    "Damn rogues."

    Ears twinging with a boiling irritation that sizzled inside the long-legged male as he watched the small group of filthy creatures within the shadows of the foliage. He had been watching them for some time now, keeping himself out of their way as his hatred for them grew as he observed them tormenting someone helpless and completely defenseless against their strength. Emerald optics shimmered dangerously while his ebony pupil slanted into a small sliver, tearing his gaze away from them and slipping himself through the undergrowth silently to follow the trail the smaller feline had gone. "Is he okay?" The question had been swirling in the depths of his mind for a minute or so and it had went unanswered until now as he followed him.

    The black smoke paused, standing by the treeline to gaze at the black kitten who was sitting at the edge of the river. It seemed he was debating on crossing but by the looks of his him he wouldn't be able to without being swept away by the strong current. He slunk toward him with a blank mask covering his face, however, there was a glimmer of sympathy glinting in his emerald orbs. "Hello." The kit greeted gently, slanting his cranium to the side a couple degrees as his oculars examined his injuries with a quick flash of his eyes. "He's hurt. I have to help him." But, he had no knowledge of herbs or any healing properties. What would he do, then? They would get infected without being treated... "Are you trying to cross the river?"

    Watching the smaller youth react to his sudden and silent appearance, his whiskers fidgeted slightly and his fleecy tail swishing gently behind him and brushing against the ground. He hadn't mean to scare the poor soul, but it was in his nature to arrive without being noticed. He guessed he'd have to noisily approach him more often, if they were to ever travel together. The kitten seemed easily frightened and... fragile, an easy target to get hurt more often. Suddenly, the Turkish Angora had the urge to protect him and guide him from harm's way. This made the hairs along his spine to rise slightly, though his face betrayed nothing.

    The black smoke gave a faint grunt in response, his chartreuse hued orbs parting from the weaker feline to stare past him as if he were thinking. His haunches lowered to the ground in a sitting position, curling his feathery tail across his paws and his eyelids narrowed around his visionaries for a couple moments until his gaze shifted back onto the black kitten. "I'll help you get there." he mewed placidly, swiveling his ears in the direction of the gurgling river. He would follow him if he said no or not, he was not going to let him be attacked again while he knew of it. Rising onto all fours once more, he faced the rushing water and turned his head to look at the kitten with his skull tilted to the side. "My name is Polarkit, by the way."

    His fur flattened against his slim figure and he gave a slow nod as he admitted his name. It was an odd one... but so was his. "Olivine... isn't that a stone?" It would explain things, since the color of his eyes matched the gemstone. That was a rather clever name, though his name was self-given since his parents had abandoned him long ago. His father was assume dead, though his mother simply left him and his brother since the both of them resembled their lost father. In fact, Polarkit was the spitting image of his sire and he wasn't even aware of it. So, without any parents him and his sibling simply survived on their own while helping each other. However, they become separated after his smaller sibling was killed during an attack that he wasn't present in. Finding the mangled body of his brother simply broke the once lively kitten and he was now the shadow of his former self, never to return again.

    Polarkit stretched out his paw and allowed the pad to tap the water, finding it was cool and felt rather refreshing on his tired paws. "You cannot swim, yes?" he inquired, pivoting his gaze back onto the newly named Olivinekit.

    [size=7pt]
    Polarkit would nod slowly, watching as he huddled by him though there was space between them which would be closed soon enough. If he couldn't swim well, then he would have no other choice but to help him cross the river. Since he was slightly larger than Olivinekit, he would be able to carry him though he wasn't sure if his strength would be bale to handle the both of them. "I'll carry you." he mewed, though it was more like a statement rather than a suggestion. If he was taken by the current, at least he would be able to get the smaller across. He'd be doing something good, saving someone from harm since he knew well that there happened to be a group of animals just down the path. They'd find him and take him in.

    [size=7pt]
    The Turkish Angora shook his head and flashed his tongue from between his lips, licking his muzzle before he replied. "Just kick your legs against the current." Polarkit stated simply, lowering his head down by a couple centimeters down to Olivinekit. "I'm going to grab your scruff, now." he mewled, his voice a bit gentler as he gave him the warning while aiming to grip the flab a skin where his neck met his shoulders.

    Polarkit lifted his head up, bringing the kit up with him as he took a step into cold temperate water. A chill ran down his spine as the liquid surrounded him and he almost panicked as he didn't feel his paws grip onto the ground. He immediately began kicking his legs wildly, tilting his head higher so the water wouldn't get into the mouth of the other. His heart was pounding mercilessly against his sternum, almost ridding him of his breath as his limbs fought against the current and bringing himself closer to the other edge of the river.

    [size=7pt]
    Polarkit inhaled sharply through his nose, turning his head slightly so he could get a better look at the ledge he was coming up across. His muscles were beginning to tire from the constantly fight against the water, he wasn't so sure if he was going to be able to cross without problems. He let out a soft huff, managing to gather the strength to attempt to toss the kitten across the length between the water and the ledge. Well, if he made it he would be able to relax a bit more and manage to get across easier. If his legs didn't go out before then.

    [size=7pt]
    The relief flooded over him and his tensed muscles relaxed slightly at the sight of the older female grabbing Olivinekit. He tilted his head upward, inhaling a gulp of air and avoiding the water from getting into any of his orifices. He almost flinched as he felt claws grip his shoulder fur, though it pinched at his skin slightly. He propelled himself forward with one last kick before digging his claws into the dirt of the edge. He panted heavily, weakly heaving himself up with his lower half still dipped into the water. His limbs trembled from both the cold temperature and the effort he put into swimming them both to safety. "I'm... okay."

    [size=7pt]
    Heaving in a trembling, wheezing breath the kit would pull himself fully onto the ground and lie on his side. His cold, emerald gaze drifted toward Silverdrift as he was once again filled with annoyance. "That was the only bloody way to get across!" he spat, a thick Australian accent tainting his words heavily. He coughed, his small frame lurching a few times at each cough.
