IC: Marth gave a frustrated grunt, "If they are just acorns, then mother nature is a serious capital P in the A," he put them in this pouch and then looked back to Cassie, it was late and everyone was more than likely asleep, "However, what I want to know is why do you have a fake license ma cheríe." he said with an exaggerated bow to Cassie. "You don't have to answer, I'm simply, just a bit...curious." he said with a smile and light-hearted wink.

    OOC: Hey, I'm back :)

IC: After the story Marth nearly chuckled, "Cassie if that's why you avoided it earlier, it doesn't matter, We are all rejects of society here. I mean, hell, we aren't even fully human, we are half and half, doomed to wander the line that separates the divine and mundane." Marth then actually gave a small chuckle "You see, the point I'm getting at Cassie, is that we are all on the same boat, don't get me wrong, we're all independent, each of our stories are special and define us. However, it shouldn't matter that we're different in that sense," He gave Cassie a small pat on the shoulder, "we should feel happy and safe with each other, we're all we've got." He would have continued on how all demigods should feel that sense of unity because they are special, separate, not truly of either worlds, but that they should never feel lonely, because all of them are the same. He smiled and to break the weird tension he was starting to feel, he looked down at the acorn. "Well, I guess its a nice souvenir. Thanks for the acorns o mighty forest." He said jokingly. He looked up at Cassie with a half smirk and raised an eyebrow, "Well Cassie? Would you like to join me in a glamorous patrol around the trash dump?"

    OOC:

IC: Marth was feeling light-headed, his heart was racing and he was pretty sure his palms were a river of sweat. 'Am I sick?' was his first thought. 'Nah, impossible.' he told himself. Cassie had given a nervous laugh and they were now walking through the woods around the dump, when he started to notice this weird feeling in his chest. In an attempt to hide his nervousness, he asked " So, Cassie, does anyone ever call you Cass? If no one has I'm surprised." He said with a small nervous and dry laugh. When his hand brushed hers, he felt feverish, and he slowly began to count up the symptoms to work out what sort of disease he'd contracted. 'Fever, light-headed, cold sweat, coughing, dry throat.....Flu? No, demigods can't get the flu....Denge fever? No, I haven't been bitten by a mosquito.' As he tried working this out in his head he suddenly knew the answer, but was loathe to realize it "I'm in love." he said aloud by accident. His heart nearly jumped from his throat as he spontaneously added "The weather this night." to the statement before. 'I'm screwed, please? A lightning bolt, anyone?'

    OOC:

IC: Marth laughed "You know the weather, its great!" he exclaimed while mentally screaming 'Crap! Crap! Crap!'. His cheeks were burning and he couldn't stop the red that creeped onto his cheeks that mirrored Cassie's reaction. He felt weird, 'This kind of crap only happens in TV shows and fairy tails.' He thought, but he couldn't help the guilt that panged in his heart when he looked Cassie in the eye. He mentally debated what he should do, confess? Laugh it off? What if she liked him back? He finally gathered the courage to look at Cassie and opened his mouth, even though its only been a few days, he'd fallen in love with this quirky, tough yet sweet, person. "Cassie....I'm not going to lie or cause any more pain, I need to tell you the truth, I really like you." he said, quickly and awkwardly. He looked at her, ready for her response.

    OOC:lol me too ;)

IC: Marth laughed at the absurdity of it all, "Why not?" he asked. He felt heartbroken, not because of being turned down, but because Cassie's words rang true and it pierced his mind and heart like a blast of icy wind. He knew he shouldn't, couldn't fall in love with someone that he'd just recently met, but it just seemed right. Marth felt tired and equally trapped, he desperately wanted his feelings accepted, yet, Cassie seemed to be slowly morphing into the one he knew before, cold and distant. "Forget about it Cassie, just forget about everything, we'll both agree to leave it, the subject, dead. I understand, you don't have any feelings for me." He said dejectedly. Marth's whole being burned and he wished now, more than ever that someone could help, he felt awkward and weird and he felt abandoned. "I'm sorry Cassie." said Marth with a weary smile "You can go back to base, get whatever rest you can, the sun'll be up soon, I should know." He said and turned his back. He couldn't help, but recall how Helios had once caught his father, Ares, cheating with Aphrodite, except this wasn't cheating and he had been turned down. As he walked away from Cassie, he barely lifted his head, he just kept walking, as if the pounding of his feet might drive away the feelings that stormed inside his heart.

