ooc; Oh, thank you! :)
ic; "My name is Goldenflare." He introduced himself, blinking a few times. He almost felt like he was tumbling into the open blue sky of her eyes. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Dovebreeze." He said, dipping his head slightly. Usually he never felt- nervous, was that what it was?- when speaking with other cats, but there was something about this she-cat that made his heart do uncomfortable somersaults. And they had only just met! Calm down. Everything is fine. There is no need to feel anxious about anything... Usually Goldenflare would be the last to feel worried about anything- worrying was his brother's job. Goldenflare was always laid-back, taking life as it came to him, going with the flow... and rarely did he ever feel this strange. He did his best to ignore the feeling, pushing it down inside of him. "I thought I had seen you around camp a few times, though we have never really met. I suppose you're just one of those cats that is very hard to forget." He said, smiling.
-
Frostwing stiffened when she thought she heard a small sound, barely detectable. Her emerald green eyes widened with alarm and she looked up and around at the trees. She could have sworn she saw a dark shape, hidden amongst the leaves... "Wh-who's there?" She called out nervously.
-
Alright! That's fine. :) Would you like me to make the thread for them?
-
Frostwing flinched again, startled by the other cat's entrance. "B-Bloodwing?" She stammered, remembering the fellow ShadowClan cat's name just in time. "What's going on here? Who are you?" She demanded of the other cat. She was very frightened- Killing me? The words echoed in her mind, and she shivered. She felt safer now that Bloodwing was here, though.
-
"Ah, has anyone else told you that?" Goldenflare asked, bemused by her reply. "It is true..." He said, more quietly. Why had he never spoken to this cat before? She seemed kind, and charming. Goldenflare had spoken to many cats in ThunderClan, at least once. He wasn't one to distance himself from anyone. Why hadn't he...? Then he remembered. He had seen her with another cat before- what was that cat's name? He couldn't remember. He shook off the thought. "Would you like to come back to camp?"
-
"Ah, I just woke up and couldn't manage to fall asleep again." He explained. "I decided to take a walk, because that always helps. I suppose you thought the same, then." Azurewing smiled. "I love going out at night. Everything looks beautiful in the moonlight, don't you think?" He said realizing right after the words left his mouth that this sounded slightly strange. I'm feeling slightly strange... He realized, and sighed. He looked to Minnowpool, and was a bit startled to see that her green eyes seemed sad. He decided he had better not point this out, not wishing to upset her further. "It's, um... a nice night." He said, and then purred with laughter, embarrassed.
-
Frostwing sidled behind Bloodwing, staring out at the loner Blazefrost, who was smiling as if amused. Somehow, this only made him more frightening. "What does he want? Why is he here, then?" She whispered to Bloodwing. Then, feeling more courageous, she shouted out at the loner, "What are you doing here? I don't have anything against you." Why would he want to kill her, anyway? The only cats that wanted her dead was so she wouldn't be such a burden on her clan anymore. She felt her pelt burn with shame at the thought. Perhaps she was a burden to her clan. But, Bloodwing had protected her, just now... she shook off the thought, retreating a little farther behind the powerful ShadowClan warrior.
-
Sablegaze padded out of the warriors' den and out into the clearing. His brother had left earlier that morning, undoubtedly to go hunting or patrolling, or to do something else that the perfect warrior would do. The long-furred tom sat down by the fresh-kill pile, his muscles relaxing. His stress levels were always lower when his brother wasn't around. For whatever reason, Goldenflare always reduced Sablegaze to a competitive, hotheaded kit. Sablegaze sighed. He knew that other cats thought he was difficult. He would probably never find someone who would be willing to put up with him. What... was that? He suddenly thought. What was that for? He berated himself. A mate... no, no one would ever want to have to be with me for more than a minute. It's out of the question. Would never happen. He shook his head and blinked his violet-tinted eyes. He was feeling lonely again- as he had been feeling; it was a lingering emotion that never truly went away- but he figured that there was nothing, absolutely nothing, that he could do about it.
-
-
"I'm alright, yes." Mistyheart said hurriedly to Patchfoot. "Oh, Swancloud, I'm so sorry... are you sure you're okay?" She turned to the other she-cat, very concerned.
