Greymatter stretched, waiting for everyone to gather. She was a bit nervous, as this was her first time conducting a HP meeting. But there was many things to discuss, such as alliances, clan activity and their stances on concerning the war between BloodClan and SunClan. Ever since Xiu's exile from BloodClan, they hadn't heard anything excepting the visit from the new ambassador. A young, skittish child. They've had child ambassadors before, but the news Xi brought of their leader... for some reason it just felt wrong to her. BloodClan hadn't called upon their aid, making Greymatter question if they trusted ColoredClan as an ally.

She sighed, closing her eyes as she wrapped her tail around her paws.

Greymatter was aware that this meeting was late. There had been several factors involved with this--decisions that had to be made before announcing anything publicly to the clan. Another being, the events that had happened during the week. Xio's disapperance and Frightfur's temporary death had effected many of her clanmates, including herself. But now, she was ready to call upon her clanmates, as she sat on the edge of the gold fountain, a rainbow bandanna tied around her neck signifying her rank as Commander.

"ColoredClan, gather!" She yelled across the territory, waiting until everyone gathered by the fountain before beginning.

"We have a couple of events ongoing. The first being, our monthly Hunt. At the beginning of each month, as a clan we venture into a biome and hunt down one of the monstrous creatures native there to ensure success on our future raids. Dragondance is hosting a mass meet and greet, which is a great way to learn more about your fellow clanmates. Lastly, Lucien is on the look-out for new medics. ColoredClan's hierarchy is unique in there is two paths leadership, hence...my own ascension.

"Twistedhumor, I'd like for you to hold weekly tasks this week. If you are an ambassador, please make a visit to your assigned group.

"Clan activity as a whole has been down this week. I'm specifically issuing warnings to both Arachnophobia and Blitzwing. Noelle and Dragondance are exempt as they both informed me of their reduced activity. Xiu is demoted from Greenguard.

"Arcadekit is promoted to blueblood. Arcadekit, I'm proud of the way you are inclusive and friendly with everyone you meet and I hope you continue to do so." She smiled, tossing a blue bandanna towards her adopted daughter's direction.

"I'd like to issue a public apology to both Frightfur and Yuri. My actions that night were...not exemplary of what a leader should be. Both of you have contributed much to the clan and I'm grateful for your contributions. I am reinstating Frightfur to his former post as violetheart."

She cleared her throat, gathering her thoughts up before drawing a deep breath, "I am promoting Yuri to Radiant Lieutenant. I know...that this is an unusual move, but I feel like ColoredClan as a whole will benefit from this partnership. Yuri has experience in leading several clans and has expertise in places I do not, such as leading troops. As Radiant Lieutenant, he will be in charge of training ColoredClan to fight together as an unit and conducting raids. If you have any concerns about this, please speak to me privately.

"I'd like all the HPs and Semi-HPs to meet with me after the meeting. Everyone else is dismissed." With that, the grey feline hopped down and walked away where the meeting would be held.

    OOC:

I have several OOC announcements! First, being that back in early August, we were planning on having Black Heart Rogues come in and destroy several biomes, causing ColoredClan to find new biomes. The biomes destroyed would be current biomes 1,3 and 5. Take a look at this old thread to see the new biome ideas and let me know by Wednesday if you're against it/have different ideas for new biomes otherwise it's bye-bye biomes and hello new biomes.

Second, we have had a choice awards ongoing since early August! Crazy, right? It's slightly outdated, but I hate to see that cool badge design by Dipster go to waste. The end-date for the choice awards is September 17th.

Thirdly, I'm starting up another mass adopts for this month. Sign-up right here if you'd like to contribute a litter.

    TLDR:

    - The monthly Hunt!

    - Mass Meet and Greet!

    - We're on the lookout for new medics

    - Arachnophobia and Blitzwing issued warnings to pick activity up

    - Arcadekit is promoted to blueblood

    - Frightfur is reinstated to violetheart

    - Yuri is promoted to Radiant Lieutenant

    - S/HP Meeting

Greymatter acknowledged Lucien with a nod of her own. She was...worried about the whitecoat. His amnesia so soon after Frightfur's and Yuri's return was...unnerving to say the least. As both an amnesiac and medical professional, she's poured countless hours into researching amnesia. While she suffers from retrogade amnesia, it's not unusual for others to suppress memories one may find to be hurtful. She does not think Frightfur and Yuri realized the ramification of their union had on Lucien. Free of any emotional trapping it may be, it is rather...a shock to one's system to find their love in an union with someone else.

"Hello, Dragon," She smiles at the greenguard.

She hasn't had much personal interaction with him, to be honest. From what little she's seen, there's something amiss about him. She does not badger Dragondance about it, because she sees herself in him. The desire to hide behind a mask, behind a name that has no hurt attached to it. No expectations by others to uphold to that name's ambitions and follies. He hides, not because he has ill will towards ColoredClan, but in order to protect himself.

Her eyes flicker towards Yuri's and Arcadekit's arrivals.