OOC: Sorry its so long I got really into it :-[

IC: Marth desperately strove to erase his feelings, yet nothing was working. In defeat, he sat down and put his back up next to the tree, that was when he heard the noise of something slithering nearby. His instincts kicked in and he slowly stood as he attempted to see the something out of his peripheral. The suspense was almost enough to kill as he watched the claws of something wrap around the trunk right above his head and he heard the voice of the owner argue with another creature "I told you I ssssmelled them, the ssstrong ssscent of Ares and Athena, my mouth waters at the ssssmell." rasped the monster. "Well, wherever they were, remember the massster's ordersss, we are to bring them back alive sssisster." hissed the other. Marth pulled out his staff and attempted to make a plan, then he stepped on a twig. 'What a cliche, this better not be the way I die.' he thought as he ducked. "Catch him!" screeched one. By now, Marth assumed they were gorgons, he was going to have a few issues. He rolled to the side and evaded a massive bronze wing that would have sliced him in half. Nothing existed for him now except the safety of his friends, he would not allow danger near them. The gorgons stepped into the light and their bronze tusks and matted hair came into view. One attempted to dodge around him and attack from behind, he swung and knocked her back. "Little boy, jusst come with usss and we promisse not to hurt your friendsss, we jussst need to chat." said one with a what she thought was a winning smile. "Sorry, I don't talk to strangers." said Marth. A metal shink resounded to announce the blades on his staff, he jumped, stabbed and parlayed. The metal clangs that sounded grated against his ears. Eventually, one crumpled to dust from a wound on the shoulder and chest. Not before giving Marth a nasty cut across his eye, the only thing that saved him from being blind was his staff, but now warm, sticky blood dripped and blinded him, he couldn't see and he panicked, and the gorgon knocked him to the side. He rolled onto his side and struggled to get up. As the gorgon rushed forward, he surprised her by holding out the staff that meant straight through her abdomen. As he balcked out he couldn't help but think himself a failue, 'Couldn't even stand two gorgons.' he thought regretfully. Now, he lay helpless, he could only hope someone heard the fight and would come help him.

IC: Marth felt Holly's attempt to pull him up, but he knew the poor girl's skinnier frame wouldn't hold his lankier and heavier one. He mustered all the energy he had left and was barely able to stand, even that left him without breathe. He couldn't see out of his left eye, he knew there'd be a scar across his eye ridge and down his cheek, he also was vaguely aware of how every step produced new screams from his body. Each step created a new wave of pain and the worst part was that he was powerless to stop it. However, he attempted to keep strong, he tripped every few steps and he had to lean heavily on Holly, but eventually out of his other eye, he could see the dump and soon he knew he could rest.

    OOC:

IC: As he got carried to the fire he drunkenly murmured "Look at me, a prince being escorted by two lovely ladies." He laughed to himself, but it ended in a violent fit of coughing, blood covered his right eye and he was in desperate need of ambrosia. "Ambrosia...in my pack." He said with a whisper. "They were gorgons, guys, the spoils have to be there, don't forget them...be careful...we have to leave soon....they might have found us..." He said before losing consciousness. He still breathed, but the fight, the blood loss, and the broken bones, it was a lot of pain and his body was overloaded. He started to dream about the time he told no one about, a better time. It was the few days he spent with the "normal" Gerard. Gerard, during those days, returned to his right mind, yet wouldn't let Marth out of his sight. Marth remembered the picture Gerard showed to him, Koda, the younger brother, Marth had the same picture, and it was the one on his orphanage papers as a child. He read the court orders, his father and mother were abusive, the older brother was the only responsible person. In fact, he had been a mistake. Marth still hid that darkness in himself. Over times, spent with foster families that sometimes hurt him in more ways than just physically, no one expected the pain he held inside, the pain he never chooses to remember.

IC: As Marth lay half-conscious, he grimaced when the ambrosia was shoved down. To him, he never had a favorite food, so it was tasteless...very much like eating paper to him. However, he knew there was no other way, so he swallowed. Immediately, he felt the serum go to work as his brain started to awaken. His ribs popped back into place and he felt the bruises and minor cuts start to heal just enough that only soreness remained. He struggled to get up. Even as he pushed to do so he felt a wave of nausea and he slowly lowered himself back to his lying position. "I'm better than before, however, we need to go, there is no time for debate, they couldn't be the only one, and those were just two Gorgons." he said quickly. His voice was weary, his tone sluggish.

