she visibly jumped a little when the stranger, apparently named elise, approached her. it was her response when most creatures came up to her. she was just a skittish person, maybe, although she'd admit to that. the accent in the domestic feline's voice caused letha to tilt her head a little, blinking thoughtfully. she'd never heard such an accent. " i really like your voice. it sounds cool. " she hooted, exhaling gently before adding, " elise? okay. yeah, food and water would be great. "

- basic interaction w letha and we'll see where it goes? :0)))
letha is a reincarnation of one of my oldest characters i've had on ff. she is indirectly part of the radium and grammaticus families, with many ties to other family names. in her past life, she was a darkclan shp and had one litter with skeletonlullaby of darkclan. (the roleplayers of the pups went inactive). her default body is a pastel pink pygmy owl griffin with four black wings and round olive coloured eyes, but she has several other bodies and uses them accordingly. she can be a bit of a bruiser when she gets aggravated or annoyed, but her bark is much worse than her bite, and 99.9% of the time, she just laughs everything off. although she can seem like the typical passive-aggressive female sometimes, her moods and intentions change constantly, so she can be unpredictable. if one were to look past her rugged exterior, which she puts on only to substitute for her small size, she can actually be very affectionate and loyal. however, she is easily trusting and thus, she gets hurt easily. she also tends not to look before she leaps, in a sense, which makes her out to be a major f*ck up. a lot of times, she will blame herself and apologize profusely, even if the situation might not concern her at all. letha has some repressed self-hatred for herself, as well as mild abandonment issues and masochism that comes and goes. -

a simple hunt had really started to turn into a wild fucking goose chase. letha was almost one hundred percent certain she'd passed that mossy rock before. she could barely go by the stars; the thick canopy prevented that for the most part. it didn't help that she was small, and any ground she covered just couldn't seem to be covered quickly enough. she grunted in blatant frustration. oh well. shifting into something else would sap her of precious energy. besides, she usually got an aching headache afterwards. she'd never admit it, but she was truly lost.
the darkness wasn't much of a problem, seeing as though letha's eyesight was as advanced -- if not more advanced -- than any other owl, as well as her hearing, but for whatever the reason, as the petite pygmy griffin glided low over the ground at a leisurely speed, she couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. call it intuition, or whatever, but it was really starting to creep her out.
letha outstretched her talons, perching nimbly on a lower branch of a sequoia tree, frozen in place as she strained herself to pick up any movement.
" who's there? " she called into the wind, mentally reprimanding herself for the indirect owl pun. how lame.
anyway, her heart was thumping like a horse's hooves, and beneath her stoic appearance she was trembling with fear. getting eaten was definitely not on her wishlist.(she's going to give him a verbal smackdown when he steps out and reveals himself ^u^)

ha oh goodness. here goes.
okay, so! to make a long story short, letha is my currently active charrie. i'm planning on having her for a while, if all goes well with her and i keep my muse up! i want some extreeeme development for her later on. anyways. she's a pygmy owl griffin who's basically the size of a chihuahua (oh geez, i hope i spelled that right :0 ) or some other small animal, lmao. she is a light pastel pink color, fluffy, with four black wings that are more angular like a hawk's. her eyes are big and round, olive in color.
the first development i have for her is the thought that she will die and be reborn as a vampire. at first, she is unsure of how to control her bloodlust aside from hurting herself or feeding on lesser animals, but eventually she'll start murdering others in her clan, maybe. i dunno, just a thought!
personality wise, she's more of a tomboy, and passive-aggressive is her middle name. even though she is quick to catch a lie and can be brutally honest, she makes for a sarcastic, funny, adventurous friend. she has somewhat of a rugged persona sometimes, but that's mostly to substitute for her small size. she has other bodies, but shifting can cause her pain and/or mild nausea.open to:

