It had been a long night. A long one, too. Meekly, the kitten scrambled up a long beach, not much in sand. There was a forest nearby, which she dared not to enter. With dawn light only yet to reach it's peak on the dark, winter sky, it felt unreasonable to enter something so dark, something that she could get lost in so easily. A frown forming on her muzzle, the blonde carried on. Her paws were cracked, on fire with pain. A long journey for a being that was as young as she was. Swallowing nervously, Harleen looked around again, blue eyes deep with fear. Whatever this place was, it was scaring her. Such a large piece of lang couldn't be deserted. It was logical to assume some forms of beings lived on, somewhere. Only, where? So far, this place seemed completely empty. However, a stale scent hang in the air. She wasn't near enough stupid not to notice it. Maybe just from the day before it was, but what being it was? Was it dangerous? Life-threatening, perhaps?
Many questions arose in the young kitten's mind, none to which she could find an answer to. "Come on Harls, we both know we can't go on like this." She eventually meowed to herself, voice weak and raspy due to the amount of time it was unused. Hardly making progress anymore, feeling herself ready to collapse, she sat down, flicking her tail in annoyance. "Only a moment... I just need a little rest." She promised herself within a whisper, looking around. If resting was to happen, then she'd need to find some sort of a hiding place. Otherwise, she'd be too exposed to attacks. Leaving tiny pawprints behind, she went ahead to slip under a piece of greenery on the edge of the woods. It was a shrub of some sort, she couldn't precisely tell what kind, not interested quite as much on plants as she could be. A satchel was neatly set to her side, filled with items she collected on the way.
During the cold season, it brought a little bit of warmth. Puffing out her coat to preserve some body heat, she curled up next to the somewhat large bag, snuggling far enough to make herself hardly visible. It was still dark, so unless something crossed her prints, it wouldn't be too easy to find her. And anyway, she'll keep moving after she rested a tiny bit, so time was on her side. By the looks of things, it wouldn't be long before the prints were only a memory, until waves swallow and hide them away from the rest of the world. Nobody had to know about her existence, not about her presence, not about her. Warm eyes watching the beach from under the branches, looking for any sort of movement nearby, she watched the dark sea flick back and forth, lulling her to sleep.