    OOC:

IC: Marth went to grab at Cassie, in a vain attempt to calm her down, but the rapid and adrupt movement of his lurch only made his stomach empty its contents. After he was done vomiting, he sat back and breathed deep and hard. 'How the hell did those two get me that fast, I've beaten the exact same monsters at camp without breaking a sweat.' He exclaimed mentally. Then it dawned on him, those weren't some ditsy version of the gorgons, those were the original immortal sisters of Medusa, Stheno and Euryale. "That must mean Medusa can't be far off, Cassie!" He roared, but she was too far. Marth grabbed Raven then Holly, "Someone please go with her, Medusa has been out for Athena's blood since her curse, Cassie's going to be in serious trouble, please, someone follow her, and bring a mirror or something reflective, its the only way..." He continued rambling on and on, waiting for someone to take action.

    OOC: Wow ???

IC: Marth propped himself up on his elbow and looked pleadingly at Holly "Help me get up. They need help." He begged. He'd been pleading with Holly for the past few minutes in a vain attempt to get her to help him move. He was slowly growing more and more hysterical as he heard the echoing screams and grates of metal 'I guess cat-fights aren't quiet.' He thought. As much of a brave face he put on, he felt light-headed already and his face was visibly pale. It was killing him, though, that he didn't know what was going on. He was ready to plead with anyone if they'd help.

    OOC:

IC:Marth threw himself back on the makeshift cot in a huff, regretting it very soon as he felt his body ache as one whole wave of pain. He grunted and in general made a bit of scene much like a toddler. 'At least I don't feel that bad for loosing to those two anymore, now I know for sure what's it like to meet an unfriendly immortal.' He thought to himself. Marth earnestly wished that they would both hurry, he was feeling harried and ready to live these accursed grounds. He opened his mouth to argue with Holly, but thought better of it and just stared off into the distance.

OOC: Its alright, school is taxing after all....Its like they want to burn you out...Me and my friend sometimes laugh because we imagine the teachers gather in their little cult meetings and bet on which student will crack under the pressure first =-=

IC: Marth looked up as Cassie and Raven came running back, both were seemingly unhurt. He couldn't help, but feel a twinge of envy, but it was quickly wiped away by the relief that he felt at seeing them whole and unhurt. "Thank the gods." he whispered below his breath. He watched as everyone gathered and talked, he was first to get into the car and he got into the left side with a bit of difficulty. He relaxed and let his head settle on the car seat. "When am I going to be fit to fight again?" he thought to himself aloud. "Probably tomorrow or the next day." he answered himself with an empty laugh. He ran his hand through his hair and tapped his hand impatiently on the seat. "I'm going to be a deadweight until then..." He thought to himself.

    OOC: lol ;)

IC: Marth gave a dry laugh at Cassie's attempt to cheer him up, but he couldn't keep the cynicism out of his thoughts. Then, Holly entered and squished in next to Oscar, all that was left was Raven. He was feeling pretty tired, so he slowly began to nod off. His head lulled forward and he let himself be embraced by his dreams, whatever they might bring.

    OOC:

IC: Marth groaned, fidgeting in his seat and incredibly anxious to be on their way. He had a hunch that the sisters wouldn't be happy when they awoke from their compulsory slumber. He was almost ready to pop from the worry and anxiety.

    OOC:

IC:Marth laughed "Perfect, that's enough time to catch up on some rest." he said. He laid back and before anyone could say another word, he was deep into sleep, the creaks of the car were enough to lull him to his waking dreams. As he slept, he got the weirdest dream yet. He was standing in front of a veteran's grave and the ground around the whole place began to crawl and shift and bubble like liquid. Out of the soil emerged dozens of fallen soldiers and they all stared at him and said only this "Ares will conquer all that is few, beware what comes from the depths of the past, concede or fight, that will be your plight, fare well child and may the stars watch over and save you when you need it most." After doing so, the skeletons disassembled and disintegrated back under ground. The rest of his sleep was spent without another dream as he slept in the back seat.
