Sylmae was lost and sad. When she had found Vanitas' hut empty, a weird pain had filled her chest. She hadnt realized she had some inkling of feelings for him until he was gone, and that hurt. He hadnt left a note or anything. She sighed softly as she absently cleaned up her hut, doing her best to keep herself distracted. She was half tempted to return to the Flights to keep herself preoccupied.

The sound of an all too familiar voice at her door made her stiffen a bit. She didnt expect to hear from him, and she wasnt sure she wanted to. But she did still care for him, somewhere inside, no matter how angry she was at him. She padded over to the door and pushed it open, staring at him. "Of course I'm home.." she mumbled quietly.

Some part of her had hoped that maybe he hadn't really been pregnant, but it appeared it was true. She knew her and Cade weren't a thing right now, and now she was doubting she would ever want to be with him again. She didnt blame Haiiro, not one bit. She had always had a desire to have a large family, too, and she was beginning to think she wouldn't get that chance again. She moved forward, stopping beside Ulla as she looked at Haiiro and swallowed a bit. She knew about this, of course. Haiiro had been nice enough to tell her before he told everyone else.

She still didn't know how to feel about all of this so she remained quiet, her ears flattened. She wanted to cry, but she stayed strong and simply offered Haiiro a faint dip of her head.

She caught Cades scent as the apple rolled towards her and she carefully lifted a paw to stop it. She was hesitant to accept the hand out, but she knew he meant well. She really didn't want to fully be mean to him, though she didn't feel she had a reason to be nice. Lowering her ears, she grabbed the apple and meandered back to the group and dropped it near Grey, offering him a soft smile.

Ulla hosting a meeting was, well, odd to her. She had a huge respect for the other woman, but she hadn't quite realized that she was so high up in ranks until right now. She soaked up the information, doing her best to lay out and figure out just what she wanted to do, and where she wanted to join in. Shifting her paws a bit, she tilted her head and offered her a bow of her head but she stayed quiet as she waited for the others to arrive.

New faces, so many new faces since she had returned from her member exchange in the Flights. She hadn't expected there to be so many. But that was the way of Clan life, now wasn't it? Sylmae flicked an ear as she padded up beside Sear, her golden eyes softening a little bit as she gazed over at the wandering dog and she offered him a soft smile. "I don't think I've ever seen you before, but I have also been gone for a bit, on a member exchange. It's nice to meet you! I'm Sylmae, and I hope you're adjusting well." She squeaked softly. She felt bad that Sear had been so rude upon introduction, but he had also been that way with her when they had first met, so she was used to his grumpy attitude.

Look at that, another new face. Sylmae flattened her ears a bit as she padded forward, wings shifting against her back absently. She hadn't seen so many new faces in one place before, and she just wasn't used to it. Gone for a week for a member exchange and come back to a whole new world. Pushing the thoughts down, Sylmae made her way forward, her golden eyes flashing a little bit as she studied the picnic.

Picnics were one of her favorite things to enjoy, and she was happy to see that someone else was hosting one now. It meant that she would get to enjoy one without all the hassle of actually hosting one herself. She smiled and bowed her head in polite greeting. "Hello there! We haven't met, I'm Sylmae, and this Picnic does, indeed, look amazing! Thank you for having it!" She purred as she settled down near Mystle, curling her tail easily over her paws.

While her member exchange was close to ending, she was happy to be recognized as being here. She felt a new sense of calm while she was here in the Flights, and her powers had even slightly gotten under control. She didn't leave such a huge ice trail everywhere she walked anymore. She bowed her head politely towards Felix as she settled down her own, tail curling over her paws. Some part of her was debating dual-alliance and living here as well. She figured it couldn't be so bad, since Ulla was also here, she would know at least one face really well. She figured maybe she could ask Felix about that later on, see if it was okay. She hadn't done something like that in a long time, and she didn't remember how it worked. A content purr rumbled in her as she listened to him quietly.

