The 10th Doctor: Blade16
Rhyder Kerozen: 16 year old fire-wielding Hybrethaen with no right arm {G. Callen}
Alessandra Taylor: 14 year old Human from the 23rd century {G. Callen}
Isaiah Thompson: 9 year old, ice-wielding half Hybrethaen from England, 2089 {G. Callen}
Okami: 850 year old Time Lady {G. Callen}
[hr]
Rhyder was alone in the kitchen, working on breakfast. Typically being the early riser, aside from the Doctor, he was the one who ended up making breakfast. Plus, the Doctor really was not to be trusted to make breakfast. He tended to experiment and that didn't always go over well.
Okami sat on her mattress, legs crossed beneath her, reading a book by the light of the rising sun through her 'window'. Isaiah's sleeping form was barely peeking out from her blankets, just the tiniest spike of blonde hair. He'd come to her, late in the night, after one of his more severe nightmares. He had them quite a bit sometimes and it was usually a 50/50 chance of whose room he'd end up in: Rhyder's or Okami's.
Ali was still fast asleep in her room, body tangled in her blankets as she continued to snore, completely oblivious to anything going on in the rest of the TARDIS.
-
Sam exited a few seconds later, tossing his previous outfit onto his bed and then striding over to Dean, holding a hand out for the keys to the Impala.
-
That's fine, but you'd have to make a form for it
Rhyder continued making breakfast, scrambled eggs and bacon, whistling to himself as he flipped between the two tasks with his single arm. He glanced at the clock on the wall, wondering who would be getting up next. Granted, the TARDIS technically didn't run through 'proper' time, but the Doctor had placed the clocks for the benefit of his companions.
-
Okami closed her book, setting it aside and rising from the bed, stretching as she did so. With a final glance at a still sleeping Isaiah, she left the room and headed to the kitchen, her mouth watering at the smell of bacon and eggs. She slipped into the kitchen without a sound, joining Rhyder at the stove. Rhyder, being used to her sudden appearances and disappearances, didn't jump when she came up beside him. He simply slid some food onto a plate and handed it to her.
"Thank you, Rhyder. How are you?" She asked, taking the plate and heading over to the table.
"So far so good. How 'bout you? Any plans yet?"
-
Sam rolled his eyes, taking the keys and heading out the door.
-
Okami and Rhyder both glanced up as they felt the TARDIS move.
"Guess Doc is up. Any idea where we're headed?" Rhyder asked. Okami shrugged.
"He likes it to be a surprise, even to me."
-
Works for me
Sam returned to the motel 2 hours later, having read through all the files on the case and talking to the lead detective. On the way back, he'd also stopped at a diner and picked up some dinner as it was getting late. He unlocked the door and walked into the room, food bag in hand.
-
"I'm gonna go ask. Mind keeping an eye on this for me?" Rhyder asked.
"Of course not." Okami said, rising and taking his place at the stove as Rhyder left the kitchen and headed down the hall to the control room. As soon as he entered, he spread his wings out to their full width, enjoying the space to do so that he rarely had inside the TARDIS, aside from his room.
"Mornin' Doc." he said, approaching.
-
"Where we headed? Or are you just messing around again?" Rhyder asked with a knowing grin, folding in his wings after stretching them out.
-
"So, the third one?" Rhyder asked, just to clarify. The Doctor could be confusing sometimes, even for someone who was raised by him.
-
"Any specific reason? Event or landmark you want us to see?" He asked, looking over his shoulder at the monitors.
-
"Nice." Rhyder said, nodding appreciatively. He spread his wings again and flew up into the 'rafters', sitting down on one, leaning his back against a column to wait for their arrival.
-
"Breakfast is done by the way if you're hungry." Rhyder called down, closing his eyes and placing his hand behind his head.
-
"Well, it's not a demon." Sam said, placing the bag on the table. "No traces of sulfur at the disappearances, the reappearances, or the deaths."
-
Rhyder stood and took to the air again, hovering his way carefully to the floor before heading down the hall back to the kitchen.
"Third New York." Rhyder announced to Okami, who had now been joined by Isaiah.
-
"i have no idea. I was gonna take another look through dad's journal. Maybe I'll find something now that I know it's not a demon." Sam responded, taking out the food and passing Dean his burger.
-
"Some, but there wasn't much to take pictures of." Sam responded, tossing over his phone before pulling out his salad.
-
"What's the difference between third New York and first New York?" Isaiah asked, not quite getting why there were different ones in the first place.
"For one, the time period. And two, the planet they're on." Rhyder answered, dishing out some breakfast for he and Isaiah. Ali finally strolled in, dressed in a pair of sweats and an old hoodie. Without so much as muttering a greeting, she made up a plate of food and sat at the table to eat it in a very 'zombie-esque' manner.
"Well good morning to you too." Rhyder said.
"Shut up." she grumbled, continuing to eat. "It's too early for anyone to be up."
Rhyder looked up at the clock. "Hate to break it to you Als, but it's only 9."
"Exactly." She responded, earning a laugh from Rhyder and Isaiah and a small smile from Okami.
-
Sam caught it as he began eating.
"Told you there wasn't much."
-
"Mornings." She growled out. "I hate them and I'm stuck with you all who apparently love them."
Rhyder laughed. "So, what you're saying is you're the black sheep of this family." He laughed again as Ali glared at him.