'You complained about BloodClan's child ambassador but promoted your own child to uphold an adult's rank? Hypocrite.' A cynical internal voice whispered to her. As much as her daughter is deserving of the rank, she is still so young, so naive. A part of her wants to lock her up in a tower and keep her safe from the evils of the world. But another part argues that is inevitable that Arcadekit's light will be tainted with darkness. She must do what she can to make sure that she raises Arcadekit in a way that prepares her for the darkness that awaits her. As much as she loved Lullabysong, Greymatter practically raised herself after her mother went mad from grief.

Seeing as she had a majority of her high positions, she decided to begin the meeting. The others could always slip into the discussion late. She gives a nod towards Arcadekit's question. She doesn't expect much input from her daughter--this is a learning moment for her. A chance for her to learn the inner workings of a clan.

"Yes. I'd like to open the floor to discussion on our stance on the BloodClan and SunClan war. For those of you aren't aware, back when we rekindled our alliance with BloodClan we pledged to aid them in their war with BloodClan. SunClan responded by immediately declaring us enemies, but we have not made any contributions to the war aside from an offer to help BloodClan. I think I've made my stance on it clear; I think it's a meaningless war that is undeserving of our resources, and that we should instead focus on the Black Heart Rogues.

But I am willing to hear any reasons on why we should pursue another war with SunClan."

She...vaguely remembers Derrick. Not because of her damaged memory but because he'd rejoined towards the end of her tenure as head doctor under Nighttales. She knows nothing about the tiger, except for the fact he'd been exiled once before. Yuri, her lieutenant, seems to be handling the situation well, as she catches the tail end of their conversation. She does not mind having former exiled beings in her clan, as long as they vow to adhere to the clan laws. She's happy to see there's a few people who recognize him. There's nothing more awkward than visiting an old stomping ground and recognizing no one.

"Welcome back. I'm Greymatter. I don't know if you remember me, but I served as head doctor under Nighttales' reign; I'm currently serving as Commander."

"Mind if I join in?" The leader purrs, as she sits down by her adopted daughter, Arcadekit.

She can't recall ever playing the game before, but she's sure Orion will explain the rules to them. Most icebreaker games were simple and easy to follow along to.

"You kits shouldn't wander to close to the borders," Greymatter chastised, as she descended from the sky.

As a kit, she had plenty of freedom to explore a whole city full of skyscrapers. But that had been within the camp's borders, tucked away deep into the territory. Kits will be kits, but she hate to have one of them get snatched by a kitnapper under her watch. They are lucky that this stranger happens to be one of similar age. He smells faintly of BloodClan, which draws her attention immediately.

"Are...you lost?" She asks hesitantly, "My name is Greymatter, commander of ColoredClan. Can we help you?"

You can do the fluff-mom if you want! Her reference is in her siggy below but I'll give a written description below

    • She's half-Persian
    • She has the characteristics of a persian (flat nose, short legs, stocky build, long fur, feathery tail)
    • Her eyes are blue
    • She has grey fur
    • She has wings, but since it's a head-shot you probably don't have to include it.

//No worries! I hope your move goes well!

"Unfortunately, I've heard nothing. Perhaps he left without a note?" Greymatter commented, nearby on another bench reading a book.

T'was a shame really. She felt like she was just getting to know the tiger before he skipped town. She frowned, why did this seem to happy with everyone she grew close with? At least Frightfur was thankfully still around, even after the scare he gave everyone...

She turned towards Miu, who expressed his confusion.

"We had a blue tiger named Blitzwing who was a greenguard. But it appears he abandoned his post without notifying anyone." She explains to the kid.

Greymatter inclined her head towards the female as she addressed the Commander. There's something amiss with the former second. Although Curtaincall was a naturally quiet individual, she'd always spoke clearly. There's a stutter in her voice, causing her to stumble over her words. Greymatter doesn't comment on it, knowing it might be a sore spot for Curtaincall. There's various reasons why stutters can form, and one of them being trauma.

"No problem," She says after the feline declines her offer at the present.

She smiles as she sees Yuri happily reunited with his cousin. She's quickly learning that the aristocratic feline is related to half of the ColoredClan bloodline.

She's not Lucien, but she's a skilled healer none the less. There's a reason why she has been entrusted in the past to head the medical division. As soon as the whitecoat arrives, she'll gladly let him take over the situation, but for the now, she is it. Bits and snatches of the worried crowd's concerns reach her ears as she nears.

"Give her space," She says firmly to Aracadekit, as she looks over the mutated cheetah.

It appears that the cheetah is suffering from sort of abdominal pain. It could stem from a variety of things, but her mind immediately goes to pregnancy upon seeing Ara's rounded belly. A flashback of her own contractions washes over her.

"Arachnophobia...Lucien can give you medicine to help with your pain. But I have something important to ask," She draws in a breath, "Are you...pregnant?"

    Lucien V.A.J.

