With my chin on my paws and my thoughts to myself, many would have mistaken me for unaware of my surroundings. That, of course, wasn't entirely true. You see, being aware of the fact that your surpressing a part of you that those around you hate can lead to a bit of a build up in the paranoia department. Now, I'm not caling myself paranoid, but after living pretty much the entirety of my fairly short life among a clan that would have run me out if my true self was ever exposed, I developed a habit of not being caught off guard. Not to say it couldn't happen, it just wasn't that likely.
That being said, I heard the other male approaching before I he called out to me. I had chosen a spot away from the main camp simply because it was too noisy there, and this much quieter setting made it easier to keep tabs on my surroundings. Hetero chromatic eyes flickered open, half-lidded, just in time to see the boy heading my way shape the first word to roll off his tongue, and in my mind I was smirking even though I knew my outward appearence remained neutral.
"Hey," he greeted. "I'm Awol. You new?"
Awol? An interesting enough name, I supposed. It was better than that paw/kit stuff that was always going around. My own name had been a pitiful testament to that, but after leaving home I'd seen no need to keep the traditions of this world- but that too had just been another desire of my Player, hadn't it? No decision was really mine, and it was perhaps that given knowledge more than anything that bothered me. I would never really be anything more than some story written on pages that would one day be forgotten, a figment that would dissapear as soon as the Player grew bored with me. And yet, I felt no desire to try and appeal to them, had no interest in making myself more interesting to keep their attention fresh.
Which of course always left the question, was I meant to last?
"Yeah, just joined a couple hours ago." I replied, sounding as content as I felt. Despite the fact that I'd been lazing about I wasn't too bothered by this guys appearence. He was younger than me it seemed, but not by much. Aside from that hot-head shewolf at the border who'd stalked me like a lovesick puppy, this was the only one my age I'd come across since arriving here. It couldn't hurt to see where this went. At the very least it would be somebody else to f.uck with, which was always worth something in my book. "The name's Fourthwall. You can call me Fourth if you want though. Our name's sound kind of similar." I offer with a small grin as I striaghten up into a sitting position and casually roll my shoulders, which needed to be stretched. "I was just about to grab something off the fresh kill pile. You can stick around if you want."
