Frenchkit waited in tense silence as he felt someone drape the fabric around his neck, then flip it up and over so it wouldn't fall off right away. Who the heck—oh. Grandkit. More than a bit embarrassed, he adjusted the scarf and lowered his head by way of a proper "thank you." He needed to trust his other senses more, needed to stop being startled when people vanished from his line of sight. The kitten traced a pattern in the thin layer of dirt, something that could have been a T before he obliterated it with his tail. Then he took a few steps back, giving the stranger some space; after all, it was hard to communicate when you were quite literally inches away from the unfortunate victim—um, close enough. There were a lot of questions and not enough answers, so Frenchy stared down at the nursery’s floor before attempting to scratch something into the thin layer of mud he’d left—wow, that had come from him? Weird. Maybe his attempts to escape were a bit too obvious. This…went rather terribly, and the black-and-white male huffed before turning to face Jaxon again, tilting his head to the side. Okay, reassess the situation. First, he needed to make sure this potential friend knew the main communication barrier here. In an attempt to convey this, he leaned forward again to poke in the direction of Jaxon’s ears, though he wasn’t attempting to make contact.
