I had been out on a border patrol by myself when I heard the commotion o voices welcoming another. It had seemed like a good way to repay some of Riverclans kindness while giving myself some time to consider what my next move would be. Ever since I became seperated from my ffriends I haven't had the luck of finding so much as a single clue as to where they would be. GB, Mel, Jerome.. Everyone. I couldn't even go back to the Paradise to look for Father anymore, so far from home I'd wandered. It left me with a very lonesome feeling whose only combatant was my hope that we'd all be reunited one day.
With a soft sigh and gentle shake of the head to clear my thoughts, I decided the best way to cheer myself up would be to head over and greet whomever was at the border. The wind wasn't in my favor today, so for all I knew it could be a complete newcomer or an ally visitor. Hastening my pace I stepped out onto the path to notice a rather large crowd had gathered. I noticed Guts right away seeing as he was the most familiar to me, along with Killua and Marco, who I was also fairly familiar with. A few more were there to, some I recognised and some I didn't.
"Hey guys!" i greeted brightly as I made my way to join their little huddle- only to stop dead in my tracks as the canine they were all standing around became visible.
I stopped mid step in a moment of pure shock. I hadn't been expecting this, not in my most hopeful prayers even. Blue eyes went wide and I felt my jaw drop somewhat, because there standing on the border, alive and well and perfectly safe, was a face I had last seen in the chaos of my fathers Paradise when the humans invaded with their machines to level everything. So many had been crushed or captured for experimentation.
But not me. And not him.
"Jerome!" I cried as I ran forward, tail wagging harder than it had in a long time. I could feel my eyes fill with tears of sheer happiness. I wasn't alone anymore! One of my friends was safe! Perhaps it was too forward of me, looking back on it, but I was a child and overjoyed, and so I didn't think twice about nuzzling into the shepherds chest.
"Where have you been? Is anyone else with you!?" I asked, my hope rekindled at the thought of everyone being together again. Stepping back to look up at him, I'm sure this hope was visible on my young features as well as in my words.