"I see," Greymatter frowned, "Could you...offer me a bit more context? I don't doubt that she has a potential to be a problem, I am seeking on retracting our support for their war with SunClan. But two sides of a story can often be vastly different one another. Perhaps you caught on a bad day?"

She cleared her throat, "Also, Ara, is there any...particular reasons why you chose to step down?"

She could tell it in her eyes that Arachnophobia had been conflicted on whether or not admitting the truth. She'd been hiding the pregnancy for whatever reasons--humiliation, grief, perhaps even fear. Greymatter knows the feeling. She too held silent on the matter concerning her own pregnancy. Everyone knew about it--there was no way of hiding her bloated belly out of sight and out of mind like Arachnophobia and Frightfur both had done. She'd been the head doctor, she couldn't duck out of her responsibility so easily nor had she wished to at the time.

She turned to look over at Arachnophobia.

"I'm...sorry, I had to know the truth as certain pain relief medications can be harmful to expecting mothers," She speaks softly, low enough for only the cheetah to hear her words, "Here take some of this, it should ease your discomfort some."

She pulls out some willow bark from her basket and offers it to the cheetah.

She likes to keep her own herbal supplies--ones she's either personally grown or scavenged for. It's not like she doesn't trust in Lucien's skills; he's a capable physican in his own right. But she sees no reason to bother the clan medic when she can tend to her own aches with her own expertise. He has the whole clan's health to worry about, she rationalizes. She's just removing one less concern from his to-do list. In reality, she is a stubborn feline who doesn't know how to ask for help.

"Yes," She answers Twistedhumor, "I can administer some herbs to help relieve the pain. She might just be having contractions--it depends on how far along Arachnophobia is into her pregnancy."

She turned to look over at Arachnophobia.

Greymatter jolted at the sound of Lucien's voice. He seemed to be in a foul mood, with most of his ire directed towards Frightfur. Despite her friendship with Frightfur, she'd be the first to admit that he had a valid reason to be upset with Frightfur. One looking from the outside, might assume Lucien's behavior to be nothing out of the ordinary. But she can tell. It is true she has not had much interaction with the whitecoat, despite their short partnership on the medic team. But she's always viewed him as...passive, unwilling to make waves. His subtle attempt to keep Barnaby away from his parent surprised her. Her administering herbs without his presence probably made the situation worse.

She glances between Barnaby and back at Lucien, a disapproving glare directed towards the whitecoat's way. She doesn't say anything about it, instead focusing on Arachnophobia and her needs at the moment. The last thing she needed was a loud argument stressing her out and perhaps causing her to go into labor early.

"I gave her willow bark to help with her pain, rather than poppy seeds as it's harmful for expecting queens. I apologize, Lucien. I should have waited until you arrive before giving it to her." She cleared her throat, sitting up straight, "However...she's still a bit shaken up. It might help to give her something to calm her down..."

Ah, meet-and-greets. They used to be rampant all over Color Town back when newcomers flocked to the clan in droves. It's been a while since she's seen someone do one. She's not sure if the fad is going away, or it's just happened to been a while in ColoredClan's case.

Successful meet-and-greets were ones that had a little twist to them. Like having to offer up three facts about yourself to the general public. She watched a few others speak their piece, before she cleared her throat and said hers.

"Hello my name is Greymatter Aeternum, I have been head medic multiple times, I had a pet gryphon once, and I'm amnesiac."

// Hello my name is Frosty! I was on the site back in '11-'12 under a different name but I didn't return until around '15. Since then, I've been on and off the site. My most memorable characters are probably Greymatter, Ghosttown (GraveClan), and Winterkit (The Rift). Like Yeti, my posts can range from short to painstakingly long posts. It's just how my muse likes to operate :')

My PM is always open if you're in need of a listening ear!

    Three fun facts about Me:

    1. I have a wide variety of interests, all ranging in different levels of skill/knowledge. I've tried out a lot of different stuff, so you name it, I've probably done it haha.

    2. Everyone in my family including me have never broken any bones except for my brother who was running on a soccer field, tripped and fell in a way that broke his collarbone.

    3. I can't handle gore, like at all. Even soft gore, I cringe at. I think I'm getting a little better, but yeaaah. No ATTACK ON TITAN for me.

She doesn't recognize the returner. It's not unusual, there are plenty of members that had come and go during her own absences. But she does tend to recognize a majority of returners from her long servitude to the clan. Frightfur, Yuri, Curtaincall and Lucien all recognize her, so the individual isn't much of a stranger as she might've imagined.

"Welcome back. I don't think we've met before. My name is Greymatter." She greets Saryn with a smile.

Greymatter yawned as she strolled in, trying to blink away the remnants of sleepiness that clung to her fur. She'd stayed up late last night, completely forgetting about the combat session that awaited her before dusk. She had been tempted to just roll over and continue sleeping. Except...her combat skills were very rusty. It'd been a while since she actively engaged herself in combat of any kind. She'd been able to get away with this as a medic, but she couldn't justify it any longer as a leader.

"I'm here," She murmured as she took a seat near her adopted daughter.
