Beck grimaced and bared her took at Noriko, but complied and pushed aside monks and priestesses alike. She reached the circle and stood behind Ren, placing her hands on his shoulders. She glowered at Noriko as he began to chant in another language, but focused on keeping Ren grounded and calm instead of his overly annoying and grating voice.

His chants only got louder, and her eye twitched a little. Taking a deep breath, she blocked out his voice and closed her eyes. Heat traveled up her arms, but it was comforting. Almost like when she used to sit by her fireplace with her mother and father, laughing as her little brothers wrestled by the couch. Those memories made her smile, and the warmth spread to the rest of her body. She didn't know what was making her warm, but she liked the thoughts it brought. It made her forget about the hardships that plagued her now.

Razketh growled at the band, and then at Lyra. "What is this contraption?"
"Let's go back to Zakriel and I'll tell you." She begins to climb back up the building, with him following close behind.
Once they reach the top she gets them to come over to her so she can explain, holding her wrist out to show them the intricate runes carved into the metal.
"These are connection bands. The three on our wrists are connected to each other, and that means that we will always be able to tell where the others are. Unfortunately, if one of us dies so do the others."
Razketh gaped at her, then became infuriated. "You attached me to a Fallen and a human!? Zakriel and I are already dead, and you die easier than both of us!"
"You can still die, and that means that I guess we're all sticking together. You know, it would be such a shame if I were to succumb to a horrible accident and bring you both with me to the gray blandness of being a ghost." She smirked at them, and Razketh snarled angrily.

Beck gave him the most outrageous look she could muster. "Why exactly?"

"Just do it now before the demons break free."

Beck blushes darkly, but came to kneel in from of Ren and quickly placed her lips upon his and pulled back. The pink skin tingled and she shivered, the unusual feeling making her uncomfortable. Noriko gave her a disapproving look and she returned it.

    "That...was not a kiss."

"It was so a kiss, just not the kind that adults share. I do not wish to have my tongue in someone's mouth, thank you very much." She glared at him and he sighed, looking to Ren.

"Oh great demon, be released from your imprisonment for the final seal has been broken. Rise oh great one and protect us." Beck scoffed at his words, but shut up when every gaze turned to her with scorn.

Lyra smirked proudly and crossed her arms. "I stole them from an angel. Of course, he realized a couple months later and now I'm damned, so no matter what I will never go to heaven. Not that I care, I'd rather wreak havoc than be strung up by morals that I'll find to be nearly impossible to follow. For your second question, I connected you because I was given the task of watching over demons and Fallens if they ever collided, and look what happened! A demon and a Fallen collided, so now I have to take care of you. But of course you would leave me behind and split ways unless you had a very good reason not to. So, I give you your reason." She spread she arms wide and laughed at Razketh's expression, which was a mixture between fury and bafflement.

Michael nodded, then began to walk away. "Well, I'm going to try and find a city so we can eat. Actually, what do you like? I've never had to feed a demon lady before, so I don't know what suits your fancy." He continues to walk away, not overly caring whether she follows or not.

Lyra froze up, eyes going wide and limbs becoming straight and rigid. Her mind scattered back to when she was confronted by that stupid angel, and she remembered the words he'd spoken to her. No matter how much she hated those instructions, she's had to follow them ever since that day.
"Uh...from the angel I stole from. She was...kinda..." She winced a little and looked sheepish. "The head of the Council. I've been receiving information from the council since I was assigned babysitting duty. They tell me all I need to know about angels, demons, Fallen, and everything else. They also inform me of new arrivals to earth. That's how I knew to come to this park, because they told me you'd be here. It kinda sucks, but it's better than suffering in fiery pits."

"Uhhh...." Lyra looked at the males and furrowed her brows. "First of all Razketh need sto lose the demon look." He complied begrudgingly and crossed his arms unhappily. "Now, how about I show you around town, explain anything that you don't understand to you.
"That will be a lot of explaining." He smirked and looked pointedly at Zakriel.
Lyra sighed. "Like you'll be much better." She ignored the demon's glare in favor of climbing down the building. "Come on, let's get going." She jumped down the last few rungs and Razketh simply ignored the ladder completely and slammed into the ground, straightening and grumbling.

Beck stared in horror at the demon. This was not Ren. No, Ren was kind and hated the thought of hurting anything. This... This creature was different and she hated it already, but she just couldn't bring herself to hate it fully for it was still the body of Ren, her most trusted friend. With a defeated sigh, she stormed over to the monk and pushed her face right up to his, anger flashing across her face.

