"Oh? BloodClan has heard already?" Greymatter raised her eyebrows, her voice seeping with surprise.

She'd been planning on sending out messengers to their allies about the recent change in leadership. Just another task to her growing to-do list. She'd be lying if she wasn't starting to get a headache from it all. She was starting to appreciate all the leaders she's served under a whole lot more for their servitude.

"Both Yuri and Frightfur have disappeared without a trace. We...have no leads, unfortunately. I've stepped up as Commander in the meantime."

She gestures towards the rainbow bandanna that's tied around her neck.

"Greymatter Aeternum at your service. How fares BloodClan?"

Greymatter sat towards the back of the group, listening to everyone's ideas with a small smile on her face. She was glad everyone seems enthusiastic about the party--it seemed to take everyone's minds off of Yuri and Frightfur. If seemed that this party would not only be beneficial for ColoredClan's allies, but as a team building exercise for the clan itself.

She watched, content, as she oversaw Arachnophobia organizing the party and giving roles to people. She was glad to see mutated cheetah handling the role with ease.

"Paintball as a colored-theme game sounds good to me." She said, shifting her wings in a more comfortable position.

// I think that the foods+drinks and party room should be in one thread, and all the other activities in separate threads. The party room/main hub could contain links to the other activities.

also, I suggest some sort of ooc rules w/ the scavenger hunt and talent contest. For the hunt, maybe if someone posts somewhere around 5-10 times they get a prize of some sort? Not sure about the talent contest, tho.

"Thanks for the invitation," Greymatter purred, as she came to a halt beside the whitecoat.

She had no problems with Lucien accepting the invitation, as he was authorized to do so. A pool party sounded fun and relaxing--something the long-furred persian needed desperately. It was good that summer would soon come to a close, because she wasn't sure how much more heat she could handle.

Normally at parties, Greymatter sits off to a corner. She enjoyed people-watching, seeing the small talk flitter to and fro. But now, as recently named Commander of ColoredClan, she felt obligated to work the room, so to speak. However, the first thing she does is dip her paws into the cool, relaxing water.

Eventually, she goes and grabs a drink, her eyes searching around the place before landing on Xia. Her eyes narrow; she recognizes the hellhound as part of the BHR. She must hold dual-alliance with an ally of BloodClan's, or perhaps she is a wolf in a sheepskin.

"Not up to destroying violence at the moment, I see," Greymatter makes an icy comment to Xia.

"You did this, all by yourself?" Greymatter whispers out loud, taking in the sights of the gorgeous garden.

A snippet of memory flickers into mind. It's something that happens occasionally, to everyone. But it's different for Grey, it always has been since that day in the Forest. She remembers leading Dimitiri (Her Dimitiri, not that one who was undeserving of that name and the meaning attached to it) through it. He'd been amazed by the sight of it while she'd thought nothing of it. The medics always had a herb garden attached to the medic house. All the healers had took of it, working together to cultivate the herbs.

But that had been several people behind that garden, this had only been Arachnophobia. She was impressed that she'd managed to uptake such a task herself. Her hard efforts did not good to waste, either. They all needed something beautiful to look at, something to make them forget about Yuri and Frightfur for a little while.

"Y-yes, I suppose we needed it," She takes a deep breath in before looking gratefully towards the violetheart, "Thank you, Arachnophobia."

Greymatter was out on a walk. She could easily cover more distance by flying, but that wasn't the point of the walk. Flying could be enjoyable in its own ways. Feeling the breeze hit your face as you soared up above was exhilarating. Walking had its own merits. It was slow, leisurely and gave the feline time to think.

She didn't have much of that, nowadays. With her post as Spectrum Commander, she'd been running herself ragged looking after new joiners, dealing with daily clan issues and speaking with allies' ambassadors. She had always thrown herself into her work vigorously in any position she occupied. But this was different. As Head Medic, it was her responsibility to look after the clan's health and train new medics in her place. As leader, she still looked after her clan's health, but in other ways. She looked after the whole clan, after its allies and strength and ability to defend itself from attackers.

For a Persian generally reserved to a support role, it was...exhausting to be the front face of ColoredClan. She'd grown up in the anti-clan....but she wasn't the same person. Not after her memory loss. She has regained many of her memories, but they still feel at times like they don't belong to her. Even when she organizes them neatly into boxes in her mind, they still felt too faraway to reach out and grasp them.

