Despite being much more focused on cleaning himself than anything else at the moment, Breezythoughts still became aware of someone nearby. Ears perking up at the sounds of pawsteps, he paused mid-lick, tongue sticking out, before lifting his head. Turning to glance in the direction the sound was coming from, the cream tabby licked his maw and put his tongue away, blinking his empty sockets and cocking his head to one side.

"Hullo?" He asked, though he knew perfectly well someone was there. Sure, it might not be a cat, but judging from the sound, it had to be something about the size of a cat. Maybe he should have been preparing himself in case it was something, you know, actually dangerous, but he had the inkling that if it was something that would be interested in attacking him, it would have done so already. ...Unless he caught it early. "Who's there?"

Even though the approaching stranger didn't answer his question, Breezy didn't mind. The fact that he got a response at all was more than enough to make him relax. Not that he was particular on edge about the whole thing, but that's not the point. Upon hearing the voice, a she-cat he guessed, the cream tabby offered a friendly smile, his tail tip twitching as he wrapped it around his paws.

"I'm Breezythoughts," he answered cheerfully, his nap at this point completely forgotten. Who needed a nap in the sunshine when he could have a conversation with a new cat! "You can just call me Breezy if you want, though. Or Bree." Nicknames were something he'd hand out to strangers, yep. Breezythoughts was kind of a mouthful to say every time, after all, so it made sense to him to offer the shorter versions up. He knew some cats wouldn't use them without permission too, so this got that out of the way sooner, too.

"What about you?" He asked next, still curious about this stranger. He was curious about all strangers, truth be told, so no doubt at some point, he'd end up bombarding the poor she-cat with questions--but since they were only just introducing themselves, he'd be good and hold his tongue for a little bit.

"The same," Breezythoughts nodded, smile remaining on his face. It seemed pretty obvious that they were both loners, considering the fact that they were in the middle of nowhere. That was to say, they weren't on any obvious territory belonging to a clan, or anything. Unless they were, in which case, that was the clan's own fault for not setting up any scent markers. If there was one thing Bree was sure not to miss, it was a scent marker of a border.

"Nice to meet you, Little." The tabby chirped, dipping his head in a somewhat belated greeting. Though he had no eyes and couldn't see her, his face was pointed her way as he spoke with her, just as any average cat would during conversation. He was looking at her without actually seeing her. "What're you doin' all the way out here on your own?" He asked curiously. It wasn't often he ran into other loners in a place like this--a place that felt relatively secluded and nothing but vast, empty space. Sure, he'd pick up scents, but they were usually old. Long empty spaces like this simply weren't the kind of place you often accidentally ran into someone. So, yeah, he was curious as to why she was out here. Just passing through, like him? But then where to? Gosh, he had so many questions, but he didn't want to scare her off.

"Me?" Bree pondered on the question for a moment. He knew what he was doing with himself, sort of, but he wasn't sure how to put it into words and make sense. He definitely wasn't here to settle, though he thought it was interesting that Little was. And again, it brought more questions to mind, but he stowed them once again for the time being and gave a soft little shrug of his shoulders.

"I'm just passing through. Just sort of wandering." That didn't feel like a sufficient explanation though. It made it sound like he was aimless, which he--...Okay, maybe he was a little aimless, but he actually had reasons behind the aimlessness. "I jus' wanna meet new cats that I wouldn't get to while living in one place, and... I dunno, experience things, you know?" With the question, he tilted his head to one side in a querying manner.

"But you're trying to settle here?" Changing the conversation back to Littleriver, he smiled with interest. "Just by yourself? Or are you looking to start your own clan, or something?"

Downwind from where Dawn hunted, it was only a few moments after asking Little his question when he caught the scent of an unfamiliar cat. Another one, because it certainly wasn't Littleriver's; it was different. Turning his head in order to better direct his ears in the direction of the source of the scent, Breezythoughts couldn't help but be surprised. It was strange enough to run into one other loner out here, but two? Well, maybe it was just his lucky day. Perhaps he could make two friends!

"Hullo?" He called out, not taking into consideration the fact that this stranger could be hunting and he could be startling the prey, nor the possibility that this may not be a friendly stranger. He'd had luck today already, so why couldn't he have more? Empty eye sockets seeming to scan the area without actually doing so, the tom went on; "Is there someone else out here?" Hopefully Dawn wouldn't mind him calling out loudly over the field. Truth be told, the volume at which he called out, he sounded pretty ridiculous. But he couldn't tell how far away the other cat was, okay? Blame his lack of eyeballs for any temporary deafness anyone experiences in his presence.