A story telling game? This was something new to her, something she knew that she needed to try. She had spent too much time isolating herself, trying to adjust to everything that had changed in her life. She had missed a lot, here in the the Veil, and she wasn't happy about that. Some part of her was a little bit sad she had gone on her member exchange, but she had made some new friends, and she was really tempted to go over there and live there part time. She knew Ulla was there, and that made it all the more appealing. She would at least have someone by her side that she considered a close friend. She shifted herself up to the group, tail swishing behind her as she moved and she dipped her head to Lou and Ulla. "Suddenly, the large beast turned -" She said and sat down, curling her tail over her paws, excited to see where this story would go.

Knife throwing. Great, something she would be utterly horrible at, and possibly end up hurting someone in the process with. She figured that it may be best if she just decided not to participate, but she also needed to get to know her clan mates better, too. She sighed softly as she moved up beside Greygarden and gave Indrik a soft smile, and a polite bow of her head. "Hey there. I think I may have introduced myself already but I don't remember. Either way, I'm Sylmae, and I'm not really sure you want me throwing knives at things.. I might accidentally stab one of you, and that just doesn't sound like a good time." She gave a nervous laugh as she settled down and eyed the paint lines they were supposed to stab at.

Some part of her wondered if her aim would be any good at all, but she was too nervous to find out. She couldn't risk hurting someone here with her horrible aim.

Losing children was hard, and Mae knew a little of the pain that Ulla must be experiencing at this very moment. It was hard when you lost someone close to you, let alone when you lost a child. Someone you created. She flattened her ears at the thought and sighed softly. Some part of her doubted that she would ever get to feel the joy of bringing life into this world. But this wasn't a pity party for her, no, she needed to be helping her friend find her baby. She didn't know Wei very well, but she really didn't want to see any harm come to them.

She breezed passed Ambrose, offering them a dip of her head as she moved after Ulla. She hadn't known that the child had been taken until literally right now, and a sadness lingered in her golden eyes. So much had happened while she was mourning her own issues, that she was beginning to feel like she was out of place here. "I'll look everywhere that I can, Ulla, I promise." Mae bowed her head to the other woman and then ducked into some bushes, sniffing at the ground as she tried to pick up their scent.

What a scene to stumble upon. The smell of blood filled her nostrils and sent chills down her spine. No, she did not like this one bit. She barely knew Sylvanna, and it was so sad to see such a young life snuffed out. And while she still harbored some sense of unease towards Cade, her heart ached for him. She stayed back though, and watched the scene that unfolded, the mother who suddenly appeared and left a baby in light of a death. One life to replace another, perhaps, but such poor timing. A small whimper escaped her as she slowly moved over towards the slumbering little fox, golden eyes sad. "She will be greatly missed.." She said quietly, her voice cracking a little.

She was shocked, to say the least. She didn't really understand why he was bringing her gifts, but she figured he was only trying to be nice, to right his wrong, but she wasn't sure anything could ever fix the feeling in her chest. The feeling of being betrayed, replaced. Let alone, the pregnancy with Haiiro. He had stuck his foot in too many holes, and she wasn't sure he would ever be able to dig himself out.

"Very kind of you to bring these for me.. Thank you, comrade." She mumbled softly, though her voice had an icy chill to it. She didn't know how to feel, and she didn't want to be stuck in this position right now, battling so many emotions and struggling to not throw up from the anxiety that coursed through her. "I suppose you can come in.. Want some water or something?" She offered him the same kindness she would offer anyone else, because she wasn't trying to make an enemy.