A familiar scent tickled her nose, causing her to abruptly halt. That...can't be. No, it couldn't be. She must be imaging it, after overexerting herself today. She edged curiously, a bit closer, until the foliage gave way to a very familiar scarred tom.

"Dimitri," She croaked, a sudden lump in her throat.

She'd abandoned him, like last time. Only this time, had been intentional. She'd felt overwhelmed, felt the urge to run, and she did. She ran until she couldn't run any longer. She rationalized all she could--she wasn't the real Greymatter that Dimitri knew, her kits were old enough to take care of themselves, the clan would be fine without her--but in the end she'd just been a coward.

"Dimitri, I'm so, so sorry I left without saying goodbye." She took a step forward, hiccuping, as tears run down her face, "I--I don't know what to say."

// this is super rushed, but i'm so happy you brought Dimitri back!

    XIA

Greymatter almost lost grip on her drink, her eyes widening in shock at Xia's revelation. Lost kits? The hellhound could be lying and next--she remembers seeing the female in the raid. Her stomach was unusually thickened, and as a medical professional she'd fleetingly suspected pregnancy. But the roar of the raid distracted her from any further thoughts regarding Xia.

"Who did it?" She asked, her voice strained with thinly concealed rage, "ColoredClan never has condoned the beatings of pregnant queens, and never will."

A memory flashes across her consicous. It's ColoredClan except it's back in her apprentice days. When her gentle, sweet and kind mother snapped. Lullabysong, like her name implied, was a gentle soul who had found four abandoned children in a basket and adopted them on the spot. But one by one, including her birth daughter, they either died or left or betrayed ColoredClan. Until, it was only Grey and her mother left. Her presence did nothing to console Lullaby. The tabby was lost in her anguish. She went after RiverClan queens and kits, intent on hurting them the way she had been hurt. Even Permafrost, a renowned anti-clanner, put his foot down firmly at that.

Seeing her mother in that state of mind...it made her sick just thinking about it. She didn't want to see another tortured pregnant female in her entire life.

haha i forgot to have her in xia's torture thread rip

Greymatter is a walking fossil, something she doesn't care to admit. She's walked a lot of miles, seen many things throughout her lifespan. There is still some spots that are a blank in her mind, while other memories are a bit...confusing to her. She has them, she remembers them, but she doesn't understand the specifics of them. She doesn't like bringing her past often, but she's a leader now and her clan deserves to know where their leader is coming from.

"Hmm," Greymatter squinted her eyes at Arachnophobia, "I'm going to have to agree with Lucien."

She'd gone for the second choice, but quite honestly she doesn't doubt that one is untrue. She freely admits that this world they live in can be...very strange at times.

// Hi, I'm Frosty! Don't let my joining date fool you, I was around '11-12, before leaving due to some irl stuff. I've rped a variety of characters (Winterkit, Ghosttown, Twistedkit) but for some reason Greymatter's always stuck with me no matter what. Like Happeh, I'm always open to plotting--my favorite part of RP is coming up w/ crazy, fun ideas with people and then making them happen. My PMs are always open if you need to someone to chat with ^^'

"Curtaincall?" Greymatter inclined her head towards the female, blinking a bit in surprise.

The last time she'd seen the female, she'd served as lieutenant around the same time that Greymatter had been head doctor. She didn't have much interaction with her, but she'd been a clanmate, and Greymatter valued all her clanmates.

"It's...good to see you again, welcome back," She purred, "I am currently serving as Spectrum Commander of ColoredClan. There's been a few changes to the ranks, but they're mostly the same. I can explain in further detail if you'd like."

He seemed just as taken back by her appearance as she was to his. They stood there, gawking at one another, for what seemed like an eternity to Greymatter. Dimitri was the first break free, rushing at once in her direction. He kept muttering her name as he pressed fervently against her. The persian leaned into his touch, letting him press his cheek against hers. He was real, she thought numbly, as she took in his comforting scent. He was real, and he still cared for her.

She hardly took note of Lucien and Arachnophobia who gathered nearby, as a chuckle rumbled in her throat. She leaned back to look at his eyes, tears still streaming down her face and making her vision blurry.

"I'm sorry," She took a shuddering breath, "I just can't believe you're here with me again."