(the witcher is such a great game omg. 10/10)she braced herself instinctively as the large crocodilian swaggered his way over, taking a step back as she eyed up his numerous teeth. she'd not seen a crocodile before, but from what she could see of him, letha only figured they were like sea dragons. sort of.
" hi, titus. " she greeted him, and to her surprise, she somehow managed to keep the fear out of her voice. and then came the wolf, who seemed intimidating in and of himself. she stood her ground, though, eventually piping up, " nice to meet you. all of you. " -

she was, obviously, quite puny compared to the direwolf that stepped out from the shadows, but instead of panicking like she really wanted to, deep down underneath of her ego, she stood up tall and glared into those piercing eyes coming out of the brush. from what she could make of his body language, he didn't seem like he wanted to eat her. she hoped that he didn't come to watch her meander around like she was lost. because she figured she had it under control, and she wasn't about to let some stuck up dog tell her otherwise.
" way to put yourself out there, buddy. who do you think you are, sneaking around and jumping out at people? what the hell? " letha turned her head to scoff, but shortly after she said that, her expression changed and she visually calmed down some. " what are you, anyway? i've never seen a wolf of your.. size. do you have a name? " she crooned, hopping down from the branch she'd been perched on to closer inspect the animal. fluffy pastel feathers ruffled up, she peered up at the stranger with some curiosity in her eyes.(and then letha would just laugh and feel pretty damn accomplished at that)

she'd been quietly watching the stranger as he approached the walls over eden, eyes round as dinner plates and green as an olive. from a distance, she probably appeared to be nothing more than a wad of cotton candy with eyes, or some sh*t. she was definitely small enough; six inches, maybe. anyway, it seemed that this guy was returning. of course, she'd never seen before, because she was new here. he sounded nice enough, and nothing about him said "watch out", so she decided to swoop down from atop the stone bricks near the very top of the wall, and let him in. or at least to ask for his name. black wings carried her down towards the ground in a nimble dive, but she landed gently a few paces in front of him. " name? mine's letha. i take it you're returning or.. something like that? sorry, i'm new here. never saw you before. " the pastel little pygmy owl griffin crooned, preening her wings idly to pass the time before he'd respond. -

(i feel like these two will probably be gr8 friends lmao)she blinked thoughtfully, slowly. " don't beat yourself up about it. they can't really blame you for that. think of it as.. personal time off. " she chuckled some, before dismissing that and continuing, " seriously, i think you're worrying for no reason. they have to take it from your perspective, yaknow? they ought to be happy that you're even returning at all. as far as your job's concerned, you've probably been replaced by now. well.. how long have you been gone? " letha had been looking at his little purple hoodie, which seemed to be awfully warm. somehow, it kinda suited ray. it didn't make much sense, but whatever. her tail, long and sturdy like a feline's, curled into a question mark shape as she'd spoken, as it often did when she was lost in thought.

(aww omg poor bab yes he needs many cuddles and hugs)letha rolled her eyes lightheartedly. ray's laugh sounded.. weathered. like he might not have used it in ages, and yet it was still so infectious, and it brought a smile to her face. " nah. pda's are adorable. like... rainbows and unicorns and fluffy shit. it just reminds you how much they care about you.[b] " she plucked a little bramble that had got caught in her, ironically fluffy, downy feathers. all the while, she thought to herself about her friends back home. wherever home was. she'd been a drifter since she was born, and she realized that staying in eden would be the first time she'd ever really stayed in one place for an extended period of time. she enjoyed exploring, and going place to place, but it was only recently that she started to think about settling down some. she'd been alone for too long, and being lonely never sat well with letha.
" [b]anyway, i guess i should be letting you in, huh? " -

she had no protest as alfred showed up and gave ray a bit of a verbal smackdown, all while breaking it to him that his friends had died. all of them? just a couple? well, shit. zero to a hundred real quick. as more members approached, letha withdrew a bit, staying quiet, only watching ray carefully to see how he'd react. poor guy. she had all the sympathy in the world for him, even if she didn't outwardly show it. -

