Grace sat on their couch watching the horrific news of the boy Drew, whose heart had given up on him and his mother sacrificed her heart for him. She stared at the TV with tears in her eyes. The poor thing... She thought and relaxed on the couch a bit more. "Dinner's ready..." Her mother announced. Grace sat there for a moment and took a deep breath. A minute later, she stood up and walked to the dining table. There sat her mom and dad already sitting at the table and eating the salad that her mother had prepared. "What's wrong?" Her dad asked seeing her swollen eyes from the tears she had shed. "Nothing..." She responded finally looking away from her dad and quickly ate. After she was finished, she ran to her room and went under her covers and went to sleep.

Amberpaw stared in shock as the badgers, foxes, and dogs approached the camp, their eyes glazed with malice. She sprang out of the clearing to see Steampaw on the ground, wrestling a dog twice his size. Whimpering, she sprinted towards the bloodthirsty canine, her hackles raised.

Amberpaw, sprinting into battle, slowed down and realized what she was doing. I can't do this! her brain cried. But I have too. argued her heart. She plunged into the dog, her head throbbing. Dazed, the young canine barked at Amberpaw. Ears flat, she hissed and bit down into it's leg. The dog whimpered as she bit into it's flesh. Adding a snarl into it's voice, it bucked her off, sending her flying into the large maple tree. Her vision died, and, swirling with pain, she flopped down in defeat, bleeding heavily.

Bump... XD

Amberpaw lay at the roots of the tree.