// i am so sorry for the late reply, I'm regrettably very busy this week

This is the first I've heard of CC having beef with HawkClan

If Greymatter knew of his true identity, she'd ripped him to shreds on the spot. The former medic isn't fond of spilling blood, but she'd make an exception to get her paws dirty for Dimitri. She wasn't around during his pitiful excuse for a reign, but she has lived through many different reigns of ColoredClan.

As a kit she stared up at the large, intimidating smiledon known as Permafrost. As a young adult she witnessed the end of Impavidstar's and the beginning of Lucinda's, and has seen the middle of Nighttales'. She has seen the aftermath of Dimitri's careless destruction, a limping ColoredClan with no head. She has seen Yuri's ascension back to the title of Commander and his subsequent disppearance. Now, it is her that holds the reigns of an once glorious empire. A former glory that might fade from existence if she doesn't change the tides of destiny.

She approaches the stranger, warily. She scents HawkClan, a pro-clan, but ColoredClan has no current quarrels with them at the moment. She will treat this visitor cordially unless shown otherwise.

"Hello, I am Greymatter, Commander of ColoredClan. Can I help you?" She said, coolly inclining her head towards the stranger.

Hello guys, I'm finally back from my vacation and will be back to posting regularly. Again, I'm really sorry for my inactivity, I feel like this week's drop in activity is partly due to my own inactivity. I will post this week's meeting tomorrow (as I'm exhausted right now) but next week will go back to Fridays.

'We?' Grey thought, before remembering. Yes, that's right. There were others that resided within Dimitri. She remembering seeing flashes of their personalities. A child, an old man, a malevolent spirit. Maybe once she knew their nature, but it's one of many things she's forgotten. But she knows they mean no harm to her, and so refrains from questioning.

"and I am always here for you," She purred, lying through her teeth just as much as Dimitri. She can't promise that. She can't promise she won't run away again like she did last time.

"Of course you are welcome to join us again, I'm--" She hesitated, ducking her head bashfully, "I'm the current commander of ColoredClan, actually."

"Thank you for the invite, Sel." Greymatter purred, as she came up to greet the fellow leader.

She didn't have much interactions with the female during her tenure at ColoredClan, but she'd been a former clanmate nonetheless.

Greymatter inclines her head towards Selfdestruction, "How are the Skulls doing, if you don't mind me asking?"

Greymatter stood at the center of town, her eyes surveying the calm atmosphere of the clan.

"ColoredClanners, gather for a meeting!" She called, waiting for people to start gathering before she continued on.

"I think everyone can agree it has been...peaceful this week. Too peaceful, I might add. I'd like everyone to keep their guard up for the first signs of any trouble, and to keep working hard to rebuild ColoredClan to be a better place.

"There are several events going on despite the quietness. BloodClan has invited us to a pool party, The Skulls have a rum party for anyone interested in that type of thing, and of course there is our very own Colored Fest to worry about. Which, by the way, Arachnophobia, how are things going? Are there invitations to allies that still need to be sent?

Regarding alliances, Westeros has given us a trial alliance, meaning they will decide by the end of two weeks if they'd like to keep us allies or not. I'd like to hopefully keep them on our good side.

"Regarding promotions and demotions. Both Luciferous and Fishers are demoted due to inactivity, Antonio is demoted, obviously, since he has chosen to leave. I'm promoting Noelle to Blueblood for her hard efforts and her contributions to the clan. I'd like you, Noelle, to go to Westeros on my behalf and ask them if they'd be interested in participating in a raid against the Cartel.

"I have a few assignments for my high positions to dole out. Lucien, I'd like for you to lead a herb session and teach everyone basic medic training. I can help with that, if you'd like. Arachnophobia, I'd like for you to do the weekly tasks this week.

"Shoutouts to Dimitri and Curtaincall as returning members. Dimitri is not the same Dimitri Hellfire, former Commander of ColoredClan, just to clarify. He has served as medic in the past. Curtaincall has served as deputy before, and is a valuable addition to the clan.

"My last announcement is this: It has been brought to my attention that someone tortured a pregnant female within ColoredClan borders. I want it to made clear, that I do not condone the tortures of both pregnant individuals and children and if I find the individual responsible for this, they will receive a severe punishment. That is all."

