The red tabby queen purred as Salamanderkit and Shimmerkit bounded from the den, their eyes alert. She set Moonkit down, her tail curling prospectively around her blind kit.

Shimmerkit bounded to Jaggedfang, her tail held high,"teach me something!" She jumped on the Tom cats paw

Gingerflame flicked her ears. "Shimmerkit come back here." She scolded her daughter

Gingerflame shoved Moonkit to her sister. "Get back in the nursery and stay there."

The red kitten nudged her sister back into the den, ignoring Moonkits mews of protest as she searched for her mother with her blind eyes.

Gingerflame dashed forward and snatched her kit off the ground, shooting a grateful look at Jaddedfang. She hurried back to the nursery, depositing her kit in her nest. She slid back out, her pelt bristling as her brilliant eyes followed Goldstar

She nodded, "Very well." the tabby warrior headed to the center of camp, settling down and watching over the clan. She flicked her ears, marveling in the sunlight that warmed her pelt

Melodystar flicked her ears, wrinkling her nose and settling down in a patch of sunlight

He watched the apprentice carefully, recalling when he was that young. "When I was your age," He began, "there was no Iceclan." he twitched his whiskers thoughtfully. "A friend of my fathers started the clan when I was ready for my warrior name. His name was Icestar; the clan was named after him. I was the first deputy, my father, Darkwhisker, was too old at the time." He smiled slightly, flicking his tail over the tom's ears. "Be patient with Sunlightfeather. As I am sure you are well aware, you are her first apprentice and she tries her best to teach you the only way she knows how. She too, dose not have 'clan' blood."

Asterwater padded calmly, flicking his tail and slipping back into camp, twitching his nose. He padded to his sister, touching his nose to her's with a deep purr of affection.

Melodystar licked him between her ears, her eyes glimmering with love
