And thus Rosei proves my point exactly xD 'It' has a negative connotation, even though it's not offensive - it simply means singular and genderless xD People have just used it so much as an insult, people take it as a slur - kinda like the word dyke. Dyke lliterally means a female who exhibits stereotypical masculine traits. However, it's been used a slur for so long, many many people can't tell the difference with it being used as slang/ just an indifferent description and an insult. Or if used in a discussion and the person doesn't want to type "a female who exhibits stereotypical masculine traits" over. and over. and over again.

He'd seen those before, in the first few months of his life - he was approaching his second spring, after all. However, he'd never been one for such things. For one, he was a guy - two, he was... well. He was Cain. Enough said. That, of course, didn't stop him from smiling at the kit genuinely. "They are beautiful," he murmured. Regardless of him being a guy, he could still acknowledge beauty. He wasn't that much of a guy.