    // TLDR:

    - It's been a slow week for us--partly because of my own inactivity but I'd like for us to pick up activity as we head into the new week, hopefully get some exciting plots going!

    - BloodClan has a pool party

    - The Skulls has a rum party

    - Our own party!!

    - Westeros has made us a temp. ally

    - Luciferous, Fishers and Antonio are demoted

    - Noelle is promoted to Blueblood

    - Assignments for HPs: Noelle to ask Westeros for a joint raid against the Cartel, Lucien to hold a herb session, Arachnophobia to hold the weekly tasks this week

    - Shout-outs to Dimitri and Curtaincall as returning members!

    - Warning about torturing pregnant individuals/children

Greymatter has never experienced the loss of children in the way Xia has. Lionkit, Mudkit, Cottoncandypaw...they all grew up. She chose to let them go and explore a life outside of hers. No, she chose to leave them behind, to run until she lost all sense of direction. No, though she has lost children, she does not understand the experience that Xia has.

A person is a culmination of memories. Their memories define who they are as a person. The removal of any pivotal memory can fundamentally change a person's mindset. Grey knows that better than anyone.

She doesn't realize that Xia belongs to ShadowClan, until she approaches the female, alone, on the borders. The party was filled with animals from all over BloodClan's group of allies. Now, that she is alone, she recognizes the ShadowClan scent on the hellhound's fur.

She lowers her head, apologetically as she murmurs, "Good to see you again, Xia. Are you here on official ShadowClan business?"

"Too late," A voice teased, as a grey feline descended onto the building with the aid of her wings.

Though there is a cheery countenance on her face, there is an underlying wave of concern with it. Greymatter is not unused to the mischief that kits into. Arcadekit's antics remind her painfully of Mudkit's sometimes. The asthmatic kit saw no harm in going to the Exiles for trick-or-treating or fearlessly rushing into a raid. It's why she tends to curb Arcadekit away from such activities.

She aimed to reach down and give the kit an affectionate lick on the head, "Arcadekit, I'd prefer it if you climbed with supervision, dear."

"It appears not everyone is busy," Greymatter mused, mouthing a "thank you" to Arachnophobia.

A smile curves across her face, as she watches her daughter's excitement in bemusement. She could not deny that the excited fervor of kits was infectious. Kits are so unbroken by the world. They are so naive, ignorant and curious compared to their adult counterparts. She wished Arcadekit, in some ways, would remain that way.

"Never be afraid to ask for help, Arcadekit. I promise you that all of us are never too busy to help a clanmate in need."

It was fortunate, in the case of both the kits and the injured potential joiner, that Greymatter happened to traverse across the scene. As Commander, she saw it fit as her duty to patrol the biomes and keep an eye for any unwanted visitors. As a mother to three very curious kits, it was her role to make sure they safe and out-of-sight of any would-be predators.

So when she heard a crashing sound in the far-off distance, the feline took to flight at once. By the time she descended down to the crashsite, both Glasskit and Arcadekit were already gathered at the scene. She was relieved to see that they were cautiously viewing from the safety of some bushes and not out in the open.

"Stay back, let me handle this." She whispered to them, as she strolled past them.

The intruder did not seem like he planned on raining terror into the hearts and minds of all ColoredClanners with a broken wing. Nor did she scent any enemy clans on his fur, though that often didn't mean a thing when scent manipulation and multiple bodies are at play here. Still, she approaches cautiously, analyzing his injuries with a keen gaze. She may be Commander, but she is a medic through and through. It is a role she knows well, unlike her status as Commander. However, she knows better to delegate that role to Lucien rather than run herself ragged managing both the military and medical branches of the clan.

"Hello, my name is Greymatter, Commander of ColoredClan. What are your intentions with ColoredClan?" She hesitates, "We can provide medical aid if you'd like."

    // Welcome to CC!

    Lucien V.A.J.

"Feliks. I thought Yuri made it very clear that ColoredClan won't tolerate your...ilk around here." Greymatter hissed, as she strolled forward.

She glanced over in Arachnophobia's direction, disappointed in her causal attitude to the intruder. Blitzwing and Twistedhumor were exempt as they hadn't been around during Feliks' last visit to the clan where he touted about a possible alliance between the Cartel and ColoredClan. They were desperate for allies, yes, but not desperate enough to kiss up to the Cartel.
