Gale closed his eyes slowly. "How easily they cast out their own kind... Clans are supposed to represent unity. Yet they seem to mistrust each other at the smallest thing." He opened his eyes and regarded the pretty she-cat before him. "I can understand why you wouldn't miss that. I was just about to go down to the riverside and look for some prey. Would you like to come along?"

Skyflight looks over. "Hiding, were we?" He purrs, tilting his head.
-
"Of course." Lydia gave a shy smile and bowed. She went to put the leftover roll of bandages back.
-
Skyflight purrs. "No need to be nervous. My name is Skyflight." He introduced himself.
-
Lydia paused as she stood in the washroom, putting the bandages away. Should I take a break...? If Shadow told me to, I have to. I can't disobey him, even if I want to keep working. She was almost afraid to take a rest, mostly of where her mind would wander to if she didn't have work to keep it busy.

Accepted! Feel free to jump into the RP. The thread is in my siggy. :3

Gale's eyes narrowed. "I can't imagine..." He made a small sound of disgust in his throat. "How can these Clans pride themselves on being civil and just? It's ludicrous." He sighed. "Here, the spot by the river is this way." The loner flicked his tail, motioning for Snowstorm to follow.
-
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance!" The silver tom mewed good-naturedly. "Good StarClan, our clan is so large it seems I don't even know all of my clanmates. It's remarkable!"

Itsuki silently followed Lexie into the deli, lost in thought. He was slightly surprised when prompted to order. "Oh, I'd like, um..." He took a thoughtful pause. "Chicken salad, please." He could clearly remember another time that he and Jun had stopped at a place like this, a while ago. "You eat like a vegetarian." "Chicken is not vegetarian!" But Jun wouldn't take it. "You're a growing boy, Kicchan. You need to get your protein, too." That infernal little... Itsuki thanked the person at the counter as they handed him his sandwich, simultaneously pushing his thoughts away. He had gotten so used to being around Jun all the time, his absence felt slightly strange. It was a sort of welcome kind of strange, though. A nice change. He felt like things would be very different if Jun was there with him and Lexie.
"To the beach?" Itsuki asked Lexie softly. Looking at her just then... something felt very odd. And it wasn't the fact that he didn't have an irritating voice in his ear, teasing him about a crush. He blinked a few times and ran a hand through his auburn hair, blowing a breath. At Lexie's questioning look, he shook his head. "Nothing, just thinking of things. Let's go." -
Skyflight blinked. "I'm sorry, is something wrong?" He asked.
-
"Ah, how silly of me, not to introduce myself! My name is Gale. Yours?" His tone was already lighter now when he spoke.
-
Lydia returned to where she had previously been cleaning. She picked up the rag from off the floor, toying with it idly in her fingers. Shadow was still there, but Star was not. "Is everything alright, sir?" She asked politely.
-
Emberstar padded along silently, lost in thought.
Bluepaw looked over to Juniperpaw. "They say that far away from here, there's a forest where other cats like us live. They live in clans, happily and peacefully. That's where Emberstar is taking us! We'll find a place in the forest and begin a whole new life!" He said, his blue eyes shining with a lively light.
Moonpaw nodded. "Thanks." He mewed. "I just hope everything will be okay."
-
Lydia bowed. "Hello, your highness. Is there anything you wish for me to do?" It was common courtesy for a servant to ask this of a superior, particularly the king or queen. She knew that Shadow wanted her to stop working for a while, but the king's word could overrule his. The servant bit her lip, her eyes trailing to the ground. Now simply being in Shadow's presence made her feel strange.
-
"Ah, really?" Skyflight sounded like this was only a mild surprise. "Are you lost? You're a little far from home." Then, he quickly added, "There's no need to be nervous! I don't care if you're from another clan, my clan, no clan... a cat is a cat, right? Is there some trouble?" He asked, sounding worried about her.
-
Itsuki took a bite of his sandwich and chewed thoughtfully. "It is very good..." He said. They were quiet for a while as they ate, until Itsuki broke the silence again. "Thank you for bringing me here," He said softly, his voice ringing with open honesty.
Jun gently stroked her hair with his fingers, his voice a low murmur. "Of course. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. I do like you a lot, Jessica. And you have no reason to be scared... I promised I'd protect you, right? So I'll keep you safe. I couldn't let anything hurt you."
-
Itsuki listened quietly to Lexie. Be wasn't even entirely sure of what to say. He knew exactly what it felt like to be an outcast in the world- but at least, in his case, he was given a second chance, and now he had Jun. As irritating as that kid could be, he was Itsuki's friend, and they had been traveling together for a while. They were outcasts together. They were very lucky to find a job, helping Lexie and Jessica. He took a steady breath and his eyes slid closed. "I know what you mean." He said, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's nice to find a place where you can belong." In that moment, he suddenly felt like he belonged...here. He didn't say it aloud, but he thought Lexie might understand that.
Jun laughed breathlessly. "Jessica, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" He nuzzled in close to her, so their noses were touching. "The feeling is mutual, sweet. I love you too." It was true, he loved everything about her. It had happened so quickly, having only known her for a day, but he was sure of this feeling. There was no mistaking it.
-
"Of course." Skyflight nodded. "Umm... you can always come back tomorrow, you know!" He said quickly. He was intruiged by this cat, for some odd reason.
-
Lydia sighed, but of course, could not protest. "As you wish, your highness." As she passed by Shadow, she said, "Have a nice evening, sir." with a sweet, well-meaning smile. She continued out of the room without another word, walking toward the servants' quarters for a break.

Raven's ears pricked up as an odd feeling came over her, as if someone was watching her. "Who's there?" She called out boldly into the unknown.
