Rosekit loved Rushingclan, her friends and adopted family...and she loved her biological family just as much. Glitteringstar was raising her while her real Father was fighting for some other cause. Her brother was somewhere safe and he was happy, it felt good knowing that everyone she loved was okay...
Except one.
"....Mom?" The tortie was sitting on the edge of camp, speaking out into the darkness with her ears perked. This was the deepest cave she could find, and it was so void of life that the kitten hoped in all of her childish fantasys that maybe she could speak to the inbetween here.
Tears pricked wide grey eyes as a small whine left her throat and she shifted on her haunches. "Mom? ...Mommy, are you here?"

The kitten buried herself deeper into her nest, curling up nice and tight within herself, sniffling as her tail tip covered her nose. When she slept nice and neat like this, she could almost put herself back in time...buried in dark brown blotched fur, surrounded by sucking littermates...it was a self-soothing thing she did whenever she felt lonely, but it only worked so much.
Rosekit was nearly asleep, immersed in her fantasy when she felt a cool breeze brush against her nose, twisting her dream into a nightmare as she remembered curling up in her Mother's big nest alone- some strange tom coming into the nursery and taking her away, promising that he was her father. She couldn't remember those last few minutes pressed up against her Mother, all she could recall was the cold of her absence before being lifted up and taken away from Thunderclan and all sense of normalicy.
The little one shivered as the winter winds picked up and ran through her fur, making her dream of cold snow and slush. It wasn't a nice dream, the child beginning to fidget and tremble with soft whimpers.
