IS THAT THE DEVIL IN YOUR EYES?

It's weird.
It's actually really weird to see the brunet beside him like this, stiff as a board, trying as hard as humanly possible to keep steady as the spooky atmosphere of the current movie they'd paid good money for and were extremely disheartened to find the plot sucked increased tenfold. Nioak almost laughs.
Yet, the chuckles die in his throat when they're blessed with a gorey jumpscare and Harue - no, Yukiharu, (he always forgets,) clutches to the sleeves of his lavender sweater for dear life, lips pressed into a thin line.
Nioak's somewhat afraid he'll faint with how hard he's trying.
And as if Satan himself had directed this hell of a film, the vicious chase scene involving a chainsaw and many, many blades begins. He almost misses the harsh "Shit!" that slips from the lavender-wearing male. He almost misses the way he's slightly shaking, grasping his sleeves so hard his knuckles are white. Almost as white as his face.
He's not sure how someone who's overthrown the government and peeked into Area 51 is so terrified by a bad slasher flick. The chainsaw lands a devastating blow to the protagonist's lower leg, and Yukiharu utters a quiet whimper. Nioak actually feels kind of sorry for him.
He feels slightly less sorry and more triumphant, though, when he nudges the other lightly and the boy immediately grabs his arm; he's pretty sure he can hear his teeth chattering over the poorly-made soundtrack. They're a little like a cheesy romance movie, he thinks after a while - but the thought is soon replaced by a happy hum as Yukiharu snuggles closer, the rapidly-flashing lights of the large projector screen giving him a sort of pretty glow.
The movie is almost entirely forgotten.
