Eva rolls out of the way, her breathing hard and rough, and with one final strike to the back of her attackers neck, she brings him down. She runs after the others, only to be immediately brought to her knees, as tears stream down her face. Her eyes were thankfully closed because of this, so the light doesn’t affect her.

Ariel grabs her, pulling her away from the flames, as Eva can’t function well enough to do so on her own. The cortimancer is utterly defenseless, and she needs to be taken from here.

Tempest says nothing, leaping into the air to avoid the fire, and throwing bolts at all of the judges from his vantage point.

“Your landlord? Really Misha?” Ginny asks incredulously. “Dammit I can’t see!” She runs her hands over the injured part of her face, cussing loudly. It’s pretty damned painful.

Tara ducks down, before taking advantage of the enhanced speed, running around Prince to seemingly attack him from all angles.

Tempest zaps out of the way, breathing heavily, and goes in to take on Brinley in Melee, slashing brutally with his blade.

Ariel tries to keep the man at a distance with wind shears, looking over at Marcus. “I can’t! He’ll kill Eva!” She calls back to him, terrified.

Ariel flits out of the way, feeling the heat where the blades pass inches from her. “Alright then!” She cries, and flies at Mu, sword ready to deliver a killing blow to the throat.

Tempest, Meanwhile, focuses on Brinley and Trystan. Seeing the moment of weakness from Brinley, he goes in to tackle him, with all the voltage in his body ready to strike the judge down.

Kiara is breathing hard, and closes her eyes, calling out a word to the creature she summoned, in what sounds like old Gaelic. It comes back to her, and transforms back into a drawing, fluttering to the ground.

Kiara pulls out a roll of gauze and a cotton pad, wrapping up the wound. “Good. Can never keep that up for long.” She mutters, picking up the paper, and putting it back into her book.

She looks over at Poppy, sighing. “So, you want to introduce yourself, or should I go first?” She asks, smiling wearily.

Kiara smiles. “Pictomancy. Takes a lot of time to learn, but it’s a useful and versatile form of magic. Anything I can draw, I can make real, if only in short bursts. It would be longer, but my stamina isn’t great, and I have to transfer some of my life force into whatever I summon to keep it anchored to this world. It’s a whole complicated mess.” She says, shrugging. “But that’s the gist of it.”

Ariel nods. “Right!” She calls back to him, as she speeds for Mu again. She looks into her eyes, seeing pain, and resignation, and overwhelming sadness. No wonder Eva is so affected. She raises her blade to strike, still looking into her eyes. “I am sorry.” She whispers, before stabbing down at the goddess. The last one to die, and they’ll all see who was right in the end. She can only hope Feles was a good example.

Eva was already shaking on the ground, but as Mu dies, her body spasms, and a scream tears from her throat, a horrid mixture of shadow and water magic coalescing out as a black, foul smelling ooze, which pours out of her mouth, and which she proceeds to begin choking on. Veyana is of little help, doing what she can to stop the malignant sludge from killing her only priestess.

Tempest is the first to her side, his eyes wide as he tries to figure out what the hell is happening. He cries out as some of it touches him, burning his flesh rather impressively. “Eva! Eva, what’s happening?!” He yells, shaking her shoulder, before rolling her onto her side, hoping to get this out of her system. He doesn’t know much on how to help a normal choking person. This is way out of his league.

Ariel flies over as well, giving a cry of disgust and fear as she sees what’s happening to her friend. “Marcus, help!” She cries, knowing that any attempt to force and into her will only push more sludge in.

(Exorcist crap. Exorcist crap is what happens to Eva.)
