use this trick for any forum using BBC or HTML codes![/b]
[list type=decimal]
[li]Okay, so first make sure that you know what type of BBC codes the forum uses. [codes] are BBC, <codes> are HTML.[/li]
[li]Choose a smiley you'd like to convert into regular smiley. :) or :) is our example[/li]
[li]Pick your favorite BBC code/HTML code (depends on what the forum uses).[/li]
[li]Type the smiley/click the picture of the smiley that inserts the smiley code.[/li]
[li]Between the two (or two of) the symbols that represent the smiley, insert your BBC/HTML code. ex. :HERE)[/li]
[li]Finish with the rest of your post.[/li]
[li]Click submit/post/whatever your "submit post" button is called.[/li]
[/list]Examples~
HTML
This creates a regular smiley- :)- on a HTML-based forum (deviantART, for instance)BBC
This creates a regular smiley- :)- on a BBC-based forum (this site, for example)[hr]
TIP: If you're new to posting normal smileys, PREVIEW your post BEFORE submitting it! You may have messed up with the smiley, and it's kind of embarrassing to post :[b][/b]) on the forums. ;)
TIP: Trying to teach someone BBC/HTML code? This trick will work also for codes for the forums! For example, I can write [b]BOLD TEXT HERE[/b] without the text in between bolding. I just put the [b][/b] code right after the first bracket.
So it looks like this...
Why does this work?
Well, when you send a packet of data to any form (what you're doing by posting), it goes through and searches the incoming source code for certain sequences, such as emoticon codes, BBC/HTML codes, and so on. When it sees :[b][/b]), it doesn't think it's an emoticon because it's got coding in between it. It then sweeps through to check for BBC/HTML codes, and that's when it sees the [b][/b] coding. It then tries to bold any text between the [b] and the [/b], but since there is none, the [b][/b] just disappears. And once it's done filtering your message, you end up with :)![/justify]

Yeah...that might not be considered family friendly.

Hello. I'm completely new to forum role playing, and I would love to start, but I'm not sure what to do if I need to leave for a while. It seems like all of the posts are done so fast, and I don't want to get left behind. How is this dealt with by everyone else?Well, you can start by making your own clan. Believe me, you might not be able to catch up with everyone (on one topic, there were 2 replies a minute for the first week), but as long as you get the gist, you don't need to read each post. ;)

Couldn't you also just click "additional options" -> "don't use smileys"?test :) :( :P

Hm, yes, you could, but I like this way better. I use it all over the internet, and it works everywhere, even if there is not "use no smileys" option. (Like on deviantART.) You can also use it in your signature, like I did.
I'm happy to finally found a way to do that! Can you give me an example, I'm confuse. ^_^Okay, so you want to use this smiley as an example: 8)
The code for the smiley is 8)
In between the 8 and the ), you would insert a random BBC code of your choice (I chose [b][/b]. You can also use [i][/i], [u][/u]. and so on.)
If you put it inside the 8 and the ), then when you post it should look like a regular 8) smiley.
-
:) I just go into the additional options:3 It's much easier^^That's another way, but I find this trick to be extremely helpful on any forum, not just this one. For instance, on another site, I hate the smileys, but they don't have the additional options, so I put the [img][/img] code inside the smiley.
And the BBC code-teaching trick is always helpful if you don't feel like making a code box...

Um okay...I don't think anyone here even remembers me because I went dead for about 6 months e_e
But I would have to say, I don't think it's anything wrong with the site. I think it's just that an RP forum will eventually get boring for a person after a while, and you honestly can't expect anyone to stay active on a site forever.
In fact, I have sadly posted more stuff on a Sim game's forum than on this giant forum.