-
Azurewing purred. "Well, you managed to catch the mouse, and that's what matters." He said. Minnowpool was staring into his amber eyes, and he suddenly wondered if she could see the emotions behind them. Could she tell how lonely he was feeling, just then? He thought he saw loneliness in her green eyes, too, but he couldn't be sure. "Perhaps we should bring the mouse back to the fresh-kill pile?" He suggested. "But... it is very nice out, right here..." He tilted his head a little. He had to admit, he didn't really want to leave, either. He liked sitting here, in the moonlight, with Minnowpool.
-
Sablegaze looked over at the light grey she-cat, Raventail. "Hello." He meowed tersely, not really knowing what to say. It got particularly difficult with these cats- if he grew fond of another cat, he always had to hide the emotion away, beating it down, because he was sure that they would never reciprocate. He sighed. Raventail just happened to be one of those cats, and he felt his heart flip over in his chest rather uncomfortably. "Prey is running well." He found himself continuing to talk to her, though he still had no idea how he should be talking to her. He unconsciously stared at her pretty face, her brilliantly green eyes... he had to tear his own eyes away, embarrassed.
-
"That's true." Azurewing said. "I'd be happy to share it with you!" He let her take the first bite of the mouse, and then took a bite of it as well. It had an odd woodsy flavor that he wasn't used to, but, he thought, the strangeness went perfectly along with the way he was feeling. "The other Clan members would probably freak out if they saw a mouse on the fresh-kill pile..." Azurewing purred with amusement at the thought.
-
"My name is Sablegaze." He meowed. "Pleasure to meet you, Raventail." He didn't say that of course he remembered her name- they had almost never spoken, but he had seen her many times before, and how could he possibly forget a cat like her? His heart did another painful flop. "With a clan this large, I know it is hard to keep track of everyone sometimes..." Sablegaze purred. He stared hard at the fresh-kill pile, then at his feet, and then at the sky- anywhere but Raventail's pretty face.
-
Ravensong jumped a little, startled at the sound of a new voice. "Oh, no, you're not interrupting anything at all..." She said, tearing her eyes away from Firerain's burning green eyes.
-
"Thank you," Moonfang said gratefully. He cleaned all of his wounds with the damp moss. He picked up one of the cobwebs in his jaws and tried to spread it over his shoulder to stop the flow of blood.
-
Frostwing's heart hammered wildly in her chest. What could she do? She definitely wasn't the most capable fighter, but what other choice was there? And if there was a time that this loner broke Bloodwing's back...?! What was this cat capable of? She wasn't going to start the fight, she knew it. She would probably just get herself and Bloodwing hurt or killed. She rushed over to the ShadowClan warrior's side, helping him up.
-
Azurewing sat in the silence of the night for a few passing moments. The stars twinkling above were beautiful, and the moon shone brightly in the sky... and he was here, with this other cat, with Minnowpool. It was strange, but at the same time, it felt right. For at least a little while, he felt the aching in his heart lessen. "Of course." He whispered back to her. "I am very happy to be here with you." He said, and it was true.
-
Moonfang picked up on her hesitation right away. "Here, I know the way to a nice hunting spot, here." He gestured with his tail to te camp entrance. He led her down a path that headed toward the river. "There is a lot of denser undergrowth around, so prey likes to try and hide out here. But, that also works for us, as the plants will hide us from their sight, and they'll never see us coming." He explained.
"I was here not to long ago, and I found that a badger was living here." Moonfang said. "Ah, don't worry, it's long gone now!" He said, purring slightly. "It may still smell a little funny in there, but there's no need to fret! I made sure the nasty thing left." The filtered sunlight caught a white scar on his leg. He had one on his shoulder, as well, from that encounter. "Well, enough about that." He flicked his tail. "Let's work on that hunting crouch." He dropped down into said stance. "You want to try? Just try to do it like this, it's pretty intuitive."
-
"Ah, just the usual." The long-furred tom grumbled, laying his head down on his paws. Raventail continued to stare at him, and he shook his head. "It's nothing, don't worry about it." There was a thoughtful pause. "Fleetpaw... is your daughter, isn't she?" He asked, only realizing just after he said this that it must sound strange, the fact that he knew this. "Um, I thought I had seen her before, and she looks a little like you." He said quickly.
