"ehh .." edward groaned, flopping down in a pile of hay; the clan had decided to stop at an old barn for the night and rest. "so tired ..." he was alone - alphonse, who didn't sleep much at all, was out gathering supplies for the clan and hunting. the short tom sat up with a grunt, eyeing his robotic limbs. he knew he would have to maintain them, no matter how ready to sleep he was, if he wanted to be able to travel all the way to the new territory. so he snatched up a nearby rag and began carefully cleaning the dirt from in between the sections of his prosthetics.

edward stood in a clearing just outside camp, gaze turned to the sky. he suddenly jumped upward, clapping his two forepaws together. there was a spark of light, and a magnificent silver spear seemed to create itself right in front of him. it hung in the air for a moment before falling directly into his grasp. he sat back with a huff, a triumphant smile on his face. alchemy was amazing. the small tom yawned; it was also very tiring. ed looked to the sky again - it was early evening. he laid down; maybe a quick nap wouldn't hurt.

he sighed, dropping to the ground, and entered the large buildings that was now his camp. he pricked his ears, mechanical legs clicking as he walked. the short tom sat down before grunting, "er... meet and greet?"

yeesh, that was a ton of people all at once. edward blinked at them before offering them a half grin, scratching at the back of his head with his paw. "um, nice to meet you all," he responded to those he hadn't met yet, "i'm ed. alchemist." did he really need to include that in his introduction? probably not, but he couldn't say he didn't enjoy flaunting the title. he flicked his tail and looked to rhys, laughing softly. "al actually has a few rusty parts from traveling for so long," he responded, "he's off taking care of that right now."

the small feline entered camp with a large mouse in his jaws, setting it down in the pile. "done," he sighed contentedly, padding off in search of something else to do. maybe alphonse had something for him. "where is al, anyway?" he murmured to himself.

"ha-ha!" he exclaimed, before immediately turning and sprinting back down. there was no use in resting until he was done. luckily going down was easier ... but his robotic legs on the metal stairs weren't a good idea on such a steep incline. in fact, as soon as the small feline was at the top of the last flight of stairs, he slipped. with a yelp he came tumbling down all of the steps before landing in a heap on ground level. he scowled, sitting up. great - looked like everyone else was already done.