For a long moment, Bree just listened for some sign of a reply. First there was nothing, then...a dull thump. Like something--someone--hitting the ground. Pretty hard, by the sound of it, and the fact that he could hear it, even with his sharper hearing. Twitching an ear, he remained silent and carried on waiting, now less for a reply and more for a sign that the other cat (still assuming it was a cat) was alright after whatever had just happened.

Again, there was nothing at first, but this time he did eventually pick up the sound of pawsteps drawing nearer. Well--if they were walking, they had to be okay, right? It threw Breezythoughts a little when the cat (he was sure at this point that it was a cat) drew nearer and still said nothing, and didn't even draw to a halt. At least, not until they had come right up to him. For a fraction of a second, the tom was concerned that he'd called out to the wrong cat--but this was of course dashed as he felt the rasping of a tongue against his cheek.

"Oh! Hi," he greeted, still a little surprised, but not particularly bothered. Offering the newcomer a smile, the expression quickly took a quizzical turn as he still heard no words coming from them. That was strange, and for the first time in his life, Bree was mildly frustrated with his blindness. If they couldn't speak for some reason and he couldn't see, then this was going to be a difficult conversation. But hey, what the hell, he wanted to meet new cats, ones with different histories than himself, ones he could share experiences with. This would just be one of those, even if it was a little difficult at first. "Are you okay? I thought I heard you fall!"

Again, no immediate response. Instead of growing concerned or frustrated though, Breezythoughts gave it a few more moments. It was at this point that he was almost entirely sure that this cat couldn't speak. That was okay though--actually, the more he thought about it, the more he was actually kind of...excited, in a way. It wasn't often that he met another disabled cat, and it was nice to immediately have something in common with the other, even if their disabilities were different ones.

As he listened for some sign that the other cat was still there, he was rewarded with the sound of a tap on the ground. It was clearly a deliberate noise, so he had to assume that was the other cat's way of communicating. One tap... Well, if they weren't okay, they probably wouldn't be tapping or even trying to answer his question, right? So it seemed decently likely that the tap meant they were okay.

"...That means you are, yeah?" He asked, just to confirm. Smile still settled across his face, Breezy's tail tip twitched with interest. Yes, this was definitely going to be an experience, one he had a feeling he'd remember. In a good way. "You can't talk, huh? That's okay! But I'm gonna 'pologize in advance in case I ask something you can't really answer. I've never talked with anyone who couldn't speak. But I'm guessing you probably haven't ever talked with someone who couldn't see, have you?" There was an amused purr in his voice--they were on equal footing here, and not only was it an interesting challenge that the tom wanted to embrace, it was...nice. You know. To not be the only one at a disadvantage. He'd never been one to hate his disability, but he still couldn't deny that it was pretty nice to talk to someone who gets it, maybe in a different way, but they'd both have to work at this, instead of just one of them doing all the work for once.

ooc;; aw, good! I'm glad! :D

While waiting once more for some sign of reply, Breezythoughts turned his head back to Littleriver as she spoke up. He nodded along, agreeing that they'd at least figure out a way to communicate. It'd just take a little work. But he was plenty good with working on it. Disabled cats had to stick together!

The low growling that issued from the new cat's position caused one of the tom's ears to flick before turning once more back to them. He couldn't help it, his whiskers were twitching with mild amusement. Stomachs always seemed to growl at the most inconvenient and embarrassing times--he wasn't going to comment though, in case that only exacerbated any embarrassment the other cat might have been feeling over it. Besides, he was quickly distracted when he heard them getting up and starting to walk away. For a moment, he was confused--he thought they were getting on pretty well--but realized that they must be going to find food. That was probably a good idea, he was getting a bit hungry too, and if he had to guess, he'd have said that Littleriver wouldn't necessarily turn down food either. Though, of course, he couldn't be sure of that.

Standing up now as well, Bree, turned his head and ears, getting an idea of where the other cat was going, tail lifting up into the air, he paused just short of taking a step to follow so that he could look back at Little.

