"Alright," Jay said, following her. His eyes, however, darted around the skies just in case Team Rocket would attack now. Jay shook his head. Nah, they were probably blasted off to somewhere far away. "So... I know we've only started our journey yesterday, but... Are you starting to miss home?" Jay asked softly.

"Kinda. I miss Mom and Dad back home, but at the same time excited that I get to capture Pokemon and explore Hoenn," Jay replied. He pulled out his map and went over it. "Well, according to the map, we'll arrive at Petalburg in about thirty, maybe fourty minutes, tops," Jay said. Hope that Zane won't beat me to the Gym before then, Jay thought.
-
After a long while of walking, Jay could see Petalburg City, about in ten minutes' worth of walking distance. He picked up his pace quite deliberately, but at a pace where he made sure he wasn't going to fast for Serenity to catch up. Soon, they arrived at Petalburg City. "Here we are Serenity! Where first?" Jay asked.
-
Jay nodded in agreement. "Good idea," he said, before walking off into the direction of the Pokémon Center. He arrived at the enterance and waited for a while before going in.
-
Jay followed her and went out the door out to the field. Jay released Treecko and said, "Okay, we're ready!" "Tree!" Treecko said.
-
"Alright, Treecko, let's do this! Pound, let's go!" Jay said. Treecko charged at Torchic and attempted to hit Torchic as hard as he can with his tail.
-
"Treecko, jump!" Jay said, and Treecko leapt high into the air. "Spin and use Pound!" he commanded. Treecko then started spinning rapidly in Torchic's direction and once again tried to hit Torchic on the head with Pound.
-
"Treecko, dodge!" Jay said, but not fast enough. Treeecko was hit and slid back a couple of feet. Jay wasn't sure if Treecko was hurt, but even if he was, Treecko definitely wasn't showing it. "Atta, boy! Treecko, Pound, but this time, at full speed," Jay said. Treecko charged up to Torchic at an almost blinding speed and used Pound.
-
"Thanks. You did just as great too," Jay said, smiling. "And you," Jay said to Treecko, "were amazing." Treecko couldn't help but give a proud grin. "Anyways, we should rest for a bit before we go to the Gym. What do you think, Serenity?" Jay asked.
-
Jay took out his water bottle and drank from it. "Let's go inside for a while," he suggested. He then went inside to rest.
-
"So, after my Gym battle, where do we head off next?" Jay asked, slumping into a couch as well.
-
"Well then, after my Gym battle, we should probably get working on your Contest, no?" Jay asked. "And, I also have to think about my Gym battle at Rustboro," he said.
-
"Yeah, alright," Jay said. He exited the Pokémon Center and walked to the Gym. A while later, Jay arrived at the Gym. He entered and said, "I'm challenge the gym."
-
"Yes," Jay said before taking a Pokéball from his belt and releasing it. "Go Lucario!" Jay said.
-
"Alright, Lucario, let's take that head-on," Jay said. Lucario was hit by the attack but stood strong. "Alright, Lucario, Power-Up Punch!" Jay said. Lucario charged at Slakoth and attemped to drive his fist right into Slakoth.
-
Lucario once again was hit by the attack. Dang, he's good, Jay thought. "Alright, Lucario, let's show them we're not fooling around! Bone Rush, let's go!" Jay said. Lucario then charged up to Slakoth and attempted to hit it with his bone.
-
The bone dissolved away as it clashed with Return. "Alright, Lucario, Power-Up Punch!" Jay ordered. Lucario once again attempted to hit Slakoth with Power-Up Punch.
-
"Alright, Lucario, dodge!" Jay said, Lucario then doing so. "Bone Rush, let's go!" Jay said. Lucario spun his bone like a staff and charged yet again at Slakoth and hitting it with the bone.
((This is going to be a looooong battle.))
-
((That's the same thing that goes through my head everyday... Well, my parents the only normal ones I guess.))
Lucario was inflicted by the attack. He started to feel a bit dizzy, but he shook his head and remained strong. "Lucario, Aura Sphere!" Jay said. Lucario then sent the glowing blue ball towards Vigoroth.
-
((I won't even ask...))
"Lucario, dodge!" Jay said. Lucario then avoided the attack. "Power-Up Punch, let's go!" Jay commanded. Lucario then charged up to Vigoroth and used Power-Up Punch.