"You are a damn idiot you know that!? You're an idiot for unleashing the demon and you're an idiot for not allowing me to do my job and protect you all." She held up her knife and pulled a water pellet from her pocket. "Is that not why I have these? To protect you ungrateful asses and keep Ren safe? Well I guess I failed at both of those tasks because of your actions!"

Noriko looked furious, and he raised his hand as if to strike her. Her gaze hardened, and she silently dared him to hit her. See how well that works out. She scoffed disdainfully at him when his hand lowered, and she turned towards Not-Ren. Her eyes narrowed.

"Just because you look like Ren does not mean I trust you, demon. Don't hurt Ren and we're good." She knew she could do nothing against the demon in battle, but she sure knew a couple curses she could place upon him that would majorly screw his life up.

Beck wished she could do something to help Not-Ren. She didn't want him being hurt, even if he was taking over her friend's body. She glared at Noriko as he spike and left, staying between him and Ren. When the door closed she turned to Ren and dropped to her knees to see if he was alright.

"Ren?" He did not seem very coherent, and she gently helped him to his feet and towards the door. "The demons are gone, it is safe now. We should return to the surface." It took a while to get up the stairs, almost ten times the time it took then to descend.

Once finally reaching the top, Beck took the extra time to take him to her room. Once he was laying on his bed she ran to the kitchen and got a bowl and filled it with luke-warm water. She grabbed a washcloth and went back to Ren. Soaking the cloth, she dabbed at Ren's forehead and neck. With a find smile, and soaked the cloth again and placed it over his forehead.

She sat beside him on a chair and rested her hand over his. "That demon is a part of you. Maybe you should start training with me. To be stronger and faster. Perhaps you and him could work together and help each other. It would be better than fighting for control." She sighs sadly. "I am truly sorry for not telling you about this, but I swore an oath to protect you and keep you ignorant."

    (kk)

Michael sighed and turned around to help her. He grumbled under his breath as he wrapped her arm around his shoulders and hefted her up. She was warm, a lot warmer than anyone else he'd met before. He almost sighed contentedly and leaned into her, but stopped himself with a small blush. Nope, not getting closer to the demon lady than he had to.
"So uh... What do you eat? I kinda need to know if I'm going to get you food." He gave her a small smile, then redirected his attention back on the forest that they had just entered. Hopefully he could find his way out if here before morning.

Razketh was grateful for the distance between him and Zakriel. The Fallen had a terrible smell. Like that of burned order and rotten fruit. It made his nose curl, but at least it wasn't as bad as the small of angels. At least Lyra had a pleasant smell, like that of spices. It was pleasing to the senses, and perhaps that is what had stopped him from attacking her. Very few humans had nice smells, and she is only the second he has encountered. The other smelled or oranges, but he's killed the male in a large massacre. Finally, he registered what Zakriel had said to him
"There ae many things that demons learn from being with the humans that angels will never understand. At least not from their oh high and mighty posts in the sky." He snarled and bared his teeth at the Fallen, but looked away when Lyra gave him a sharp look.

Razketh chuckled and ducked down a little stare at Zakriel right in the eye. He may not be his true height, but even in this pitiful human form he was taller than the Fallen.
"I'm not the one that smells like rotten fruit and order turned to chaos."
"That has a smell?" Lyra raised an eyebrow at him.
"Yes, have you never smelled fruit in a garbage bef--"
"No, I mean the order turned to chaos." He glowered at her for interrupting him. "That has a smell?"
"Yes it does, and it is one of the worst smells I have come across. Very nasty. It's why I don't like to stick around Fallen." He glared at Zakriel, then at Lyra. "Your fault."
Lyra barked out a laugh, then her faze turned thoughtful and she turned to Razketh with an odd look on her face, curiosity sparkling in her eyes.
"What do I smell like?" Razketh became a little flustered. He hated talking about smells because he was different. Most demons could not smell very well because of how long they spend in the underworld. He was different, he retained his sense of smell and thrived on it, using it for many things like tracking and differentiating the holy or unholy from the mortals.
"You smell like spices. A nice scent, if I must admit. Much nicer than most." He gave a thoughtful look to Zakriel. "Though I guess even he smells better than those horrid angels. Not as stuck up." He scoffed mentally at himself. Had he really just complemented a human and a Fallen? Wow, he was going soft.

Razketh glared at Zakriel, but he could not deny the truth in the name. He was quite a bit like a blood hound, no matter how demeaning the name was.
"First, we're going to go get you two some more..." She looked at their clothes, one with ratty and torn clothes and the other with clothes that looked like they'd been burned and patched up many times. "...suitable clothing."
"I look just fine thank you very much." He hated the thought of changing, generally brighter demons nor angels changed, for they had no need to. They did not have a body odor, simply a smell that stayed with them forever.
"Not for blending in you don't." She gestured around at all the people staring at them. "New clothes for you two, then food."

