It took a very, very long while for the Blue-Streaked Lory bird to actually realize what had happened to him only moments before, and he still felt as if the whole world was on the weight of his shivering wings, flat to his sides yet not the tiniest bit still, seeming to flop like a fish in an awkward way; it wasn't just his wings, although he couldn't exactly feel the rest of his feathery red and blue-streaked body, for he was too nervous to even flick his wide, black orbs around, let alone his whole pitiful self. He wondered what he even stood upon, for he couldn't even remember that precise object underneath him. He felt like he could have moved, oozing out all his energy in the matter of moments, though it took his brain a long time to let the thought of the mansion--shaking it's very self--to dissolve.
Going by the proud name of Alzuri, the rather large bird twitched his foot once and immediately felt something like wood beneath his strong, sharp talons. His tail feathers dragged against whatever he was upon, but he didn't put any weight in them, especially not at a time like this, when he felt as if one movement could make the mansion start moving again. He was no dumb bird, yet a smart and cautious one, a bit of a know-it-all, if you asked anyone who knew him.
Finally deciding that cowering there wasn't worth it's doing, he finally turned his head as slowly as he could, his little black eyes glowing like pure black emeralds. All his feathers were fluffed out, just like a cat, and all he did at that very moment was stay still. Maybe one lucky soul would help, he thought pitifully, starting to open his wings with ease. I wonder where the humans are. That thought only stretched in his mind without a worry for a while, though, after quite some time, the actual seeping presence of it jerked himself fully awake, and he glanced around wildly, almost looking as if he were dancing like a parrot. He squawked loudly, the sound sending an eerie echo throughout the mansion's base, and he stretched his wings wide, leaping off the object that he then realized was a table, and soared through the air, his chest suddenly heaving with the thought of something incredibly bad happening to any creature with a pounding heart in this house.
A gulp went through him, and that almost made him wince mid-air as he felt searing pain through his chest. He knew it wasn't the best time in the world to check over his injures, but the awful pain of it shot through him like lightning, forcing him to come to an abrupt halt and pummel down. He tried flapping his wings, though they felt like they wouldn't support him anymore. Taking in a gasp of surprise, he felt himself land harshly against the ground, rolling over a couple feet, and the presence of the carpet making him stop. The way he fell just made him feel worse, and he squawked horribly in pain. One of the glass shards must have cut through him, he realized, as he watched crimson-red blood drip out of his chest, making a tiny little puddle he wished for the whole world he wouldn't have to see. He put his left wing upon his chest, and felt no sharp substance of clear glass, that didn't look like it hurt, but really was an enemy to the skin.
He tried shoving himself upwards, but he just couldn't manage to do it. Heaviness hung in the air like a thousand birds blocking out the sun, and he felt like bees were crawling under his feathers. Letting a groan escape his sharp blue and red beak, he rolled over onto his side and cringed, feeling horribly awful. He let the dizzyness surround him, and he let himself faint supposedly in the middle of danger.
