"Why are they here?" Kai asked, slightly angry while Jasper pulled out a mirror and angled it so he could see the mark. "How did we get cursed? I don't remember seeing any Dark Mages anywhere out on patrol," he asked curiously. "And why do you have two? How did you get them?" Jasper knew it was rude to bombard people with questions, but he needed to know. He was concerned for the safety of the city. And Veil. Even though they had just met, he felt a special connection with her.

He moved to her bed and sat next to her, gently wrapping his arm around her shoulders and hugging her, hoping to make her more relaxed. "Well, you certainly aren't leaving. Friends are forever and we won't leave you to die." Jasper smiled faintly, but his dark eyes were filled with fear for his city. "How do we stop them?" Kai asked quietly. Jasper felt sympathy for the guy. His whole family had been murdered by a Mage, before the military finally managed to destroy it. "We can tell the government. They'll up the defences and raise the attack towards nightstalkers and mages." His eyes glazed sadly, and he hugged Veil tighter. "First we need rest. I'll take first watch for... You know."

Jasper blushed furiously when Kai raised his eyes brows, grinning devilishly. "Don't you even say anything..." He muttered. "I'm not," Kai chuckled before climbing into his own bed. Jasper's thoughts drifted. He knew he would never be able to get any sleep unless he knew his troop was safe. Hopefully Veil successfully taught everyone how to track Nightstalkers without them saying she was a newbie. Although the they had just met, Jasper knew she was skilled in fighting. And running. She had been running all her life, but he did not think of her as a coward. He admired her for persisting. Glancing down, he smiled faintly at her resting figure curled up in his arms. Beautiful. Her face was pale, no scars to be seen. Her hair was like silk and her eyes shone brightly all the time. Turning his head to stare out the window at the moon, he sighed. The city needed to thrive, not surrender to all kinds of dark magic. Jasper knew he would risk his life to save it, as his own father had.

    Time skip to morning?

"What?" He groaned, still tired from not sleeping at all. But it wasn't like he could fall asleep. He lifted his head, meeting her gaze. Her face was pink and she was shaking him. Looking over to the other side of the room, he saw that Kai had already left to his job: training and domesticating animals. Sitting up, he sighed, dark hair messy and making him look like a little boy. "Have you gotten changed? We gotta leave in ten minutes to start work. Then we got a patrol in a few hours," he explained, standing up and running his hand through his hair a few times. Rubbing his eyes, he looked around at her. "Ok?" He picked up his sword and sat down, waiting for her to get ready. He had slept in his battle clothes, and he was too tired and lazy to get changed.

He blinked slightly and took her hand gently. "This way," he said, beginning to lead her through the busy crowds of people rushing to their sections. "We're down the south road, so we pass all the marketing areas until we reach the training area," he explained as they began to run. Jasper knew they were kinda late, and they would probably get in trouble. They just entered the large circular training room when a loud horn sounded, signalling if you weren't at your station you were marked late and punished. The governor nodded to them and wrote something on a clipboard. "Okay people. A little birdie told me that we have an extra person who is going to teach us particular moves to help us fend off certain monsters." Jasper grinned when he realised Kai had notified the governor, and he glanced at Veil. "Ready?"

"Sure," he smiled faintly, taking her hand and squeezing it gently. Following her up to the platform, he looked around at everyone. Knowing that they respected him, they would probably have to respect her. turning his attention back to Veil, he nodded in encouragement for her to speak up.

    (Sorry it was short.)

Jasper listened intently, watching the crowd to make sure no one jeered at Veil. He knew he should be happy that the teaching was going well, but he felt scared for his troop. 20 sirens. And around 100 other beasts out to attack them. "If there are five at each side of the wall, we'll have a patrol of around seven at each gate. Then on top of the walls we can have three arrow shooters at each corner. That'll leave everyone else split evenly for backup when the other monsters come," Jasper suggested. He glanced at the Governor, seeing he was listening intently to the plan. "We can ask the animal takers for any beasts we can use to help, like wolves or horses," he added. "The Governor of Machinery can also create a task involving making more guns and weapons."

Jasper narrowed his eyes at the Governor. He had never really liked Ashur. Especially now when he decided to test Veil. He listened intently to her speech and smiled proudly when no one decided to interject. When she came back to him he took her hand, hugging her close. "Nice job, wise girl," he chuckled, freezing when he realised that everyone was still staring at them. "Uh, everyone, back to training," he called. "We'll start patrol in twenty minutes and if you aren't on you can keep practicing or return to your homes." Jasper was allowed to make orders, since he was deputy of Governor. Now he was slightly afraid he would lose his place. He turned his head and smiled down at Veil.

"A man repellent?" Jasper pouted playfully. "You wanna repel me?" He grinned, nudging her before answering seriously. "The machinery can make some guns for you, maybe a sword," he explained, glancing irritably at Ashur, who was now helping a trainee while watching Veil and Jasper intently. "We should probably check the west gate. There was some trouble there three days ago and they might need extra military incase," he suggested, beginning to tug her out of the large circular room.

Valori giggled lightly, helping him to push his chair back up. "Sure. Either one sounds nice," she replied, smiling in relief that he hadn't thought of her as rude for pushing him off the road. "But first I would like to check that the children on the bus are okay." Brown eyes flashing with a pang of worry, she disappeared into the crowd. A few minutes later she reappeared, smiling brightly. "They're all fine!" The storm clouds had finally begun to float away, and the sky was now a baby blue. The rain had ceased, and people were finally starting to emerged from side cafes or shops. It was quite strange that a bus had crashed, yet everyone was perfectly fine, and she met a dashing guy. Maybe fate. "Are you sure you're okay? You took quite a fall..." She was sincerely worried about the boy, since it was her fault he had fallen. She began to turn pink from the autumn cold and embarrassment. "I-I mean... I'm sorry, I'm being impolite. What's your name?" She asked, smiling sweetly. "I'm Valori."

(Watching Teen Wolf, so I didn't see your reply x3 Sorry)

Eek, sorry I took so long. Life is being a **** and I was caught in a big fight. I hope we can be good friends now that we rp together :D

Lifting his head, Eric watched as people laughed and called at the top of the building. His eyes glittered as he waited patiently for the next person to jump. A teenage girl, obviously a transfer, was pushed closer to the edge before she finally smiled, laughed and obeyed. Eric watched as she free falled to the ground, before bouncing slightly.
Moving forwards, he grabbed her arm and gently dragged her to the edge of the falling area. "Nice job," he congratulated, giving her a small smile. "Name, age and original faction?" He asked.

"First jumper- Rose Summers!" Cheers erupted from the crowd of Dauntless that suddenly appeared, before they turned to help the next person out of the net, still cheering. "Welcome to Dauntless," he smiled. "Don't get too caught up with the wildness. Anything can happen," Eric warned her, before turning to watch the other people. He knew two boys had been killed during the jump off the train. Two girls and a boy had stayed behind on the train, and one had been unable to get on it. It saddened him. Just because they have chosen Dauntless but had been unable to prove themselves doesn't mean they should be forced into Factionless.