Michael nodded, then smirked and looked around. There were plants everywhere. Wonder if he could get her to eat oak leaves. Though...she may know that certain plants aren't good to eat. What plants weren't around back from before she was put into the tree? Uh... Oh well, guess he'd just suggest it to her.
"Well, there are plants everywhere. Technically you could have a feast here." He only realized after speaking that maybe making the girl angry wasn't his best move. Maybe she wouldn't take it sarcastically?

Lyra nodded. "Sure, I could use a puff myself." She chuckled at the way Razketh grimaced. "What? Aren't demons supposed to be all for the bad stuff?"
"Yes, but cigarettes are simply disgusting and even for the dead they erode your body. I do not know how you two can stand those...atrocities." He wrinkled his nose at the thought of the smell.
Lyra chuckled again and led them into a store for men's clothing. They looked around the same size, so she led them to where the casual clothing was and told them to pick whatever.
    "Just...please, nothing too expensive."

Beck began to rub soothing circles on the back of his hand, smiling at him warmly. He was always so worried about others no matter what they did to him. His selflessness both made her smile and frown. It was a good trait sometimes, but in certain cases it could get him killed. She also did not understand his compassion towards the monks and priestesses. They were greedy bastards, the lot of them. Nothing but cowards who only cared about themselves. But she didn't voice any of this, for she did not want to upset Ren, and kept the smile on her face.

"No, no one was hurt but the demons." Then his past words came to her, how he'd asked about the training. "I'm sure you'd be aloud to train with me. Now that the demon has been released, the monks would be idiots not to allow you to prepare for when it next takes control. Not that they aren't idiots already, but I'd think even lower of them if they denied you the chance to learn hoe to fight and protect yourself should you ever need to." She got up and went to the door, turning to speak to him before leaving. "Stay here and rest, I will get you fresh clothes." And with that she was off towards his room, walking calmly down the halls while her mind spun and she yelled inwardly at everyone she saw, angry at them all.

Michael stared at her for a moment, awed. She may look like a demon and be really warm, but he hadn't thought she could breath fire. That was super cool. He really shouldn't bring it up, but when was he ever sensible in what he said? Really, he'd been beat up plenty of times because he couldn't keep his stupid mouth shut.
"You can breath fire?" His eyes were wide and screamed of curiosity. Now he was just walking in a random direction, because he really had no idea where they were and trying to find out would be almost impossible. Thankfully, there were no forests left that would take too long to get through, so they should be able to get out of the trees soon enough.

Michael laughed, throwing his head back and stopping so he didn't trip over anything in his glee.
"Lady, there are no villages left. They're called cities and towns. Actually, I guess there would still be villages in, like, Africa or Afghanistan. Or...wait...have those places been taken over too? Hmm. Alright, more than three quarters of the world belong to one big bady. So, two years since she tried to take over Australia. Succeeded a year later and set out for some smaller places. Has she even set her sites on Africa yet? Man, if she hasn't she's smarter than I thought. Those people can get vicious. I think." He stopped his himself with a nervous laugh, realizing he'd been rambling again. "Sorry, didn't mean to go on like that." He continued to walk, and nearly jumped for joy when he began to smell the tell-tale scent of car fumes.

Michael laughed again, albeit not as loudly or violently. Almost like a chuckle. He should have known she'd hate the smell of the city. It was a hard thing to get used to if you've never been subjected to it before.
"That's what cars smell like. Cars are basically big hunks of metal and other things that people sit in and drive around. They run on electricity and oil, a flammable liquid -in case you didn't know that already- and recently there have been hover-cars. Cars that run on energy gained from the light of the sun and have no wheels, instead floating above the ground and sometimes soaring through the sky like a plane." His grimaced, realizing she probably didn't know what a plane was either. Man, explaining all of this to her was going to be difficult.

Michael frowned a little, looking at her and studying her face. She seemed...sad, almost. He wondered what it would be like to wake up in another time and have no idea what's going on. He's sure it would be horrible, and began to feel bad for her no matter how evil she was and what she tried to do to him earlier.
With a small smile he began to lead her into the city, hoping that the extravagantly-dressed people and marvelous lights and designs would cheer her up a bit. Meanwhile he'd be trying to find a place to eat at that wasn't sh*t and had a good selection of plant foods to eat.