Being snapped at in such a tone made the hair on the back of her neck rise. She wasn't really used to others talking to her in such a manner, and it made her want to curl up and hide. She didn't want to be in this position, dealing with his tone, because she felt like all she was prepared to do was burst into tears or die. Or both, honestly, but one could never be too sure what would happen first. "You know you're an asshat, right? And I don't normally say stuff like that. I know life isn't a cake walk, I've been here long enough to have figured that out. Hell, I'm probably even older than you, and that's weird to think about. Either way. While you aren't wrong, you probably should find a nicer way to say things." She muttered, something in her shifting a little bit. She didn't appreciate the way he was talking to her, the tone of his voice, and it made her want to try and stand up for herself, even though there were still lingering traces of the fact she had just cried not that long ago.

Trying to reintegrate your way back into society was really hard to do. She wasn't used to anything these days, as she had spent maybe a little too much time locked up in her hut when she had returned from the Flights. She had found that two of her close friends were gone, and her husband had been confirmed in knocking up another clan mate. Her life was a literal train wreck and she felt like she was lost, not sure what to do. She felt like she didn't belong anywhere anymore and she wanted to run far away. But she was doing her best to hang in there and not give in to the struggle that was going on inside her. She sighed softly and shook her head a bit, golden eyes focusing on the stream at her paws.

She had never been very good at fishing, but she kind of figured that today would be a good day to start. Why not? She would never learn if she didn't try, so she was going to. Worst case scenario, she just ended up splashing around in a lot of water for no reason at all, other than to make a mess of herself.

Twitching one ear, Sylmae stood stark still, staring into the water as she waited for that flash of silver, the tell tale sign of a fish. She wasn't sure how long this was going to take, and the feeling of being watched was starting to creep her out, but she didn't break her focus. She couldn't sense anyone near her, she had this undeniable feeling that someone was staring at her from the shadows. Who, she did not know, but she didn't like it. Pushing those thoughts down, she grunted absently, her eyes catching sight of that little flash of silver and her paw snapped out, hooking a fish. She let out an excited squeal and tossed it onto the ground, killing it with ease. Perhaps this was beginners luck, but she hoped that the rest were this easy.

LOU [You don't have to wait to post, just tagging for the little plot!]

She was arriving just as it seemed fighting was beginning to start. This wasn't really her idea of a good time, but she was here and she needed to help them find their clan mate. Even if that meant spilling blood. Hopefully it wasn't hers, and hopefully she didn't get in anyone's way. She wasn't the best when it came to fighting, but she knew what she needed to do. She could somewhat control her ice these days, so that would make her a little bit harder to fight, she liked to think. It was hard to come at someone if you were slipping on ice, right?

Having been so focused on the water in front of her, on trying to catch some fish, she hadn't really sensed the approach of Lou, and so she had been a little bit startled when the other joined her by the river. "Fishing? Do you..not know how to?" She asked as she looked up at her, her golden eyes widening a little bit. She wasn't meaning to talk down to her, or make her seem incapable or anything, she had just assumed that everyone in life knew how to fish. She had been taught at such a young age, it just seemed normal to her.

"In that case, I can show you! I was taught that you sit by the water, cast a shadow over it and sit very, very still, wait for the flash of silver and then strike. You have to be very fast! Sometimes, fish are faster than me." She giggled a little and swished her tail over the ground, her eyes refocusing on the water briefly before she pulled them away, tuning in to another voice, someone else who was questioning what she had just done. A small smile spread over her face and she shifted her wings a bit and bowed her head politely. "Hey! I remember you! Hope you're settling in well! And ah, here, let me show you! Well, let me show both of you! You can watch me do it and then try it yourself. I was taught when I was really young so it's really just like.. normal for me." She squeaked in an excited manner. She had always enjoyed teaching others how to do things.

Though she didn't realize how out of check she had gotten on her emotions, not that she was feeling sad or anything, but her excitement was throwing her control off. She turned and settled down, doing as she had described, casting a shadow over the water and waiting. Only, when she saw the flash of silver and struck out, the second her paw hit the water, the entire river iced over. With a startled yelp, Mae recoiled, ice curling around her paw as she stumbled back a bit, staring at the water in surprise. She had never done THAT before.
