Cometstar sat in the shadows of a large Oak tree grooming himself. The sun had just risen and patrols were to be going out soon. He had been on the dawn patrol. They had patrolled the Tangledclan border making sure that there were no out of place scents.

Ceaderpaw and Solpaw were both still asleep in the apprentices den. They were curled up next to each other, their thick calico pelts pushing against each other. In the dead of leaf-bare it helped to have thick fur to keep you warm. The two apprentices had yet to be awakened by their mentors for another day of training and patrolling.

Cometheart was sitting in the middle of the camp waiting for any cat to seem like they were available for any type of patrol. He looked up from the ground seeing his daughter, Ceaderpaw, sitting in the entrance to the apprentice den. He got up and padded over to her. "Ceaderpaw, come out into the sun. I know your sad about your siblings deaths but you can't do anything to change it." He said licking the top of her head. Her brother, Solpaw, and sister, Fernpaw, had both died from attacks from a badger. "But daddy, I'm so lonely without them." She said sadly standing up and rubbing against him. Cometheart purred licking her again. "Go find Hawkshadow. If she's not busy maybe she'll give you something to do." He said before she nodded and ran out of the camp in search of her mentor.

Cometheart followed Ceaderpaw over to where Swiftstar and Hawkshadow were. He directed his attention to Swiftstar. "Any signs of Lightningclan on the borders?" He asks his leader.

Cometstar looked down at his apprentice. "Well, it depends. Would you rather do battle or hunting training?" He asks Ashpaw. "Oh, and before we go could you wake up Ceaderpaw and Solpaw. They've been asleep long enough." He says with a amused smile.

Ceaderpaw and Solpaw were still asleep in the apprentices den.