"You hungry too? I could go for something." Grinning now, inexplicably more cheerful now than he was even before, the cream tabby turned on his heels and sprang after the silent cat, using her squeaks as guidance for where she was. There was a bounce in his step that he couldn't deny hadn't been there for a while--something about meeting these two was just...exhilarating, in a way. Or something. He didn't know but he didn't really care to analyze it, either. If he was happy and feeling good, then he was going to roll with it.

That said, while he did spring forward a little haphazardly, it wasn't with a complete lack of caution. Even if he was feeling great and excited, he was still blind, and he still had to be careful of where he put his paws, keep his senses keen so he didn't walk into a tree or trip in a rabbit hole. Plus, they were going to be hunting, so okay, after he was within a tail-length from the silent cat, Breezy dialed it back a bit. Scaring all the prey within a five mile radius was not the way to catch food at all.

ooc;; pfft that reply was not bleh, it was wonderful c:

Of course a group hunt was what they were thinking! Or, at least, that was what Breezythoughts was thinking. He wanted to keep getting to know both of the cats, so they might as well hunt together. That was more fun than going on your own, anyway.

Continuing to follow the as-yet unnamed cat's squeaking, the tom could feel the ground beneath his feet begin to slope downward in a fairly steep hill. He was capable of managing it on his own, but slowly and with difficulty, so he definitely wasn't going to turn down the help. Some blind cats might resent others for helping them in such a way, but Breezy felt that was completely needless.

Murmuring his agreement to Littleriver's comment about not catching sight or scent of any prey yet, Bree remained silent. Not because he wanted to be rude by not replying, rather because he was focused now on trying to catch some sign of prey. His pace slowed slightly as his concentration grew, head turning from one side to the other, ears perked and intent. He hadn't heard anything yet, but the next moment he caught a whiff of something. Taking a second to consider it, the tabby blinked as he decided it had to be a rabbit.

"I've got something," he murmured softly to the two she-cats, his face never swaying from the direction the scent had come from. Pointing with his nose and a nod in the direction, he went on; "Over there."

Breezy thought he sensed some amount of hesitation from the cat whose name he still didn't know. If he was right, he could understand that. It was a bit awkward when hunting in a group trying to decide who got to go after the first thing. He was about to say that she could take it, since she was the one who'd gotten up to find some prey in the first place. She had to be pretty hungry. And, if he had known about the prey he'd scared away on her earlier, he would have insisted to make up for that. But he didn't, so he just wanted to make sure the hungriest cat got to eat first.

"Hm?" Blinking, attention coming off the direction of the prey now that they'd determined where it must have been, the tom glanced back at Littleriver curiously. Ready? All of them? "Yeah. Yeah! If we all work together, it should make catching the thing easier. Then you can have it, okay?" He turned to the newer of the two she-cats so she knew he was speaking to her. "I think you're the hungriest of us here. I actually mostly just wanted to get some exercise." Grinning once again with an amused purr in his voice, Breezythoughts wiggled his back end exaggeratedly and dropped into a hunting crouch. He wasn't a particularly good hunter, of course, because it was a challenge with no eyes, but he managed. Right now, he was just over-exaggerating his movements for the humour of it.

ooc;; sure, sure! I'd love to add you guys. I always love having people to do more advanced levels of rp with. :D

Bree definitely got the message from the she-cat's hiss. She didn't want to take the first piece of kill--which he totally understood, especially if she came from a clan originally. It always felt awkward to take the first piece of kill, especially if you worked together, and then there was the fact that you were always taught to feed the clan first... But he wasn't trying to be selfless or anything. ...Well, okay, maybe a little, but she was definitely the hungriest of the three, and it'd be better if she had the first piece. However, he'd maybe bring it back up after they caught the thing. He'd see how things went.

"We could share, yeah." The tom nodded his agreement. That was probably the easier way to compromise, and then they could catch more after if they were still hungry. Probably the better way to go, anyway. Following Little's lead though--he heard her start stalking forward, could tell what she was doing from the fact that her pawsteps were lighter than normal--Breezythoughts started to stalk forward as well, though he strayed off further to one side. This was a little because he was blind, so it was more challenging to keep track of where to go while hunting, but it was also partially intentional. If he flanked the rabbit, he'd be there to chase it into the paws of one of the cats who could see what they were doing.

ooc;; whOOPS SORRY I did not mean to take so long but I ended up with really spontaneous plans today, haha. as for clans, I'm not currently running any because I just came back to the site, but hey, I have cats in main clans if you ever want to interact with more of my characters :P always up for more threads tbh.