she'd gathered herself in the middle-ish of the castle, and it was actually the first time she'd been inside. it was so grandeur and lavish, and she was starting to wonder why in the hell she didn't join the knights of eden sooner. the members were nice enough, and she'd already made a friend. it would take some getting used to, of course, but so far she was loving everything about the place.
" i'm letha radium-grammaticus, but letha works. hey, i don't bite. maybe. but whatevs. anyone wanna get to know me? okay, well i'm tired and hungry 90% of the time and i'm also the definition of 'procrastination', nice to meet you. " she chuckled inwardly at her own stupidity, reveling at how true it actually is. -

after their last encounter and how sourly it had turned, what with the news of his friends being dead or missing, letha'd thought to seek him out and make sure he's alright. because, damn, alfred didn't even let him down easy. no one even asked him how he felt about the situation. so, naturally, she'd oblige. it was the least she could do. ray was funny, and nice, from what little interaction she'd had with him. he really didn't deserve that. no one did. loss wasn't something to play around with.
it didn't take her very long to find his place of residence, after asking around or whatever, and she felt a huge lump in her throat as she prepared herself to enter. " uh, ray? you in there? " letha called, taking a deep breath. she honestly sometimes hated being the shoulder to cry on, mainly because blithering like a baby wasn't the most pleasant thing to be around. maybe that was just the proud side to her, because she knew that she would want someone talk to her and endure her crybabying. in any sense, she was stiff as she waited for a response of any kind. -

she wasn't sure what she was expecting when he answered the door. she did, however, feel her heart sink when he asked if she needed anything. he sounded so sullen. it made letha just want to comfort him and tell him everything was alright, but she couldn't lie like that. everything wasn't alright, and she'd be foolish to tell him otherwise. the most she could do was listen, maybe, if he decided to talk it out with her. she really hoped he would. " oh, uh, hi, ray. can we talk? is this a bad time? " she asked him gently, clicking her talons somewhat nervously. she tried not to let her concern show in her voice, but that was difficult, and she failed miserably. -

she nodded quickly and entered as soon as he stepped aside, peering around at the room. she didn't mind the clutter, and in fact, she hardly gave it a thought. once he had his back to her, letha relaxed the tension she'd been feeling to the best of her ability. which, again, was second to none. he started busily working in what appeared to be a garden, scooping up the dead rose petals and vines.
shit, he was making this so hard for her. now she just wanted to turn away and sneak out, and hope he didn't catch her leaving. he didn't want to talk about it. duh. the last thing she wanted to do was force any negative reaction from him, because, she supposed she should just leave well enough alone. maybe he'd be better off if letha didn't prod him.
her ears, which closely resembled those of a great horned owl, slowly drooped against her head. she didn't know what the hell to do, and she was even starting to panic. damn her people skills.
" i just.. well, i came to see how you're feeling. " she murmured, her expression falling. too late to go back now. " after earlier.. look, i'm sorry. i'm sorry if i come off as a pushy bitch or something, but... you could use a friend right now. being alone is no good for you. ray, you can talk to me if you want to, and if you don't, i'll understand and just leave, okay? " letha turned her back to him, dark wings unfurled and hanging loosely on the ground. -

when he mentioned his garden, relief hit her like a wave. okay, good, he didn't take anything the wrong way. that's what she was most afraid of. she turned to him again, peeking past him at the garden in question. thank god he changed the subject. well, sort of. she wanted to cringe at the little joke he made.
" no, i'll help out. free of charge. roses, right? " she jested lightly with a weak smile, meandering over to his side and gazing upon the flowerbed. she then sat up on her hind legs -- which had paws like a cat's instead of talons -- and grasped the air with one of her five-fingered 'hands'. " gardening is pretty cool, actually. " she didn't hesitate to point out, before leaning down and expertly snipping dead branches with her sharp beak, while her claws dug at the roots in the dirt. speaking of which, her pink plumage was quickly dirtied up, but she could care less. she was just glad that situation was settled. otherwise.. she probably would have shut down or some shit. -
