Sweetberry cheered the new names along with the rest of the Clan. She tilted her head to the side, remembering how junglepaw - no, wolfpaw - had been so brave during the fight with the badgers. Her heart glowed as she looked at each of her Clanmates, each of them having done brave and selfless things during their lives. Then, her eyes settled on Ripplemask's body. Her vision clouded, but she shook her head, and tried to get Dovestar's attention, pointing at Ripplemask's body with her tail, trying to tell her: We need a new deputy before moonhigh!

There was a note of surprise, and a small bit of awe, in her tone, but it was so well repressed that only cats that knew her really well, like Spottedpaw and Dovestar, would detect it.

Sweetberry looked down at Peace, and felt a little bit better. She looked up at Dovestar. "I'll bring Peace into the medicine den, so she doesn't get hurt by the foxes if they come," she meowed. The medicine den was in a cave, so Peace would be better protected than if she sat around looking like fresh-kill. Also, she wanted to be ready for any bad wounds.

Sweetberry merely nodded in response, though inside, she sighed with relief; eye injuries were difficult to fix. She got the blood off Dovestar's face, and carefully rubbed the dock onto the scars, cleaning the wound. Then, she chewed the marigold into a poultice and secured it on Dovestar's face with some cobwebs. "You'll have to try not to make many expressions while you have this on, so it doesn't fall off," she meowed, only half joking. She looked around camp, looking for anybody with bad injuries.

Sweetberry stared at Wolfpaw hard. "Are you sure?" she asked Sweetpaw. "You could have just talked incorrectly for too long, or breathed in some dust. Then you would just need some... honey." Her voice slowed at the word 'honey.' That option would only be slightly better, as she had no honey, so his throat would have to hurt until either his voice came back or she found honey, and she hadn't found any bee's nests on the territory yet. She walked over to him and gently placed her paw on his vocal chord, and gulped when she realized that Sweetpaw was right. She made a mental note on how good Sweetpaw was at seeing that, in case she had to replace Speckledpaw, because she had no idea where she had gone.
